Crystal as Jessica Rabbit is the best choice for this video.
Nah. Tony.
Helped the views a lot I bet
@@JohnnyBurnes definitely Tony
They actually give you a pretty good clue as to Judge Doom's true form. Rewatch the scenes in RK Maroon's office and pay attention to the cartoon posters on the wall. Every poster features a character you see in the movie (Roger Rabbit, Baby Herman, etc.) except for one: there's a poster of a mysterious cartoon character named Pistol Packin' Possum holding the same gun Doom shot Maroon with later in movie. And in that first scene in the office, PPP's gun is always pointing at Maroon. Once you notice it, you can't unsee it.
I can picture that poster, never thought about it like that. Nice. I think in the book he shot Bambi's mom
@@dustywaynemusic6297 They had originally joked that Judge Doom was the hunter in Bambi but I don't think it was ever made canon.
or, OR..the poster only exists for the site gag where the silhouette of the pistol is superimposed over it. and judge doom isn't actually a possum.
@@jimvarney511 Entirely plausible.
thanks guy
Saw Crystal and immediately decided “yup this is the video”
@@OmegaRedFan Autoerotic manipulation.
Saw Newt in bunny years and said yup this is the one.
Crystal gonna make my head turn into a howling wolf and then a train whistle 😳
The red cars did exist in LA back then, and they were actually very good. And yes the push for cars and freeways did them in.
Something I didn't hear mentioned, Judge Doom's eyes at the end pop out as daggers. That's a reference to the idea of "Staring daggers" at someone.
I thought they were bananas for entirely too long.
Honestly I typically click as soon as I see Crystal; but man seeing her as Jessica Rabbit really made my day. Thanks for that, and the review
Crystal as Jessica Rabbit oh my

Terrifying as Judge Doom's reveal (and the lead up to it) is, Bob Hoskins is what really makes that scene for me. Just that look of absolute, uncomprehending horror on his face... He really sells that moment hard.
Newt describing at the end what Indy 5 would end up being made me die inside. Oh god, they would do that.
They did that with Boba Fett in Mandolorian
As an Italian, I'm definitely with Tony on Bob Hoskins being cast as Mario. Newt, while John Leguizamo is mostly Puerto Rican/Colombian, he is actually partially of Italian descent through his father. That and, as a massive fan of his, I'll allow it.
Tony isn’t Italian, he’s American
I knew Crystal was this world's Jessica Rabbit all along.
That's Lauren Phillips
i am beyond proud to own the copy of roger rabbit you used for this! thanks for signing them also! you guys were a blast to hang with! stay awesome!
Newt,Tony and Crystal are my Monday night dream team.
I like how the signed picture of a nun behind Tony gives the illusion of devil horns on Tony in like half of the frames of just Tony
Oh no, get ready for the Crystal-Simping:D
Noone‘s gonna mention how cool and buff Tony looks?
No.
Get your eyes checked.
he is pretty buff
@@newtonwallen3210 buff? I love tony but cmon hes very overweight
He’s not only buff, but he’s also super famous! Did you know he was in The Dark Knight rises?
Crystal looks amazing as Jessica :o
@@OmegaRedFan we get it, you're jealous of other people being attracted to Crystal. Go take a cold shower.
the quiet after Crystal tells her parents' story is hilarious lol
My fiancee and I were listening. I looked at her with us having a baby girl 5 months ago and said "How would you have felt if I looked at you and said were gonna have us a Jessica rabbit." In which she responded how weirded and freaked out she would be. Gotta go back and see their facial expressions now!
This was great! My wife shouting down the hallway like, "oh yeah!" to every callback you all made. Wonderful episode.
There was a full-sized maquettte of Roger made to use as a lighting reference. Also the plate smashing scene was done with a simple robot that they painted over.
Once again we're 10 minutes to premiere and there's already a downvote. Is anyone else sick of Justin Silversman downvoting Tony's videos before they've even aired?
Tony is so much better than Justin. Tony wins life

“Who’s Harry Crumb?” has a punctuation mark, in its title.
And it was a box office disappointment and got savaged by critics...
@@MusicVersa, true…doesn’t change the fact that there’s punctuation in the title.
@@energyturtle5141 Didn't they say most movies don't do this because it's "cursed" and films that do it do poorly? So "Who's Harry Crumb?" just supports that.
@@MusicVersa, maybe…I just liked the movie.
I miss john candy
Edit the audio for the Lena Hyena scene, replace the "a Maaaaaaan!" part with Crystal's "Yeeeeeees!" audio 😆 🤣 😂 looking forward to this review, should be interesting.
