I think this is the biggest example of how much it depends on who plays the game and how they bring it to audience. I have watched another playthrough where the content creator clearly didn't enjoy it at all and really commented mostly in a downgrading way. So i also didn't enjoy it as much, to the point where it was definitely my least favourite part of dark pictures. While watching you and how much you loved it and pointed out all the different parts that i previously didn't even pick up on, it definitely made this game climb on the ranks❤ Positivity is a key and im so glad you have a tons of it to share with us❤
I loved your playthrough of this game! This is also my favourite game from S1 of the Dark Pictures Anthology series! My ranking is the exact same as yours! 1. The Devil In Me 2. Little Hope 3. House of Ashes 4. Man of Medan I enjoyed them all though! I was able to save everyone including Connie the dog in my 1st playthrough! The game took me 11 hours to complete. One thing I love about these games is finding the clues/secrets! Its a shame some people rush through these type of games without doing that as I find it adds more to the game and experience. I loved the improved gameplay features in this and the added inventory! You didn't take to it but I loved using the camera that Mark had. The only thing I wasn't a massive fan of was the fusebox puzzles, not that they were hard but it just wasn't for me. Out of the main 5, Erin and Mark were my favourite characters! The police officer you saw before they finally left the island was the same actor who played Salim in House of Ashes! We saw Joseph Morello's body on the dock, there was another pair of feet next to his which means his young daughter was also killed! I'm so excited for S2 of this Anthology series! I mean we obviously know the next one is going to be space-themed but I'm also curious on what other stories we will get. **SPOILER ABOUT SAVING JAMIE IN THE HOMESTEAD** - Saving all 3 in the homestead: You needed to tell Kate to hide instead of asking her to help you. "Jamie takes Connie into the closet while Kate hides separately. Connie growls as Du'Met approaches, and Jamie has the option to stab the dog. Spare the dog instead of stabbing it: "Connie barks at Du'Met, but Kate comes out of hiding and smashes Du'Met over the head before he can kill anyone. Everyone runs from Du'Met and all survive."
24:00 think this one is teasing its next game(Directive 8020, having a moon as one of the zeros) AND first game of season 2 the Anthropology Series. this game finishing the first season of games of. like little hope showing something to the next game that was Ashley Tisdales character in House of Ashes. You did better than I did my first play through. I killed Erin IMMEDIATELY then lost Charlie in the waste disposal part. Then of course killed them all at the end haha.

I don't know whether you have since found out how you could have saved Jamie, but (I just had to search YT to find an answer), if you had followed your instincts that had served you so well in the game and told Kate to hide instead of help when with Connie, and still not kill Connie, your outcome would result in all three surviving! In Re 1:33. At around 1:12, that's the bodies of an adult and child. When the policeman removes the cover, the man shown is the one who claimed to be Du Met at the beginning. BUT, the curator didn't mark of Du Met's name because the real Du Met is still alive, probably the remaining killer. This was an awesome game, and you played it well!
What I like about 'The Devil in Me' is that there's no ambiguity about what the threat is. There's a mystery around WHO is the murderer, but it's fairly early on established that it isn't anything supernatural.
This was an amazing play through, the reaction Miranda gave when the cat jumped out was the best. Can't wait to see what's next after this and Spider-Man 2. Hope everyone has an amazing day.

