Biggest complaints I have with this system are:
    1. Search filters are absolute ass. Mainly not being able to search through affix ranges and the inability to search for multiple affix rolls using different tiers for each. Hell, just give me a search filter that allows me to enter a minimum number for the combined affix rolls on uniques like the Ladle.
    2. Price checking is absolutely horrendous. Like, who the fuck passed this in QA knowing a random assortment of items will need to be price checked at different npcs. Guesstimating item prices is just not ideal.
I personally don't mind the rep grind. Though it takes a very long time to get to rank 8, but rank 9 and 10 are largely irrelevant. Definitely needs a rethink but not as important as better search filters and better price checking capabilities imo.

If faction points was tied to sell price and you only got it for selling the item all you would need to do is have two people agree to buy each other's garbage items for a set amount back and forth. I list a white ring for 100k you buy it. You list a white belt for 100k I buy it. Repeat until max rank.

That Merchant's Guild reputation climb is a bit too steep. I switched to Circle of Fortune because if I have to grind that much just to buy items I might as well enjoy the additional game mechanics of the CoF and get better rewards during said grind.

Left circle of fortune near rank 10
Prophecies uses rons of favor and it's not guaranteed to get what u want whatsoever, it's random
Rank 10 will give you duplicates of any reward that's it
I had to join merchant guild after getting a usable gear
Prices are getting down compared to last month but rare stuff are expensive
Ranking is slow, u can get more favor faster if u do higher corruption monoloth tho
The plan is reaching the top with enough gold to buy any expensive rare item u need to perfect your build

I agree with you, but the search funtion is a pain. it takes a LOT of time to price check items, you cannot list items based on their rolls, thich is a BIG pain imo. For example, if you want to buy Boneclamor Barbute, you'll notmaly look for high dex and int rolls, but there's no way to do that, you need to jump through 15 pages of items until you start seeing the rolls you are looking for.

2:40 i hit lvl 7 in HC at around lvl 94/95 after running hundrets of empowered monos with some corruption. But i guess you were talking about lvl 6 anyway. Which i think is also a good bit into empowered monos. They definetly need to change the numbers here. T6 items barely ever are sellable, besides some specific affix-base combinations, because you can only just buy them after you found hundrets of them yourself.
edit: COF offers immedeate desireable rewards so this sadly is way off balanced

I think the simplest solution is to just unlock the faction selection at the same point that you choose your mastery. This would be roughly level 20 for most people, which would mean you have the entire rest of the campaign and quests to get favor and reputation in a more organic way. Hopefully this would result in most players being at rank 5ish when they finish the campaign and then the progression through the monolith should roughly correlate with the remaining rep ranks, though I do agree the rep required needs to be toned down a bit.
Also, would be great if they just created 1 single vendor that serves as the "auction house" for all items. Clearly better search functionality needs to happen, but I won't beat that dead horse, he's been through enough.

Also please, let me list things from anywhere. Pick up items and gold from sales from the Bazaar, but plz don't make me load screen every time I have items to sell. I have two tabs of stuff to sell already that I can't cause I don't have the favor cause it costs to list and buy and I fucked up purchasing three idols of the wrong size by accident (4x1 vs 3x1, woops).

8:24 I dont think it'll cause imbalance because the legendary augmentation mechanics is still a gamble. in the end, ability to buy LP items on that rank will only result in a better economy flow. People can buy LP things earlier might just be the best thing ever.

Well said. I fully agree with the analysis, and it mimics my experience to the dot. My only addition to the analysis would be that I would like some sort of copy-paste functionality, e.g., to be able to copy the affix names, stat lines, etc., and enter them in the search window directly.

Man swapping from one to the other faction is brutal with the gear being locked behind repping that guild. You have to hope you get normal drops that aren't locked to the guild that also work with your character at the level you're at, horde them until you have enough to make the character work for whatever you're doing (such as empowered monoliths) then swap over and start working on the second. I like merchant's guild at first cause you can get even sub-par items that make a build work, like idols or specific weapons (looking at you crystal swords for Spellblade), to get through normal monoliths in a way that isn't brutal and slow, or pigeon holling you into a build you may not enjoy. But if you want to swap over because, for instance, you now have to grind hours and hours of rep to buy that unique or exalted weapon, or four of them cause you get unlucky with the crafting while upgrading, you're kind of SOL. I understand the theory behind these choices, but it just seems clunky all around as it's currently implemented.

