Fun fact, I was actually originally gonna go with Miranda Sex Garden but someone already beat me to them but no biggie, I love this band just as much LOL I'm terribly sorry for the inconsistent uploads but Ido have more videos in the planning stage to be made and I look forward to sharing them so stay turned!
Wish we heard more of Lisa Hammers style of singing in Goth music. It's so hypnotic. Seems to fit the goth style so well. In my opinion anyway.
I agree. While I was doing research for this, I had to look to see if other Goth rock singers mixed Goth rock with opera and there were none, only Lisa Hammer. I agree, the singing style goes beautifully well with Goth rock.

Awesome video. I've heard of Requiem in white and they are amazing. My favorite song would have to be Secret of Secrets. By the way, I didn't know that they did voices on the Venture Bros. 🖤🖤
Glad you enjoyed and yeah I was totally surprised as well but that made it make so much sense why Triana Orpheus was an actual Goth character because the show was written and made by an actual Goth who knows the music. Seriously there are only like 4-5 actual goth characters in media and Triana was one of them.
I prefer Mors Syphilitica over Requiem In White. I really like them both though ^_^

Thanks! And yes they are a severely underrated band and while they don't perform anymore from my knowledge, their music is still worth checking out so I highly recommend them.
Hi love your videos , i want to know if you can do videos about new goth bands that started in the 90's but only got more popular in 2000 till current for example two new bands i really like is The Awakening and Wisborg as to name for now so that we can show people that goth music is still going on strong . Keep up with the videos

I have always meant to check out Requiem in White again. I listened to their music a little bit a long time ago on RUclips. I will do so again! I always appreciate the recommendations you give on your channel. I also finally bought Fairytales of Slavery by Miranda Sex Garden recently. I had heard some of their songs on RUclips and had enjoyed them for a while, but now I am glad I have that full album. I really want to buy their other ones now. Thanks for keeping the music alive on RUclips! I always look forward to your uploads.
Glad you enjoyed the video and happy listening when you get back to listening to them, they really are great though vastly underrated lol. And Yeah "Fairytales of Slavery" is such an awesome album, nice to hear you enjoyed it as well. And sure thing, it's always fun talking about the music since I have no one to talk about it with offline haha.
@@KaiDecadence I am in the same position! Nobody I know in my area likes goth music and if they exist I just haven't met them yet. Although my husband is pretty open to my music so I ramble to him about it a lot, he is really more into metal. He did love Miranda Sex Garden when I played them for him, though. I think he'd actually enjoy Requiem in White too so I will probably play them for him soon. I am glad RUclips is around to give somewhat of a sense of community to us who don't have a big scene near us.

I am goth, and I listen to some goth music, but metal just suits with me more. I like batcave, and industrial goth music however.
"Industrial Goth", honestly that kinda makes me raise an eyebrow because Goth music and Industrial music is not the same thing. What bands do you like on this front if you don't mind me asking? Just trying to do a little gauge.
Kai Decadence Its ok, nvm me. I'm a goth and metalhead, and I know they are 2 different cultures. If you don't mind can you show me some of the best goth groups/bands that you think I might find good ? I use to be into goth music, but after I found metal back in 2010 I was transported into something I found more appealing in my personal opinions. I still listen to some goth music from time to time. I actually compose music, I play goth music on my guitar and keyboard, but I listen to Metal. Sorry for the long text.
@@thelastdaybreathinginetern1385 Oh I wasn't saying that you were conflating Metal & Goth as the same, I was meaning more when you said "Industrial Goth" because those two aren't the same either and it just made me curious because usually when people say that, they then list off nothing but Industrial bands like Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, and other bands like that and while they're great, they're Industrial, not Goth.
As for recommendations, it's very hard to do because everyone has different tastes and it's not different with Goth music. One person may like Sisters of Mercy while another person may not like them and prefer Bauhaus over them and so on. But if I were to suggest some bands that I personally like...

Kai Decadence Yes I'm very into goth culture I just listen to Metal to let out anger and sadness, but I will definitely listen to those bands you mentioned. Btw, I do like Sisters of mercy, Ministry, Morrisey, The cure, but I listen to goth classical music as well.
@@thelastdaybreathinginetern1385 Mmm right but just to let you know now, Ministry, Morrisey, and The smiths aren't Goth bands. Ministry is Industrial, Morrisey & The Smiths are Indie/Alternative.
Thanks so much for posting! I love this band! They are so obscure that the only album I could find was Father & Fate with Mors Syphylitica , and I downloaded it immediately! But cannot find any of the previous albums and nothing at all from Requiem. Lisa Hammer also did some stuff on her own, but nothing to my liking. Do you know where I can download their music? I already tried Amazon, Bandcamp, and iTunes. I found out about them like 2 years ago.
Yeah Lisa Hammer's work is very obscure and it's a shame they are never mentioned with the classics. Unfortunately I've only been able to find what little work of theirs here on RUclips.

Thanks! Haha and the reason why I use an avatar now is because to be honest, I just lack the gift of gab when it comes to doing face cam videos. I stumble on my words and I need to rely on natural lighting when recording which means I have a limited time of recording myself as I need to do it all before the sun sets. It was just beginning to be a real struggle to get videos out doing them that way so I decided to go ahead and do the avatar style instead for now as I'm able to script myself, record my voice whenever I want, and get videos done more efficiently. I hope this all makes sense. :)

last.fm is the truth for finding similar bands.
It can be for general music but as far as genre labeling, not really. I learned pretty quickly as I was getting more familiar with Goth music and what makes it's sound Goth that Last Fm does have it's fair share of wrong information. When bands like Evanescence, Marilyn Manson, HIM, Cradle of Filth, and a lot of the more well-known Symphonic Metal or Gothic Metal bands get labeled as "Goth" (seriously, just look at the "Goth" genre page), it loses quite a few points in my opinion.
The only reason I benefited from the site was because I knew what to look for in terms of sound when it came to determining if a band was Goth or not haha.
@@KaiDecadence i feel that. when i say similar bands i mean when you are looking for a band with a similar sound to another one usually their related artists i found were pretty good.
@@Jessinking Oh. Eh... sometimes I guess. Sometimes it can be okay finding bands with a similar sound but I've had quite some bad luck with that haha.

@@Jessinking Yeah. After awhile you just want to stop lol Tha's where blogspot sites can come in handy or even RUclips channels that only upload specifically Goth music on their channels. You can find a lot of obscure ones doing that. :)
