What do I have to lose? And take care of my health. I am 52 in 2nd yr in University to obtain a Bachelor Degree. And I am enjoying every moment of it. That being said I think once I implement brain health I will excel more
My takeaway is to embrace life after 50 and to have a healthy & positive approach to it. I'm 53 and started eating healthier, cut the sugar, & working out. I feel better and stronger than I did a year ago! I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!
This resonates. I changed career at 50, got a new university education and went into a whole new field. Best thing I ever did and I have so much to offer, coming from another place with a different set of skills. While my old friends are going into retirement, I feel like I just started and hope to work at least until I'm 75. I think having a mission and a sense of deep connection with what I do is good for my health all over and I can't recommend it enough.
@viktoriaberg8706, glad you enjoy your career change. Same for me, changed career at 54, went into teaching which was out of my comfort zone. I really feel the deep connection you mentioned about what's good for you and your health. Although, I have days when my class drives me up the wall, I tend to focus on one or two students' improved performance that make my whole career change worthwhile. 🙏🏽☮
Thank you for having me on and trusting me with your audience, Jim 🥰. I had such a great time and hope everyone watching has a few good, practical takeaways! And yes, we're just gettin' warmed up!!
I just turned 50. Watched this video and felt very inspired. Checked out Cal Newports book Deep Work from the library last night and have an idea for a new chapter for myself. Thanks!
This is the video I have been waiting for. I am 52. I have always wanted to be on RUclips for past 15 years. I have just ordered my camera stand. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼. OUR SECOND ACT. JUST GETTING STARTED 😊😊😊😊
I've known Ryan for over 20 years. We are both similar in our professional paths. Ironically, I came across his RUclips recently and saw he focuses on "over 50" like I am. It's never too late for anyone to reset in life. I happen to work with men over 50 who are struggling. I've been there, so I can speak from experience. Great episode Jim!
This is awesome. At 58 I made a change in my career path that I had always dreamed about. Have made some mistakes but know that’s ok. This info helps me know I picked the right decision. Even at this point. Looking forward to learning more from both of you.
This is so inspiring .. I am I my 50's and I know I can do my vision that I have but I have been procrastinating and also I fight that voice that says .. "you are too old and it's too late ot make real money on your life " I am in my 50's
The way the world should be! Be creative, be grateful, have empathy, have compassion, commit random acts of kindness. Your purpose is not to hep yourself, but rather to help others. You are a soul with a body. Your body is a gift. Take care of your body. Make the most of your time on Earth. Be a force that inspires goodwill.
Ryan’s a rare gem, both on and off the screen. If you’re in his orbit-friend, colleague, or family- you’re lifted. His natural energy doesn’t just elevate your business success; it seeps into every corner of your life! What a great interview --- it's like seeing his energy in motion! 📍💯✨️
Thanks for introducing us to Ryan Lee and for sharing the concept of a second act. As long as you are alive, you have the opportunity to create and share great ideas and things. At 75 years old, I am living my amazing third act. At 50, I acquired a disability which necessitated that I reinvest myself and my career. I could have retired and given up on my dreams but I made the commitment to fully living every day which I am blessed to live. Currently, I am writing my first book and expanding my business. Over the last two years I have had fun exploring my creativity by joining a writer’s group and writing poetry. I have also taught myself how to loom knit. Knitting has become my favorite form of meditation and I get to create beautiful things. I have given myself permission to enjoy many new forms of creativity. My 14 year old grandson and I are reading and discussing Jim’s latest book, the expanded edition of “Limitless”. The ideas in this book will help him succeed. Every morning, I start my day with a quote from a classic rock song. “The party starts now!” Party on! Life is good.
It’s sad when people miss the forest for the trees.🤦🏽♀️ Several gems were dropped here: the importance of time management, believing in yourself, importance of improving written and verbal communication, launching from an idea, finding mentorship, definition of “deep work,” to name a few-and that’s not even all of it. This is exactly what the average person with hopes, dreams, and aspirations needs to hear. Thanks Jim and Ryan.🔥👏🏼👍🏼 Anything ‘more elevated’ or less ‘parochial’ probably won’t be free, and it’ll have a cost of admission…👀
OMG ! I love this video so much. It lights me up and it is filled with positive energy and ideas. Thank you Jim! Thank you Ryan! Life is just getting started!
This has motivated me to get started on Act 2, found out I’m a “Dolphin”. Looking forward to this journey, there are no coincidences…. Thanks Gents, dc😊
Great interview and very valuable. However, this notion that we don't have time because we waste time on social media is not universal. It may be for some, but not for the rest of us. I start my activity day at 7 and I'm busy through to 8 or 9 in the evening. Everything I do is planned and has value. This also includes making some time for reading, climbing, or family. But the majority is focused work. And if I skip tasks or take too much time off, I have a backlog. My life is pretty regimented, because if it isn't, I don't have the bandwidth to do everything required or desired. This comment is more to point out that many of us don't have a time crunch because we waste time. Its because four hours of focus or focusing on one big task a day doesn't cut it. Just wanted to put that thought out there. Not everyone lacks time because they waste time. Thanks for the video!
Love this episode thank you so much. my second act was starting a podcast with my be friend to create better conversations, share pearls of wisdom and we love it. we record unscripted and unapologetically real. Coach Torque Thank you again. this was awesomento listen to.
Is there a place where Ryan has posted his implementation process? Like a step by step guide on how he launches a new channel, get his videos edited, writes scripts, etc. Thanks!
Reinvention knows no age, it's a journey toward becoming your best self. As Carl Jung wisely said, "The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely." Embrace change and view it as an opportunity to explore new passions and possibilities. Start by setting new goals, learning new skills, and nurturing your passions. Your most vibrant self awaits!
This video is not for somebody starting over from scratch from a divorce or job loss. In fact this is probably more to do with midlife boredom and how to spend your hedge fund.
I was hoping for something more elevated than just business and social media. If you're over 50 I would hope you would have bigger dreams and aspirations. Very parochial advice but thanks for trying.
Hey jim , very good video ! I was wondering if I can help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and make Highly Engaging Thumbnails which will help your videos to get more views and engagement . Please let me know what do you think ?

Not wasting 30 minutes just to find out this is rehashed common sense you could have said in a 5 minutes video
No more Botox, Jim.

I love how you're going all-in during your "third" act... there's nothing that can stop you.

Wow. I thought Jim was about 30 years old. He looks young.
Title should probably be ‘how to reinvent yourself on social media after 50’
❤
