the girl in the red dress was me at 9 years old :) even though this was back in '04, this is probably the most memorable experience i have from growing up and playing the piano.
Hearing many chilren laughing when Lang Lang did or said something, I can tell that he is loved by children and he likes children. I like the way he teach, very humorous, heartwarming, and easy to understand for little children.
I must admit that I usually don't like Lang Lang, but he does a wonderful job here with these children =) He is great with children and has a fun way of explaining to them. This makes me see him in a different light
Thanks @@davidpack5902 . I'm revisiting Lang Lang's masterclasses a year later (plus some new stuff that's been posted since). Great way of staying inspired! Where did this series of masterclasses take place?
Lang Lang can distinguish unmistakably every move in energy during the performance - and Lang Lang makes it so clear - so, we can do it! gives us confidence and active force! Bravo
I was just teasing :) All of you sound amazing. Although I'm not a big fan of Lang Lang's playing, he's been a great ambassador for piano education and you have to love him for that. Suddenly the piano's cool again...!
constancekaita, I'm impressed with how well you implemented his instructions, especially with all the interruptions. Being interrupted that often would have made me a nervous wreck and unable to play.
Omg I used to play this piece! I’m a complete failure in playing the piano and I hear something I used to play in a masterclass!! I just never feel like anything I know is the kind of thing to appear in a class at this level. So excuse me
i suppose for anybody out there insulting Lang Lang's capabilities they are just ignorant, this man cannot have a perfect performance every time he plays, plus once all of you can demonstrate the interpretive skills he possesses i believe you cannot say some of the harsh comments directed towards him. He may not be your favourite but please don't be completely disrespectful he's doing better than you!
The few snippets I've seen of these master classes are interesting, in that Lang Lang seems to focus on ways to draw out expressive phrasing and dynamics, in a non-scary learning environment. I don't think he is suggesting that there is no other way to play the pieces, but he demonstrates one way to communicate the musical expression successfully. Granted, he is not to everyone's taste, but I think he is an important artist. Take away his grimaces, and his playing is quite often convincing.
I like to play classical music. But if i have to play it THIS precise, to the point that BEYOND the mechanics, I have to play it PERFECTLY in consideration with the TIME, the PSYCHOLOGY of the composer, his MOTIVATIONS, FEELINGS, if his GF was BLEEDING that week......AND, LMFAO, LANG LANG's JUDGEMENT. LMFAO. Waste 20 years of LIFE to copy someone else? I wonder what her monthly salary and style of living is? With 1.4 BILLION people running around, not sure how Lang Lang's STUDENT is doing in the REAL WORLD of rent and food.
Now this is hilarious!! The thought of LL teaching anyone anything...he could learn a few lessons in musical taste from other musicians (like Kissing, Argerich, etc)..
@kopk888 Your not reading my words correctly. I said that I know that there are many others who regard him highly. I am one who doesnt regard him highly. Now leave it at that ok? I am not a Lang Lang lover. He's a nice guy, but I do not regard his playing as highly. Period.
He is as hopeless a teacher as he is a pianist. Instead of working with the pupil he tries to make him play exactly the Lang Lang way. No discussion, no interest in the pupil's personality, no attempt at finding those specific solutions which are appropriate for the individual pupil. A good masterclass teacher helps the pupil make progress on his personal unique way and does not try to impose his own solutions on everybody.

I love this guy. Not only does he give incredible performances, but he's a great teacher and mentor and funny as well.
He's so cool, and the pressure that people feel quickly disappears! :)) Love it!
Hearing many chilren laughing when Lang Lang did or said something, I can tell that he is loved by children and he likes children. I like the way he teach, very humorous, heartwarming, and easy to understand for little children.
You're the best,Lang Lang. If Mozart were alive,he would shed tears of pride!!! Excellent teacher you are.
EXACT , and the same for Beethoven , I really mean it :D :D
xcando math Lang Lang can't play Beethoven. He plays Beethoven like Mozart.
Pacis Ndahiro hmm are you listen Daniil Trifonov or Evgeny Kissin?