I may be a bit late to this. but did you know for the Dark Picture games, you can download something called the "Curator's cut". This basically allows you to replay the story but from a different perspective. In SOME parts of the game you'll take control of a different character than normally and do things that you couldn't have. Have there ever been a scene in a game where you were like, What happened there? Well with the Curator's cut you can see that. For example, in the prologues you play one character. When you play the curator's cut you can play as a different one in the prologue and experience what they did during the prologue and see things from a different perspective.
Thank you very much for playing this for us! It has been quite a ride and it's the perfect mood for Halloween! My theory about the killer(s): I think there are 2 killers, one of them being du Met, the other one being Munday. munday was the last name on the list that's been crossed out, so the one that you killed on the boat was probably him. We know that Munday was supposed to be dead, but his body was just identified by his teeth which is not really enough evidence that he's actually dead. the old lady in the chair was therefore his mother that he removed from her grave as the letter stated. and I think there was more evidence that he is in fact one of the killers.
Let's see, I'll explain the fact that the killer is still alive at the end when he takes the mask again with a theory that I think fits perfectly and justifies it: The reason is that there are 2 killers in the game and there are several reasons to deduce it even though the game doesn't tell you or make you understand it at any time. One of the killers is the real Du'Met who is the one who is still alive and picks up the mask at the end and the other who is the one you kill must be Hector Munday, because if you look at the last scene with the curator we can see all the names that are crossed out in his notebook, that are each of the serial killers. And the last one to be crossed out is Hector Munday but Du'met is not crossed out, which is why he is still alive and it is understood that the one you killed in the boat is Munday. Another thing is that every time you change the scene and character you always get the place where you are, the day and the time. And if you look when you are with Kate and Erin when everyone got separated, it shows that it is 2:23 and before that you were controlling Jamie and we saw that the killer entered on the camera room that you will investigate later with the girls. Then you pass to control Charlie when you discover that he survived the furnace and you can see that the time is exactly the same as with Kate (2:23). And Charlie meets the killer there, where he's trying to escape from the basement in the grinder. If it happens at the same time, it's impossible for the killer to be in the basement and in the camera room at the same time. That's why there must be at least another one. Other proof is that when you're in the part of the maze with Jamie, Kate and Erin, you see that the time is 3:29, there the killer doesn't have a weapon because he lost the knife when he was chasing you through the roofs. Later he picks up an axe that will be the weapon he carries until the end of the game. But then when you are controlling Charlie, who is already outside the hotel, the time is 3:32 (just 3 minutes after when the girls enter to the maze), then he meets Mark and they arrive at that kind of slaughterhouse with all the corpses. Then, the killer reappears but now he is carrying the knife as a weapon and this is supposed to be after the girls and there he already had the axe and he lost the knife. Then you go back to Jamie and get to the house with the dog. There the killer comes out again with the axe and not with the knife, so which means that something doesn't add up there. That is why the only explanation is that there are 2 of them, the one with the axe who is with the girls is Munday, who you end up killing later on the boat, and the other from the slaughterhouse who carries the knife where you are with the boys is another, probably the real Du' Met. By the way, this was also my favourite by far of the anthology. My ranking would be like this: 1. The Devil In Me 2. Little Hope 3. Man of Medan 4. House of Ashes
Something that nobody seems to have noticed, or at least I've not seen anyone commenting it on youtube playthroughs, is that the model for H.H. Holmes is different when he's being convicted than when you see him in the hotel. He has the same voice, but he looks different, surely that's not accidental. I think that hotel Holmes uses the model of the dad in Little Hope and the bad guy from House of Ashes, and the courthouse Holmes the brother from Little Hope. Just another subtle hint that Holmes lives on in other killers.
I got on late I just watched and i finished the Devil in Me and not knowing who was going to get killed off and the identity of the killer and despite being as scary and so messed up of a game i really had a great time watching it and you were a professional with it I'm glad that the main characters survived however, you are the greatest as always and I can't wait to see what you play next Miranda.😎👍
With the exception of Jamie however but still was good though Thank You Miranda oh and before it ended the hand that picked up the ax WOW and the ending with the robots singing was nice and spooky at the same time.❤