Make Crystal sing “Why don’t you do right” to Justin.
We’re here for Crystal. They’re lucky she hangs out with them lol
"Remember me, Tony? When I traumatized your childhood, I talked JUST...LIKE...THIS!"
Johanna?
Wonder what this is about lol
She looks pretty spot on to me with the jessica look
Really enjoyed this. Re-watched my DVD copy less than a year ago and agree with everything you all said and noted. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
When you get down to the visual storytelling and how brilliantly Zemekis did that, you realize his genuine and how much modern films are missing it.
Love the L.A. Noire name drop, it’s one of my favorite video games of all time, wished they’d make another one. Thanks Tony, Newt and Crystal y’all are the best.
I love the game too. But unfortunately the company that made it went bankrupt.
I would like to see a remake of this movie with Crystal as Jessica Rabbit, Newt as Roger, Tony as Eddie Valiant, and Justin as Judge Doom.
Same
You almost had perfect casting, but James Rolfe needs to be Judge Doom.
@@Dartanyoogles my exact thought. Beat me to it
Hey Guys and Gal! A few things to mention here for ya! First of all, I love the show! 2nd: Newt, I had the same toys back when I was growing up, and I also remembered a story book+cassette tape thingy. It was a red tape and my brothers and I recorded over it loooong ago. Kinda wish we hadn't now. Lol Tony, I am totally with you about the Mario "situation". I am not Italian, but as a Mario Brothers fan, I am 100% behind you there. And now, 3rd (best for last) Crystal, you are the most beautiful Jessica Rabbit I ever saw. If it were a Holly Wood (Cool World) VS Jessica Rabbit (WFRR) You as the live Jessica Rabbit beats ANY Holly ANY time! You guys are awesome! Thanks for some refreshing/quality entertainment in these dark times!
I'm so glad other people remember Greg the Bunny.
Damn I loved this movie. I got this as a christmas gift from my grandma in the early 90s being a 7 or 8 year old kid. So good. Saw it for 10 bucks on blu ray a few years back on boxing day and had to snag it.
I saw this in the theater too! One of the first movies I ever saw in the theater. Judge Doom made my sister cry.
Crystal looks amazing! Well done
This is crystal most powerful form yet
The public transportation being bought out by Cloverleaf actually mirrored what happened in LA in real life around the same time. A syndicate of auto related manufacturers (Firestone is the main one that comes to mind) bought out the Red Car public transport and got rid of it, essentially turning LA into a car town, reliant on freeways.
Crystal looks amazing as Jessica
You guys finally did it.. I tried to resist for months, but I guess it's time for me to start simping for Crystal.. Tony you getting crazy buff my man, Newt is fun as always.
Holy Fcuk! Crystal is so freaking amazing in this episode.
I came here for Crystal but stayed for the content.
"Who framed Roger Rabbit", good choice. Still curious what it would've been if it was like the novel it's based on "Who censored Roger Rabbit?". that aside Crystal as Jessica was a cool choice for the review.
She's clearly Lena Hyena
Toon town would be a bunch of cross dressing gender fluid cartoonsbeing persecuted by antifa and pink cat eared wearing people bitching that Lil and Phil from rugrats is sexist
In the book, when cartoons talk they actually cause talk bubbles to appear. So every time Rodger says something Eddie has to take it down and fold it up and put it to the side. That alone would have pushed the budget for this movie through the roof.
I'm trying to remember, I don't have the book I only have the sequel. It seems like the author of the book didn't really get a lot out of the movie adaptation financially, if I remember correctly the last I saw he was struggling to get the books reprinted.
I can tell you in the sequel Eddie is dating Jessica sister, who is a 6in tall duplicate of herself
@@cthulhupthagn5771 But, I thought doppelgangers dissipate after a short period? That certainly was the case in the original story.
The character that says, "A man!" is Lena Hyena.
C'mon guys. Crystal looks much more like Jessica Rabbit.
She looks nothing like Lena Hyena.
@@dopy8418 BLASPHEMY!!! 🙄😳😏🤭😂🤣
I'm here for my boy Newt!!! 🤷♂️🤘 😜 And also Crystal and... that other guy that's famous or something.... Whatever....
Three Roger Rabbit theatrical shorts made: 1989's Tummy Trouble (included with Honey, I Shrunk the Kids), 1990's Rollercoaster Rabbit-the only one rated PG and not G (included with Dick Tracy) and Trail-Mix Up from 1993 (included with A Far Off Place).
going to any theme park here in LA sucks complete and utter balls. trust me. i live in Los Angeles. apart from the traffic, you also have to deal with the ppl IN the theme park. i love six flags tho 👍🏻
Omg! Now please review a Powerpuff Girls movie and have crystal dress as Miss Sara Bellum 😍🔥
Only if they have her face out of frame the entire review. Not that I don't want to see her face, but it'd be hilarious.