Trade is leagues above OP in the endgame compared to CoF and that's normal, but if Trade would be even easier, than in almost no time and with some luck (4LP for cheap) you could have all ur Uniques with LF 3 or 4. Once that happens, your journey with that character will be done. What would make ppl play if they have nothing to grind for because they bought it? I've been grinding for days to get a targeted Unique helm with some LP and cant, all I get is no LP or LP 1. I'm rank 9 CoF. My uniques right now are all with LP1, one with 2 LP and my Bis with 0 LP. Grinding at 300+ corruption because the build is strong, but the grind ahead is real. As someone else said about Trade, it's very stong at start and at the end. The middle progression is a bit harder, but it's so much stronger than CoF in terms of acquiring targeted items.

    My 2 issues are:
    1. Almost everything, even when it's valuable, is listed as 0 gold; or it's so over priced for the build of the week, that people are buying gold from RMT to afford it.
    2. There is no QoL, you can't even tab into fields on the search. When it comes to researching what is valuable, there is no weekly or monthly sales data to look at. If you like looking at thousands of items and spending hundreds of hours doing it, good for you; I aint got time for that shit.

The current system has account wide reputation. The obvious solution is rep requirement being significantly reduced and make it character specific. Assuming you are burning down your favor, you should hit rank 10 with either faction at about lvl 95 and rank 7 by lvl 80.

      @sherpagoolsbee8390 6 месяцев назад

@@joshw6212 - correct... the current system is balanced for your entire account over the course of an entire season/league/cycle. It assumes you will level multiple characters within that faction evenly throughout the cycle. If you do this, the rewards arrive just as you need them. This simply isn't how most people want to engage with this game. As such, my comment is the reputation system needs to be changed to character specific and rebalanced. Once the system is rebalanced, you should be rank 8 or close to rank 9 with either faction.

@@strongcoffee3243 Still not fast enough. I have a lvl 87 and a lvl 84 (yes that's a bad thing to split like that) but I'm still 2-3 hours away from getting lvl7. Imo, blocking the most important part of trading (exalted items) behind such a long grind kills any joy I had about trading. Especially considering you can't make profit off trades and it's purely for your own charachter progress. It should be easier to access and cost less favour. Not everyone has time to grind 4-5 hours a day, even then it costs you a week or more. having to wait 25-30 hours just to be able to buy an exalted item is a massive thumbs down. And then you have to grind even more because of the favor cost.

Search function has to change when the tier percentages are 25-75% Yeah I dont want to scroll through 30 pages of items to find 65+% and also other good rolls.
Sorting by only price or age is also terrible. We should be able to sort by stats.
Also not having it unlocked for other characters until reaching that stage of the game is complete garbage. Want to start a new character but need a level 24 item to make it work, great You will be level 55 before you bring that build online because even though you have the item you arent a part of the faction yet so no gear for you! This is by far the silliest mechanic of an auction house. Not usable until end game makes wanting to try new builds so much of a time sink.

merchant guild design is a failure sadly. They failed to understand basic economic supply and demand. Players shift from being consumer (to gear up) to producer (end game farming). They need to balance both ends. Right now, there's way more producer than consumers. They need to figure a way to force players to interact with both side of the equation pretty much all the time.

  • @REIwAlexY

"cof is too powerful to make the merchants guild worth it"? Please show me any active, endgame player that is saying that... trade was, is, and almost certainly, ALWAYS will be the most powerful way to acquire the best items. COF has big advantages for certain items/types of items. but a COF player will essentially NEVER see a 2 lp omni. let alone 3/4. ANY item COF has access to, MG has but reverse is absolutely not true.
once they make search UI better and decrease the insane grind to 10 (WELL past lvl 100 even), MG will undoubtedly be #1. even now, it still is #1 but not if you casual

That's kind of interesting proposition though, because at that point, you open the floodgates, which has benefits and detriments to the health of the economy/game.