Fun fact in early development ,if you manage to kill Charlie or Erin in the early stages of the game,you could trade coins you collected with the curator and he`d give u a choice of reviving Erin or Charlie, but this idea was scrapped off in the end.What a bummer...........
So the coins originally served a more interesting purpose then collectibles. They made it seem like they would yield more intriguing purposes then it was.
Well done Miranda! The inclusion of the H H Holmes story was very cool to me! And I agree RE Phantom and the mask! His/thier outfit was HH Holmes, but that mask was totally phantom! The murder hotel was him, but yes the mom issues, and her body and even the killer imbalming his victims is very Psycho. Again, well done thank you!
I loved watching your playthrough your reactions are so good and well done on only having one death that's really freaking good. This game really caught me a bit by surprise by how good it was after like you seeing mediocre reviews, I was always still going to play it and I loved it as well the story and the atmosphere was so creepy and good. I played it a few months ago now I was way less successful in my playthrough I only had Jamie survive but oh well i'm glad i got somebody to survive. After now seeing you point it out I do see the resemblance with Psycho which is pretty cool. I think with the Anthology games this is my second favourite just behind House of Ashes I really liked that game. Keen to see how the next one goes in space that is going to be interesting.
I know I'm a little (a lot) late with my comment and you might have already replayed the game but your ending was almost the best - to save everyone, including the dog, Jamie should have told Kate to hide instead of help her. If you look up some yt videos of this game, you'll find the videos showing all the possible deaths of all the characters, as well as various types of endings (good, bad, best, worst, secret) and some additional scenes which appear in the game only if you fulfill some specific conditions. If you look up the secret ending, you'll better understand the whole plot - who Du'Met is and why we saw Morello escaping (and then dead) with his daughter. Moreover, idk if you're aware, but Henry Howard Holmes is real - he was the first America's serial killer and I love how his appearance and information about him were used in the game. Also, the hotel in The Devil in Me looks exactly the same as the real one - applause to the creators of the game. I had fun (however it sounds) watching this playthrough. Hey Mirandalorian how are you hope you and toby wan are both okay, great playthrough thankyou so much for choosing a game that a lot of us were telling you about its heart warming to know you really do care about us and ⚠ spoiler alert ⚠ If you wanted to know how to save jamie too its the part where the killer is coming and you can get kate to hide or help you, you should have told kate to HIDE not help,so if you tell kaye to help you jamie dies now if you instead tell kate to hide killer walks right past her hears connie comes to investigate but you still don't hurt connie the dog as jamie then kate will come out with a wepon smack the killer on the head giving jamie herself and connie the dog the chance to run out the cabin and the rest plays out the same also as long as all your charcters jump when theyre supposed to you'll have the 'best' ending giving you the best ending trophie. trophie(sorry for the big letters i dont know how to put writting in bold on my phone)
What I learned from this playthrough. You want Miranda helping you when being chased by a serial killer......unless there is a dog. Then you are dead. Lol
I loved your playthrough and everything, but it drove me nuts that they all ran when they were together. Aside from that, the game was great and your playthrough was amazing to watch.
How to save Jamie in that situation: Kate had to hide in order to have jamie get saved by her basically and not stay together with her and the dog, while also still not killing the dog.
Since you’ve finished the game I’m gonna spoil a secret ending that explains why Joseph Morello was on the ferry. Basically at the end of your playthrough you saw the police man discover Joseph’s and his daughters dead body and they were apart of the last family that checked in. But if you get Erin, Charlie and Jamie killed the killer can capture Mark and Kate (I think if you fail to hide after falling down the hole, I kinda forgot exactly it’s been a while) and because the killer saw a photo of Kate and Mark together because he picks it up when Charlie was hiding as the killer threw their belongings in the grinder he tries to blackmail mark into pretending to be Granthem and lure his next victims otherwise he would inject Kate with the acid you find earlier as mark. Kate begs you not to and if you don’t the killer injects Kate and then gasses mark as seen in the premonition but if you do call then you will do everything that Joseph did when you arrived and I think the group had a child from memory. Then Kate and mark will run away onto the ferry like Jamie saw however the killer stops it as the ferry can be reeled in and he snipes them which is presumably what happened to Joseph Morello and his daughter. Anyway my ranking of the series is 1- House of Ashes 2- The devil in me 3- Little hope 4- Man if Medan I’m a little sad we didn’t get to see the Erin and Jamie kiss at the end though 😭
I knew worse case you would get Jamie killed for an affectionate animal lover choice. That part of the game was confusingly BS. I had the same happened to me, and I learned the hard way how to save them all at that moment. But you wouldn’t know or be able to guess a sure way to survive that bit. It wasn’t necessarily the wrong choice not to kill the dog depending on the prior choice you made with Kate.
I believe to save Jaimie, the dog and Kate you had to have Kate hide separately from Jaimie and then she would have attacked the guy from behind before he could kill Jaimie saving them both.
That shouldn't have gone down that way, two people and a dog? That guy wouldn't have stood a chance. You're right though, they should have taken him out with the screwdriver when they had the chance..
I had issues with the darkness of the game as well and even with the brightness up to max, i still couldn't see anything. That was my only issue with the game, other than that, i loved the game