Great episode guys!
I never saw the tar baby as a racist thing. then again, I don't constantly think of racism like everyone else.
And people need to stop doing that.
Crystal in the thumbnail: "Freshin' a drink nen Guvnah!"
I’m just here for crystal dressed as Jessica Rabbit 🤷🏻♂️
i clicked for Crystal
I remember having a Roger rabbit Halloween costume. The kind with the face mask that collected condensation and the plastic that could slice cheese.
Damn crystal went all out on using contacts.
I remember that story Newt was talking about but it wasn't a record, just the book. Bruce Wayne was training to be Batman and to learn from a great detective he dresses up as Robin (the detective names him after Robin Hood). It was all part of a storyline where someone was destroying Batman things.
47:50 Crystal farms when laughing
I will definitely be checking it out later keep up the awesome work guys
Surprised no one made a joke about Donald calling Daffy the n word.
0:45 Oh, Crystal...! 😍 Why have I not discovered you yet?
I would say "Alien 3 dammit!" again but that would be too disrespectful to this film which I just cant do... and neither space jam or cool world could f*** with the greatness of Roger Rabbit.
This made my day. Love it! This is great!
Oh dear lord, the flushing of all the "dip" into the sewrer sounds like an ecological disaster waiting to happen. just spewing benzene toluene and acetone out to the sewer lmao
Never mind the poor Toon fish or, for us '80s kids, the TMNT.
Newt should have worn the jessica rabbit dress
i wanted to
@@newtonwallen3210 live your best life man. Hope your feeling better btw.
Oh hey, apparently Hook is next or really soon after this! I wonder who's gonna dress up as who for it if Crystal and Newt are as dedicated as in this review.
Well obviously Crystal should be Peter Pan, Newt should be Tinkerbell, and Tony should be Smee.
9:32 Tony's sly look at Crystal's boobs. Hahaha, caught you, my man!
I have to say Crystal is absolutely stunningly beautiful!!!!
I see you, Crystal 👀
ZAZ “top secret!“ had punctuation and it bombed.
This movie was one of my favorites growing up and it’s still a pretty good movie that stands the test of time.
Judge Doom was a great villain with creepy mannerisms.
It’s a classic.
HELLLLLS YES!!! Crystal enjoys Muppets!!!! Now I know who I'll be talking to at conventions if I ever see her.
Daffy vs Donald in a piano contest was a great battle
Damn crystal looking badder than Jessica rabbit
I was really hoping to see Newt dressed as Jessica Rabbit, but I guess Crystal will do....
Prepare for the highest-rated episode in Hack the Movies history...and may I suggest "Barb Wire" next? 👍👇
Damned simps....
A couple things you guys didn't mention:
1-The original book featured comic book characters instead of cartoon characters. But obviously they changed it because it made more sense too and is a much more fun movie overall because of it.
2-I believe the original voice actor for Roger was supposed to be Peewee himself? I think there is some animatics on youtube of it.
3-The Donald and Daffy scene was supposed to be much longer and they were to fight each other more.
4-Also when Jessica Rabbit appears the Tex Avery Wolf was supposed to whistle at her. That was cut.
5-There was supposed to be more weasels, but it was just too much to animate
6-The toon way to die is normal for them. They can come back from that. Like in Tom and Jerry. But the dip is a permanent death.
7-You missed the Funeral deleted scene which is supposed to feature the toons crying over Acme. An Entire day passes by before Jessica Rabbit shows up at Eddie's Office. It was supposed to feature Foghorn Leghorn as the priest. Tom and Jerry. Felix the Cat. Mighty Mouse. Superman! Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Bluto. Heckle and Jeckle. Horace Horsecollar. Clarabelle Cow. Porky and Petunia Pig. Droopy. Andy Panda. Horace and Katnip. George and Junior. Sylvester. Baby Huey. Tubby the Tuba. Three Little Pigs. Goofy. Yosemite Sam. Elmer Fudd and the harlequin clown. Bugs and Mickey. And at the end of the scene Casper was supposed to chase everyone away XD.
8-After that there is the infamous pig head scene which is on RUclips which Eddie takes off in the shower and thats why he comes out of the shower before Jessica shows up.
