@@clutchbleach2057 I'm assuming you remember the bleach days! These kids will never know what it's like to get a face-full of bleach smoke! My dad drove one and I've been around racing since 1968. What an experience!
That also goes, if you're standing along the fence there by the starting line. For the uninitiated, be prepared to be blown away. And that's true for injected nitro dragsters in the alcohol dragster class. And not too long ago, someone was testing an injected nitro alcohol funny car.
Only go up to the fence AFTER the car has started and the initial white cloud of raw unburnt nitro vapor has dissipated. If you are standing there and that happens to you, you will only do it once as that vapor will disperse the angriest crow of ….anything in seconds. After that it’s safe to get close as you want to the fence. Once you’ve been through that once you will find entertainment in watching someone else go through it as you watch them crowd along the fence waiting for the car to start, you just can’t look away🤭
I worked there, 1974-1984, when it was Seattle International Raceway. Lived on the track next to the finish line for 7 of those years. Those were some of the best years of my life.
@@Bkn348og Well, I meant that the track in the woods vibe was more like camping. I know they allow camping, but Pacific just has that campground vibe because of all the trees.
Go Cruz! No. 4 finish last year with Russ Collins turning the wrenches. Shout out to Rip Reynolds, Ed 'Tuna' Tyler, and Ryan Elliott, a remarkable team.
I remember watching Twig Ziegler, 240 Gordie Bonin, and Ed "The Ace" McCulloch in the seventies in Portland, Oregon. Even though the cars were much slower then, it was still almost incomprehensible to watch.
Absolutely NEVER EVER get old!! Smell, Taste of Fuel vibrating your Chest and Soul!! Power of a fine tuned machine and true professionals sharing and showing what they love to do!! True talent and the Need for Speed!!! Love it!! So Happy the season is upon all of US!!
Pacific Raceways, Kent, Washington. Its known as the armpit of the season, also in the Western swing but im a native and its ours, See all those big trees, spectators park and party in the SHADE when its 90+
I would honestly say sitting in a 14,000 hp funny car at idle is one of the crazier experiences i have ever had. Honestly indescribable, i was very lucky to have a grandpa with cool friends. From a 100 yards away it sounds like a damn space ship launching.
While some cars have gone green with the hybrid engines, I'm glad that NHRA hasn't. As a kid, I grew up watching NHRA and I'm glad to see that almost nothing changed
Growing up only a couple miles from Detroit Dragway, this is Music to my ears 😊 Long live Drag racing Long live nitro burning machines The best pacemaker there is 🇺🇸💥🚗😁
If the tree huggers and the environmentalists get there way, you'll hear absolute silence. Just a whirring sound from the massive battery under the body. That's not drag racing. This is .
If the environmentalists get their way you'd hear that sound from the trucks long before you'd hear them on the strip. The emissions of racing over a quarter mile are negligeble compared to the emissions of transporting tons of gear over thousands of miles.
I'm a "treehugger" and "environnementalist". I also work on a nitro car. And methanol cars are actually good for the environnement. Try a little more science, a little less blind partisanship.
The pounding in my chest the spell of pure nitromethane burning and 8 cylinders firing perfectly before all hell is unleashed and 11,000H.P. roars down 1320 run at 300+ mph. THAT NEVER GETS OLD .
Love that sound!!!🔥🔥
Never gets old. Smell of nitro and the ground shaking. Hell yeah
If everyone that loves drag racing & never been to an event needs to see, hear & smell these nitro burners in person!! TV doesn’t do it any justice!
@@dickymiller7196I think we only have santa pod in the UK but you guys are really special shout out to all of you ❤ in the US we appreciate you
That pounding in your chest....

These machines have to be seen live, the sensations are amazing, go watch 👍
If you never stood beside one on the line,,you should put it on bucket list,

I got the opportunity as a photographer in the late 1980's. It was like being punched in the chest 120 times a second by a whole troup of gorillas.
I did today for the first time Nd it was none other than John force himself!!! Man what a feeling

Got to in the 90s in Epping, NH, including one of those jet trucks - holy crap!
I will never get tired that beautiful sound coming from those monster engines. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
The one thing i love about Pacific Raceways is that it's like mixing camping with racing at the same time.
And Sonoma
It’s not just pacific they do it at Sonoma too and same with NASCAR too we go every year

John Force must not be gettin' old. He's still there, still winning.

@Saint_Ann. 240 Gordie. LoL. Haven't heard that name in while . I have signed pic from him of his 77 Trans am funny car.
Love everything about a good old fashioned drag race at the track!

Sweet! I'm looking forward to watching them on Sunday!
Ive eaten alot of nitro and been shook from that power. If youve never done it, it needs to be experienced once.

That's real horse power..
It most certainly is indeed.
I'm old enough to remember when they used real bleach for the burnouts 🔥 burned your eyes so bad you could barely see the win lights 😂✌️🇺🇸

Weekly payments of just $10,000 a week for the rest of your life- warranty void if raced
The power of 11,000hp 500ci V8!!
The only other person than John Force to win the FC championship in the 90’s…Cruzer!
my eyes started burning just watching this video.
Cruz IS getting that Charger Faster every meet, a little more consistency And he'll be back on top
Nitro burners/Top fuelers are a must for anyone to experience especially the car enthusiast who’s never seen one run live.
I'm having chill bumps , just by listening to the nitro cackle ...then seeing the clutch dust exit the car under the wing .... I almost cried!!
This is right before Cruz smokes the tires.
Aint that the truth. Consistency is not his strength nor is keeping a crew chief.
What do you mean? He consistently smokes the tires.@@klutchdust4346
Just got my ticket for up coming event in Ennis tx.the finals.
How fast that saweet sound goes away!
You can't explain this to people !
This is one of those car things that gives me the James May fizz.... 😂
Frickin Awesome!
That grey haired man ain't no slouch behind the wheel either
WOW what a Beast!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
What always got me was that sound of the enormous vacuum of air being created by the super chager right at the hit.
Great job 👍 Cruz
The sound/smell🥰
Loved going to see Drag racing in Phx when I was a kid..

The most therapeutic sound and smell in the world
Love it, the smell of into in the morning 🙄👍
I love it… my eyes are burning from the nitro just by watching this video short!!!
The juxtaposition of that car and the fir trees in the background is really cool. Must be the NW?
He just smoked us all in some big block modifies in iRacing 😂
so much powerrrrr
I need to get one of these!
I would like to see their car race against a 1960s Funny Car to see the comparison.
How do you figure out what adjustment needs to be made on wheelie bars?
How you want to control weight transfer to get the tires to slip the optimum amount.
Topeka this weekend! Need to get my face burned off by some nitro!
The pounding in my chest the spell of pure nitromethane burning and 8 cylinders firing perfectly before all hell is unleashed and 11,000H.P. roars down 1320 run at 300+ mph. THAT NEVER GETS OLD .
Well, it's 1000 feet. Hasn't been 1320 for years.
Bad Boys here !!👍✌️
Wow what a very fast take off.
WOW 24000 HORSEPOWER TRULY UNBELIEVABLE TRULY
What is the proper form of ear pro for these? I imagine they are much louder than nascar, formula one, etc
The proper ear protection is "as much as possible and pray"
Basic foam stick in is fine. An afterburner jet engine is still louder.
Its best music
Yep, this would never get old for me either.
Launched from the hand of God
Fucken Heck Yeah 💯
Remember my first time at a drag race back in 2010
