Excellent point! I didn’t think of it that way and now I’m wondering why I didn’t? I’m not as critical as some because a goose egg is a great day under any circumstance, but I definitely noticed the lack of penetration from the D-line. But you are right! Under the previous regime, that team scores at least 20 points, and probably more like 28.

Great overall performance. Gabriel looked fantastic. Having a legitimate backup has freed up Lebby and (it seems) Gabriel as well. Excited to see the improvement continue. Love the aggression on the back end on defense (Pearson and G. Williams). You can still learn from games in which you play not-very-good competition. There were no "dumb" penalties, and fewer missed assignments on defense. There were some dropped balls by Ark. State, which helped us. Love the depth at the D-line position as well. I think we can have a special year.

You need to get some OU legends to show up at Lindsay Street and party with the fans. That will always draw people and get things kicked off, so that people get used to it again. Imagine partying with Boz or Baker or whoever for a couple of hours before the game. You don't even have to do it every time, just get it started and get some media outlets and some DJs. Make it a party atmosphere and it will eventually take off on its own.

Biggest complaints from people are about being able to set up spots the evening prior and the day of being able to drop off gear because of parking is 1/2 mile away! Seems to me tailgating is a culture.
This fanbase isn't use to it and it will hopefully get better each week.
I think we need some awesome advertised events to help jump start it. I just recently heard about Lindsey being open and I assumed there wouldn't be any open spots or I would have went

I think the university did a bad job planning the tailgating. We all just gounf out a week before the game and if you aren't on Twitter you have no idea. Im on Twitter all the time and even i still don't know all the rules. They should of completed this months ago and been telling telling the vans all summer. We were waiting on them to make their mind up.

My biggest complaint is with Our student section, in the 80's We never left and it was loud. I feel like Our students show up and take the pic for there instagram account and then bail, and its over and over. We should put them in the upper deck on the east side that never gets full and let these seat go to "maybe" someone who will show up and stay. Just super sad that Our students suck!

This usually happens at the beginning of every season. We play a crap team at 11:00 and it’s 100+ degrees. They’re facing the sun the whole time. To their credit, they get much better later in the season when it cools off. But it was 100+ degrees for me too and I stayed until the very end, like I always do! They’re just too soft these days.

Gabe How much does going ultra fast vs going ultra strong help vs hurt ???? The O line play ??? example: Against florida state run blocking seemed excellent and because our guys were new to starting did they slow thing down a little vs against A state we seemed to go ultra fast to get them tired ???? I’m not knowlegable enough to evaluate that but I suspect many fans are much more like me, just want to understand our offensive princibles

The most important part of the run game was to control the tempo of the game and keep the d-backs on there heels in the passing game: Game 1 mission accomplished. I'm sure you already know OU didn't dig to deep into the playbooks for this game

This game was 100 percent better than any game Oklahoma played last year. There was better discipline, better physicality, and better motivation. Oklahoma got after it and they should go undefeated, win the Big XII Conference, win a playoff game, and leave everything on the field in the National Championship game.

OU looked good. Ark St. Had several missed opportunities. Missed field goals, dropped passes. Poor execution both sides. The teams OU will face will be better than that moving forward. Opposing coaches will see weaknesses in OUs tapes and look to exploit those. Better receivers will make catches against OU. Better QBs will find open receivers. Different and better offensives will change outcomes of drives.
Different and better defenses will make it harder for DG and OUs offense. However I think OU will stay focused and continue To win.
    Prediction next game OU38/SMU14
SMU will probably give the sooners some problems. Hopefully OU doesn't get too big headed and let it effect them in a negative way next Saturday.

    Re: Lindsey Street
I think the University Admin has to invest some big advertising dollars if they want that place to be bumping. While it’s been all over social media there are still tons of people who aren’t plugged into the social media. Gotta get in talks with the Greek scene and maybe incentivize them to move their tailgates to Lindsey with food, drinks, or something. College kids are lazy, I know I was, and they need a reason to go bake outside all morning. Maybe talk to all the colleges who host their own tailgates and get them to move it to Lindsey. Gotta get the ecosystem in place, it might take some time.

Tailgating traditions take time to build and you can’t just send out a decree and make it so. The fans will have their say. But once it starts and word of mouth spreads then it will be established and become a natural part of the gameday experience. And living in SEC country I promise you; it will pick up next year when the visiting fans show up early to mingle and see the campus. That will bring more Sooner fans to the tailgate, especially fans who don’t have tickets to enjoy the experience.