9-There was also a missing scene with Dick Tracy which would have made sense, but I guess it was cut :(
10-Judge Doom is actually Pistol Packin Possum. He worked for Maroon along with Roger. So it makes sense why he hates him. There is a poster of him in Maroon's studio when Eddie goes there. Also you can just look it up on Google images. The same gun literally pears into the window where the poster is and Doom has the exact same gun and his eyes are red like dooms. His squeaky voice and extendable limbs also make sense as well as him working with weasels. That stupid spinoff comic about Judge Doom's origins is NOT canon.
11-Lena Hyena (the fake roger rabbit) was actually from a comic book. She is actually really disgusting looking in the comic and is drawn by one of the MAD magazine illustrators.
Newt should do better research next time! JK I am kinda this movie's number one fan lol.
PS: I also have an idea for a sequel lol
all good facts. we shoot 2 or 3 of these at a time and i am very old and tired.
@@newtonwallen3210 Hahaha. No its all good Newt!
This movie is why “Bee Movie” exists (at least in the form it does). A relative of mine worked on this movie and it got him to jump from Disney to Amblin. From Amblin he got recruited to Dreamworks Animation when it was founded and went on to direct “Bee Movie”.
John Leguizamo descended from Italians. You can be Latin and Italian. More than half of Argentina's population is of Italian descent.
Indeed.
I got some Spanish and Italian, yeah it happens
Favorite movie of all time.
Who's Harry Crumb? :-P
I remember rodger rabbit at disney when i was a kid it was by the Muppets and honey i shrunk the kids park was close to it as well loved it. Keep up the great videos 🤘
Crystal 🤩
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?
What's Up Doc?
What About Bob?
Dude, Where's My Car?
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Id like to recommend paying for small poster adds around your town in the subways/metro/taxi stops instead of paying for Dark Knight Rises return ships (for now). this shows tooooooooo good for 30k views average. love you guys!
I remember the ADR thing at Disney from when I went there as a kid too! I totally forgot about it until Tony mentioned it and now I remember clear as day. I think it was from the scene just after they get to the bar and go into the secret room in the back and Eddie shows Roger the photo of Acme’s will. I was too young to read that fast so my Dad had to feed me the lines.
My grandmother loved Betty Boop.
I feel bad for anyone who wasn't there when Roger Rabbit came out. Way to go, not existing yet!!!! ;)
I have a few things i got over the last several years related to the movie; a laserdisc copy, which looks fantastic, a jessica rabbit doll, who i never see merch for and that storybook/record and a cassette tape.
Crystal, I'd say some lame thing about not needing Jessica's boobs because it's about heart, but yeah, Jessica's boobs are a big part of her character.
Crystal always looks so good. The hanging munchkin is a real thing. I've seen both versions of the scene. The one with the bird is a edited re release. In the original u can clearly see something hanging n swinging in the background in the trees. If u search it on RUclips it's not hard to find
No, it's not. It was always a bird. It was large crane flapping its wings.
I remember back when this first came out that the Director, Robert Zemeckis said he would never make another movie like this one again because it was the most difficult to film
I had the Empire Strikes Back record book and when R2 whistled you'd turn the page. Those books were awesome
Newt, I appreciate the Harvey reference too
The sambo figure, is the pitch figure from "Song of the South"
Love how Joey knit picks the effects lol it's a 36 year old movie
Awesome thanks love you guys
So I love the channel, love the show, love all of you hosting and I am one of the rare loyal subscribers that watch every video that gets posted no matter the film or subject!
I preface ALL that to say/ask can Tony go 1 whole video, if not a weeks worth of videos, without making any annoying, sarcastic, passive aggressive mentions of political Twitter mobs, offending those that are easily offended or your most frequent bit: ‘Star Wars Prequels are good now’!? Frankly if Newt is cut off from name dropping celebrities and telling long winded stories about his relationship with film surely Tony can do the same with his ‘jokes’, right?!
So I say either make it a challenge where for every Newt story we endure one of Tony’s annoying bits, and vice versa? Or, Tony can you see how long you can go with your ‘comedic’ routine? 😜 TBH I actually like Newts name drop stories...
OH, and Crystal looks NOTHING LIKE Lena Hyena, the cartoon screaming “A Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnn!!!” Put some respect on Crystal and her name! She AND Johanna are carrying you slackers with their charisma, charm, and beauty!❤️😍😜 And with that I await my doom from the man himself TONY! 🍻
Langley we cross paths to much on here bro. Tap in with me fam. 🤣✊🏿💯💯💯
the whole making her laugh for getting a redhead gf worked for me but to be fair... she was also a big fan of who framed roger rabbit. shes said it unironically when people have asked in the past... Anyway Tone, sorry for liking the pasta face man movie.
