ohhhhhhhhhh deeeeeeeeeeeeeeath.........OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH Won't you spare me over 'til another yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeear? God, i loved this game so much....
I remember being really underwhelmed when I first finished this game but then I went down a Reddit loophole and there are so many interesting quirks to this game with how Anthony perceives his family and also how that relates to not only their “current” but also their “past” form. For example, I was pretty werided out when I realised that Anthony perceived his adopted siblings to be in a relationship in the modern timeline but going back into their actual timeline, he’s perceived them as that because Dennis was upset that Tanya spent more time with her boyfriend than with the family. There’s also a possible hint that Dennis liked Tanya in their timeline and that was why Taylor and Daniel wanted to keep their relationship a secret in the modern day, as they didn’t want their “mother” to know. It’s all just so interesting when you go in deeper😭
Wow. Angela aside, you absolutely killed it, Miranda. Like, you don't even realise how well you did. All fourth of Anthony's representations of his family can die at the very end in the house following everything you made them say and do troughout the game. And you made every good decision possible. You made Taylor selfless and had her confront her demon alone, picking the Heroic option and telling Daniel to go without her. You made John brave and responsible, had him refuse the drink (James was an alcoholic) and also picked the heroic option at the door. You made Daniel humble and altruistic, and confronted his demon alone in the factory. All of this represents how things could have went for the family if they didn't have all of these issues. If they don't evolve and Anthony fails to protect them, their demons catch up with them and that part of his personality is destroyed : If you fail to save any of them, Anthony is desperate and commits suicide. That's why he's the only one who doesn't have a demon. The story itself is his demon. That whole night of PTSD combined with the history of Little Hope is about him eventually deciding to blame Megan for the fire, or forgiving her and blame the local pastor, Carson, who was presumably abusing her. And ultimately getting over it. Or not getting over it and ending himself. Also, another evidence that wasn't in the flashback : Andrew has a whole argument with John about smashing a window with a stone, where John suggests that he's under pressure. That's because the last time he saw his actual dad, James, he smashed the window with a stone, only to see him getting crushed seconds later. Fantastic playthrough overall, can't wait for House of Ashes !! (my favorite character is the one with the military snare drum playing in the background whenever he shows up :)) You'll recognize him immediately, he's got the best accent)
wow this is so awesome! and idk if the choices had anything to do with it, but honestly, i actually felt really attached to the character by the end of this game specifically! the end felt really rewarding for me!
Yeah, i agree characters are much greater in this and in House of Ashes than in the first game. Also - aaah sorry to make super long comments about the lore but i love this game so much! - those faceless figures in the flashbacks are mannequins from the museum. Anthony's mind used them to represent the villagers, just like he imagined the guy who saw him holding the matches as the Judge, who would eventually decide his fate. And Isaac in the flashbacks is the cop from the beginning, which Anthony saw as a figure of authority. Ok i'll stop now, but i can't help guessing and searching for hidden parallels and meaning :)
Heres my interpretation and very long essay (Sorry for the reading): Anthony who is now a bus driver after surviving a house fire when he was younger is on a drive somewhere. On the way a road closure forces him to take a detour through his home town. After entering the town he sees a hallucination of his younger sister and crashes the bus which triggers a sort of psychosis due to to all the built up trauma. The scenario he imagines is a situation where him and his family (in a detached version of themselves) are being chased by demons of themselves. The only way for them to actually survive is for all of the characters (except andrew) to become better a version of the characters they were in the prologue. Anne in the prologue ignored Megan and was very abrasive towards everyone so Angela needed to be understanding in order to survive, James in the prologue ignored his family and was a drunk so John needed to be a heroic leader and not drink in order to survive, Tanya in the prologue was very much of a solo person so Taylor needs to be a team player in order to survive, and finally Dennis in the prologue was very selfish and rude so Daniel needed to be selfless and nice in order to survive. All this is Anthony imaging his family as better people or at least them becoming better people. (You didn't see this in your playthrough, but if a character dies due to the demons in this game, a bunch of traits show up and show you that you failed to change them and at the end of the game right before you leave the house, any character who hasnt changed will be trapped in the house and their demon will kill them) My interpretation of the witch trials is that its symbolic of whether Anthony forgives Megan for causing the fire or not. -Do you forgive Mary and put the blame on the abusive Reverend Carson (Blame Carver ending)? -Do you forgive Mary and see the fire as an accident cause by a misplaced doll (Burn the doll ending)? -Do you blame Mary and think she is evil and did it on purpose (Blame Mary ending)? Lastly some minor details I noticed: 1. The Judge (Judge Wyman) has the face of Anthony's neighbor who walks up to him right after the fire happens and asks "What have you done?" 2. The person with Carver at 41:04 has the face of the cop that talks to Anthony and gives him the news of the detour to little hope. 3. Other than the main family, the cop, and the neighbor, no other face appears in the witch trials which is why every other face is blanked out. 4. The prologue we see is how Anthony interpreted the event rather than what actually happened (Andrew said he saw a dream of them in a fire) which is why Megan feels super scary and creepy in the prologue. He blames her for the fire but throughout the game, he is able to forgive her (unless you blamed Mary). Loved this playthrough Miranda! So excited for you to start House of Ashes. It's the best of the series (though it has a less interesting story and plot than Little Hope.) Anyway #TeamTaylor
So far Little Hope sucks the most. It tried to be clever and just became...meh. They should have just held to the witch trials being a legit thing. This story wasn't interesting and the plot wasn't good, so that doesn't bode well for House of Ashes if it is worse.

