- You definitely turned your pain into purpose, and I commend you! That man was 1000% racist, and I would have told him to take his apology and shove it. How dare he be allowed to keep his job after saying that to a student? I don’t care how old he was, and how close he was to retirement. Same exact thing happened to me. I was a finance major at a PWI. Except my encounter was with a business college advisor who basically told me I shouldn’t even apply. ( I had a 3.8 GPA) and all A’s in the business college pre-requisites. I left and cried in my dorm room. Then applied the next day and was accepted.

I have never experienced racism but I have def experienced sexism. I am retired from the financial industry and you are right....it is heavily male dominated. I have been passed over for promotions, paid less and given sh#$$y assignments because of my gender. Using that experience to drive you higher was the best thing you could have done.

OMG! I can not believe how you were treated! I am white & have many friends of all colors! I have always treated people like people not by the color of their skin! I have known a few co workers who cried racism everytime they didn't get their way I still treated them with respect. We are all humans & shouldn't be judged by the color of our skin. You will be very successful in life! I pray no one ever treats you like this again, but I'm sure if they do you will handle yourself beautifully! People do things without thinking but it’s fine we have the opportunity to see reality. There was this one time where I went to hangout with my friends and out of no where this girl talks to me keep I mind I don’t know her so I just keep walking and she says to her friends that I didn’t know English and they were laughing 😂 it was something that bothered me because she just took a look at me and assumed I wasn’t from the US but I am and I knew what she said 🙄 but I just enjoy my day with my friends and now I look back at the moment and start laughing because she thought she was being slick and funny 😂🚪

I wish you hadn’t used a tutorial video to give a story time. It would’ve been a lot more helpful if the voiceover was actually explaining what to do.
