Not to mention acknowledging when he's failing to provide for his family. George truly is proud of Georgie, but he can't accept his money because his pride as a husband and father wont allow admitting to his son he's coming up short.

@@mtk1808 For some reason??? No it’s pretty easy to understand.
Parents raise their kids with the expectation that they will provide and nurture for them even at great cost and sacrifice to themselves.
Being a parent and agreeing to take financial help from your kids when you still thought of yourself as their sole provider is pretty much an admission that you failed to support them.
Is it smart to take the money if it was for something really important like keeping up on mortgage payments? Yes.

@@sampritihalder4210its more about the fact george is trying express to georgie how proud he is of him. Georgie blows it off complaining about something george cant fix right now, then georgie offers to pays for the ac to be fixed, extremely disrespectful, then says you can consider it a loan if it makes you feel better, that reeks of im better than you cause i have a min wage job with no bills, family or other things holding me down. Georgie thought he was doing a good thing by offering money to help out his dad, but he doesnt realise George's pride as a father and a husband makes him unable to accept as that would be admitting he's failing to provide for his family.