Lang Lang~ beautiful personality and a big heart ♥
I must admit that I usually don't like Lang Lang, but he does a wonderful job here with these children =) He is great with children and has a fun way of explaining to them. This makes me see him in a different light
What a joy to watch Master Lang Lang loving & fun way to teach his students!! Brilliant 💚🎋⭐️🎵👌🎅
Watching this I come to understand how he feels music, and why he makes all those faces he is famous for.
What a beautiful way of conveying the essence of the piece to the kids through simple and playful metaphor. Lang Lang has such a winning personality!
Thanks iLeon for your reply, it is Mozart sonata 9, d major, K31. His last piano sonata was also in D - no. 18, K.576
Thanks @@davidpack5902 . I'm revisiting Lang Lang's masterclasses a year later (plus some new stuff that's been posted since). Great way of staying inspired! Where did this series of masterclasses take place?
Nice and right
I now have more respect for this guy! He definitely is a superb mentor! I see him in a totally different light now! OMG!
Lang Lang can distinguish unmistakably every move in energy during the performance - and Lang Lang makes it so clear - so, we can do it! gives us confidence and active force! Bravo
I always considered Lang Lang a sort of Jedi Pianomaster.

Lang Lang brought music pretformmence to the level of freedom, warmth, professional criticism in favor to everybody - listeners and performers!

I was just teasing :) All of you sound amazing. Although I'm not a big fan of Lang Lang's playing, he's been a great ambassador for piano education and you have to love him for that. Suddenly the piano's cool again...!

I think you played beautifully. I hope you're still playing now that you are very old!! Brava :-)
You are correct. K311 is exactly right. Love it. Trying to learn it now.
He is extreem good in explaining
I love the Liszt and Chopin, but my favorite Lang Lang music is Mozart. He gets all the jokes and childlike spirit of it!
LOVELY!
constancekaita, I'm impressed with how well you implemented his instructions, especially with all the interruptions. Being interrupted that often would have made me a nervous wreck and unable to play.
Genius!
good teacher, very good!
Langlang shows the humor of Shenyanger, China into his teaching class, really great!
Awesome!
Omg I used to play this piece! I’m a complete failure in playing the piano and I hear something I used to play in a masterclass!! I just never feel like anything I know is the kind of thing to appear in a class at this level. So excuse me

"Where am I?" "I'm in new Jersey!" 8:15

oh really? he is there to teach her, he has the right to stop her whenever he wants
@pianoplayeruk so they want to take it from you?lol
@pianoplayeruk many others? maybe there are many other from centuries ago, but in modern days lang is one of the few
Lang Lang was chastised by Barenboim not too long ago, and now he is teaching. What the world is coming to ?
Gee, Lang Lang is very hands on, literally. Kid is being kneaded like a lump of flour. He did the same thing to George Li.
At first sight you might trapped into thinking this is a singing lesson.
Hii
okay okay so... your 9 years old and your at masters class???
well, in your opinion he might be..
@constancekaita
Many congratulations me at 9 years. You played well then and very well in your Carmen piece on your channel.
I like to play classical music. 朗郎好High...
Oh lol the stupid anti lang lang dramatic club
Anyone watching this in 2017
Sorry, Evgeny I meant "Kissin"...
that would be pretty inefficient.
Vietnam 🌶
... "the 'greatest-selling' artist" ....
Aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnhhhhhhhgggggggttttttt
@kopk888
No I don't teach, I simply don't regard Mr Lang Lang as highly as many others do.
Now this is hilarious!! The thought of LL teaching anyone anything...he could learn a few lessons in musical taste from other musicians (like Kissing, Argerich, etc)..
@kopk888
Your not reading my words correctly. I said that I know that there are many others who regard him highly.

I am not a Lang Lang lover. He's a nice guy, but I do not regard his playing as highly. Period.
il a raison, mais pauvre petite! Elle passe au batte! Je ne trouve pas ça complètement habile comme enseignement.
It's quite considerate of Lang Lang to teach these young pianists how NOT to play the piano.
Not like ur better. Stop hating
Don't touch her permanently!!!!!!!!!!
I cant inagine why anyone would want to take lessons from this guy...
Charlotte Cauchefer-Dupré music is not just notes...lol
he’s incredibly skilled….
Too much body touch!

he should learn a lot before teaching .