Then you go back to Jamie and get to the house with the dog. There the killer comes out again with the axe and not with the knife, so which means that something doesn't add up there. That is why the only explanation is that there are 2 of them, the one with the axe who is with the girls is Munday, who you end up killing later on the boat, and the other from the slaughterhouse who carries the knife where you are with the boys is another, probably the real Du' Met.
By the way, this was also my favourite by far of the anthology. My ranking would be like this:

Grantham Du,Met is just Hector Munday's alias and it's apparently an anagram of Herman Mudgett, HH Holmes's real name.
Something that nobody seems to have noticed, or at least I've not seen anyone commenting it on youtube playthroughs, is that the model for H.H. Holmes is different when he's being convicted than when you see him in the hotel. He has the same voice, but he looks different, surely that's not accidental. I think that hotel Holmes uses the model of the dad in Little Hope and the bad guy from House of Ashes, and the courthouse Holmes the brother from Little Hope. Just another subtle hint that Holmes lives on in other killers.
I think the two killers theory makes the most sense as well, but the fact that they are the same height and build is kind of curious.

I enjoyed them all though!
- I was able to save everyone including Connie the dog in my 1st playthrough! The game took me 11 hours to complete.
- One thing I love about these games is finding the clues/secrets! Its a shame some people rush through these type of games without doing that as I find it adds more to the game and experience.
- I loved the improved gameplay features in this and the added inventory! You didn't take to it but I loved using the camera that Mark had. The only thing I wasn't a massive fan of was the fusebox puzzles, not that they were hard but it just wasn't for me.
- Out of the main 5, Erin and Mark were my favourite characters!
- The police officer you saw before they finally left the island was the same actor who played Salim in House of Ashes!
- We saw Joseph Morello's body on the dock, there was another pair of feet next to his which means his young daughter was also killed!
- I'm so excited for S2 of this Anthology series! I mean we obviously know the next one is going to be space-themed but I'm also curious on what other stories we will get.
***SPOILER ABOUT SAVING JAMIE IN THE HOMESTEAD***
- Saving all 3 in the homestead: You needed to tell Kate to hide instead of asking her to help you. "Jamie takes Connie into the closet while Kate hides separately. Connie growls as Du'Met approaches, and Jamie has the option to stab the dog. Spare the dog instead of stabbing it: "Connie barks at Du'Met, but Kate comes out of hiding and smashes Du'Met over the head before he can kill anyone. Everyone runs from Du'Met and all survive."

Fun fact in early development ,if you manage to kill Charlie or Erin in the early stages of the game,you could trade coins you collected with the curator and he`d give u a choice of reviving Erin or Charlie, but this idea was scrapped off in the end.What a bummer...........
So the coins originally served a more interesting purpose then collectibles. They made it seem like they would yield more intriguing purposes then it was.

Well done Miranda! The inclusion of the H H Holmes story was very cool to me! And I agree RE Phantom and the mask! His/thier outfit was HH Holmes, but that mask was totally phantom! The murder hotel was him, but yes the mom issues, and her body and even the killer imbalming his victims is very Psycho. Again, well done thank you!

