The acceleration of these beasts is unbelievable. 0-100+ mph in one car length. This is my world. Now that I'm retired it's time to get back to being a part of the fast life. I luv the NHRA 🔥💯
Mr Coe as you know the quarter mile is measured by the driver/team at the 60' ft mark, the 100' mark, midtrack and at 1,000 ft then the finish line and the timing lights. And yes sir, top fuel, AA/FC, Altered and Pro Stock measure the track to gain insight on how tight the clutch pack has to be. Currently Brittany Force is holding the fastest track-speed in the history of the NHRA 🔥 and extremely good teacher. And yeeeeup they measure at the 100' ft mark

Never forget first time as a kid going to New England Dragway for the funny car nationals. That 1st funny car going down the 1/4 mile while standing in the pit area was mind chattering, mind-blowing, and body shaking! No hearing protection in the 70's 😊

I remember when they use to have the Cajun nationals in erwinville at state capital dragway I was a teenager then and the fastest top fuel run was 5 seconds I've never seen the 3.70 runs. I'm almost 60 now, maybe one day it's a bucket list item.
A top fuel engine in all of their might suffers from what all reciprocating engines are limited by. The piston and rod must move in one direction and stop, move in the opposite direction, stop, move in the other direction and stop and one more time to complete 4 stroke cycle required to function properly. You can only get so much air and fuel in and out of the engine. An inefficient process compared to electric motors that only has to move electrons through wire and turn the motor in one continuous direction. But we will never see an electric dragster compete with a top fuel dragster.
After hearing this. Imagine the future with these cars being ELECTRIC. HELL NO. NO FUCKING WAY. Let’s go see the race. What and hear the grass grow. 😂😂😂😂😂
