Gary Novak is a genius. One of his Mist impresssive live recordings on the Internet.
It's all in the eye of the beholder. I could could listen to Gary Novak all day long. His playing was perfect for this song. I have no idea what people are listening to that think this was overplayed.
How the hell do you overplay on this song? People are crazy.
You have to admit that the single strokes can sometimes overpower things... Gary is a very aggressive player. Colaiuta for instance is too but he leaves space for others and interacts with the other band members.
I had the good fortune of seeing Gary play with Jeff Lorber and he was so laid back and tasteful until he did something like an 8 bar solo where he blew everyone's mind at the end of the night. I think Gary steals the show here and powers this band like freight train. This is not overplaying, this is taking it to another level in the perfect musical context for someone of Gary's skill and talent.
Yeah Vinnies playing on this song with Karizma is special.
The playing on this is off the charts. So feckin inspiring. How could anyone be other than blown away?

The Baked Potato is the best club in the whole world. I have seen several incredible bands/musicians (Allan Holdsworth, Mike Keneally, Andy Summers, Brett Garsed, Don Randi & Quest, and others) play there over the years. I would love to see Michael Landau play there. My dream has been to live down the street from the Baked Potato so I could go there all the time to see all the best of the best musicians.
100% on the money,the spud is the best place to see music played by the best in the world,landau,scott hendeson,allen hinds,seen them all, but remember normies dont know shit,keep it on the down low.

Saw the three of them yesterday in Mainz, Germany, and yesterday's version of I'M BUZZED was every bit as impressing as this one. It was an immensly satisfying concert. And hats off to Reggie Hamilton.

Yeah Toss was great with Landau. Very creative and funky. He played alot of quirky patterns that would make you laugh with pleasure.

Nobody but Gary could provide all those ghost notes with his left hand. This tune fails without Gary on drums.

Ok a few years ago but drummers help me out. I think the playing is great but I like more crisp accents on the snare to make the song pop, or more definition. Otherwise it kind of sounds a little muddled like here. It is the way the snare is tuned, or just the way he plays?