I loved watching your playthrough your reactions are so good and well done on only having one death that's really freaking good. This game really caught me a bit by surprise by how good it was after like you seeing mediocre reviews, I was always still going to play it and I loved it as well the story and the atmosphere was so creepy and good.
I played it a few months ago now I was way less successful in my playthrough I only had Jamie survive but oh well i'm glad i got somebody to survive. After now seeing you point it out I do see the resemblance with Psycho which is pretty cool. I think with the Anthology games this is my second favourite just behind House of Ashes I really liked that game. Keen to see how the next one goes in space that is going to be interesting.

I know I'm a little (a lot) late with my comment and you might have already replayed the game but your ending was almost the best - to save everyone, including the dog, Jamie should have told Kate to hide instead of help her. If you look up some yt videos of this game, you'll find the videos showing all the possible deaths of all the characters, as well as various types of endings (good, bad, best, worst, secret) and some additional scenes which appear in the game only if you fulfill some specific conditions. If you look up the secret ending, you'll better understand the whole plot - who Du'Met is and why we saw Morello escaping (and then dead) with his daughter.
Moreover, idk if you're aware, but Henry Howard Holmes is real - he was the first America's serial killer and I love how his appearance and information about him were used in the game. Also, the hotel in The Devil in Me looks exactly the same as the real one - applause to the creators of the game.

If you wanted to know how to save jamie too its the part where the killer is coming and you can get kate to hide or help you, you should have told kate to HIDE not help,so if you tell kaye to help you jamie dies now if you instead tell kate to hide killer walks right past her hears connie comes to investigate but you still don't hurt connie the dog as jamie then kate will come out with a wepon smack the killer on the head giving jamie herself and connie the dog the chance to run out the cabin and the rest plays out the same also as long as all your charcters jump when theyre supposed to you'll have the 'best' ending giving you the best ending trophie. trophie(sorry for the big letters i dont know how to put writting in bold on my phone)

What I learned from this playthrough. You want Miranda helping you when being chased by a serial killer......unless there is a dog. Then you are dead. Lol
I loved your playthrough and everything, but it drove me nuts that they all ran when they were together. Aside from that, the game was great and your playthrough was amazing to watch.
How to save Jamie in that situation:
Kate had to hide in order to have jamie get saved by her basically and not stay together with her and the dog, while also still not killing the dog.
When you trap first killer in between two walls in episode 4 ,,, the other killer free him.......

Jamie died a little earlier for me. Erin died at the end. And House of Ashes was my favorite.
I definitely recommend reacting to the other ending for more context/ closure!

Since you’ve finished the game I’m gonna spoil a secret ending that explains why Joseph Morello was on the ferry.
Basically at the end of your playthrough you saw the police man discover Joseph’s and his daughters dead body and they were apart of the last family that checked in. But if you get Erin, Charlie and Jamie killed the killer can capture Mark and Kate (I think if you fail to hide after falling down the hole, I kinda forgot exactly it’s been a while) and because the killer saw a photo of Kate and Mark together because he picks it up when Charlie was hiding as the killer threw their belongings in the grinder he tries to blackmail mark into pretending to be Granthem and lure his next victims otherwise he would inject Kate with the acid you find earlier as mark. Kate begs you not to and if you don’t the killer injects Kate and then gasses mark as seen in the premonition but if you do call then you will do everything that Joseph did when you arrived and I think the group had a child from memory. Then Kate and mark will run away onto the ferry like Jamie saw however the killer stops it as the ferry can be reeled in and he snipes them which is presumably what happened to Joseph Morello and his daughter.
Anyway my ranking of the series is

I knew worse case you would get Jamie killed for an affectionate animal lover choice. That part of the game was confusingly BS. I had the same happened to me, and I learned the hard way how to save them all at that moment. But you wouldn’t know or be able to guess a sure way to survive that bit. It wasn’t necessarily the wrong choice not to kill the dog depending on the prior choice you made with Kate.
I believe to save Jaimie, the dog and Kate you had to have Kate hide separately from Jaimie and then she would have attacked the guy from behind before he could kill Jaimie saving them both.

I had issues with the darkness of the game as well and even with the brightness up to max, i still couldn't see anything. That was my only issue with the game, other than that, i loved the game
