damn, dude. you went to great lengths for this. I would have called it junk. Im betting ill find rot just like that when I got to swap my "control arm". Now Im scared. :/ Thanks for the video though.
I actually had a shop mechanic tell me the trailing arm mounting brackets were rusting out - I can't remember what work he was doing at the time. Anyway I ordered the repair kit - once I found a mechanic who reminded me of the problem - he also is a welder. He was surprised they sold a repair kit for the trailing arm brackets!! hahaha.
Looks just like my daughters 04, if I can find a person in Wisconsin, what would that cost? I’m not a welder and do not pretend to be one, lol. Rust kills our vehicles before mechanical failure 😞 usually.
@@briandeziel4608 I got it done - ordered the repair kit of the trailing mount brackets - found a mechanic welder just across the border in Minnesota. Rick Bork - he has a youtube channel. So you would have to commute but he did a great job.
Good job.👏
Thank you! 😃

I made this video over a year ago and, 16K+ miles later, the Trail Blazer is still going strong!

All the trail blazers rot out on the rust belt 😢
Not the ones that spend a few bucks on oil based undercoating EVERY year.
This is the only place these rust out. Check the other side.
Do you repair other peoples vehicles or just your own. I have one with the same problem
I don't work on other peoples vehicles. Mainly because I don't have a lot of spare time!
Would have liked to see the fab
I should have done that!
Got the same thing going on with my 2004 Trailblazer. Horrible design by GM. Probably going to junk it.
at 292K on our 2004 TB - going for 500K
Have an 03 TB with this same problem. Anyone know anyone in Indianapolis that might be able to do this?
This vids a yr old...time to change that upper rear control arm that you should have noticed is about to snap in 2...lol
Multilink suspensions are to be avoided.