If you wanted to really condemn Carver, you should’ve said “Carver is evil” instead of “There’s something wrong in this town”. Anyway, I really liked this game. I loved Daniel and John’s character growth. Both stood up to the plate and fought their own demons, and were badasses. I really loved the father-son relationship John and Andrew had. John saying they’ve all had a rough night after Andrew blamed himself was a really nice moment. Andrew helping John escape his demon was a great moment as well.
So let me get this straight. I guess he must have left Little Hope after the house fire and never came back, but he also never dealt with his trauma. Then, through coincidence or maybe fate (probably fate!), he found himself in the town again, and his trauma and being dazed from the crash caused him to have a psychotic break. I suppose all of that got smooshed together with his memory of the witch trial history of the town (and of course the clear parallels between that and what happened in the house fire) -- thus the executions and the vengeful monsters as figurative representations of his trauma. And of course, the little girl was at the centre of it all because in his trauma, his little sister was the cause of the fire. I remember when I finished the game ages ago, I was way past my bedtime, and I think I micro-napped at a few key moments near the end! Lol ANYWAY ... Also, Vince is still in the town, his dead sister's boyfriend! So has he just been living in the town all these years, even after it became abandoned, because he also was unable to let go -- a figurative ghost haunting the town?
Very good playthrough! Think this one is the "a bit better than okay" ending. There's a few endings that range from sadly tragic and dark, to wholesome. You did manage to not have to fight off everything in the house at the end which I hadn't seen anyone do so far!

I loved watching you play this game! So much better than Man of Medan! I personally really liked the ending but not a lot of people did unfortunately. I was able to save everyone in my 1st playthrough! Its such a tragic story though and I got a little emotional when it transitions from young Anthony to older Anthony. The fact he blamed himself for all those years and experienced so much trauma!😢 One of the highlights from this game for me was The Curator's big 🍑!😂 I can't wait to see you play House of Ashes!😆
from what i understand theres until dawn, man of medan, little hope, house of ashes, the new devil one (not out yet right?), and the new quarry?? what ones am i missing?! i didnt know there were 8!
Totally wild right? I remember when I first saw the game ending I absolutely hated it because it ended in a similar way to the last game with things not being real. But I've seen a few playthroughs since and I actually kinda like the ending now. Either way, it was cleverly constructed. I can't wait until you play house of ashes, it's definitely my favourite out of the 3 dark pictures games. The overall structure is a bit more reminiscent of until dawn. By that I mean more options and consequences. It is much more replayable.
I didn't like this one, it felt like the writers were trying to be clever but it just invalidated the story. If they just removed the bit about it all being in his head it could have tied up better, but meh. Until Dawn remains their best by a loooong shot, although I haven't played House of Ashes yet. I hope they put a bit more care in moving forward.
One major thing that disappointed me with these is the fact that they had rational explanations for what was going on instead of full-blown supernatural! I was really hoping it would be actual scary stuff, not it being in their heads! I still thought this story was the best one so far!
@@TheMirandalorian Yeah, especially after doing the same thing in Man of Medan. Sometimes "real" can be scarier, but they pulled the same twist twice now and it lost its potency. I love this style and the vibe, so I'm hopeful they learn and improve, there's so much potential!
But their survival represents their redemption in his mind. It's why their personality traits, and smaller actions, can doom them. He can either remember them at their best, or their worst. If their best is what is focused on, he can find peace with them.
@@TheMirandalorian The Uncharted series is one of my favorites, and the fourth just blew it out of the park. Really wish they would do another. (With Drake)

I loved watching you play this game! So much better than Man of Medan! I personally really liked the ending but not a lot of people did unfortunately. I was able to save everyone in my 1st playthrough! Its such a tragic story though and I got a little emotional when it transitions from young Anthony to older Anthony. The fact he blamed himself for all those years and experienced so much trauma!😢
One of the highlights from this game for me was The Curator's big 🍑!😂
I can't wait to see you play House of Ashes!😆
Are you play all 8 dark pictures game
Pretty sure she will~
from what i understand theres until dawn, man of medan, little hope, house of ashes, the new devil one (not out yet right?), and the new quarry?? what ones am i missing?! i didnt know there were 8!
until dawn and the quarry not part Dark Pictures games
THE Craven Man. Directive 8020. Intercession and WInterfold Next dark pictures game after the devil in me
Yes the devil in me not out yet
Hi MAranda what other games are you playing in April May you should try Dying Light 2 also Miranda is Dead too maybe
House of Ashes now?
most definitely!
Better believe it cause it's true. Your were shocked to find out the truth. Never that of this turn of events. Good game.
I didn't see u not getting the pastor u almost had best ending if Angela lived and u blame pastor it's perfect ending
I love this style and the vibe, so I'm hopeful they learn and improve, there's so much potential!
great ending. love the twist. but it kinda ruins my motivation to play it again to get "all the outcomes" since... well, you know.
Yeah this one definitely has less replayability for that reason
But their survival represents their redemption in his mind. It's why their personality traits, and smaller actions, can doom them. He can either remember them at their best, or their worst. If their best is what is focused on, he can find peace with them.
How did you like Uncharted 4? And what did you think of how they ended the series?
short answer: i loved it. the last video goes up tomorrow and i give a lot of my thoughts at the very end!
@@TheMirandalorian The Uncharted series is one of my favorites, and the fourth just blew it out of the park. Really wish they would do another. (With Drake)
21:01 ok
Oh yeah! 😁
love watching u play but all i can say is the makers of until dawn should never have sold out to sony, this is so bad compared to until dawn, good concept , terible dialogue, execution , and directing
to all the people with skitzofrenia and multiple personality dissorders to all of you just have a little hope
