    I’m glad I found this - I tore the battery terminal off the motherboard on accident and now I know where I can resolder the leads to hopefully get the controller working again! Now to get steadier hands! Thank you, sir!

    Can you just solder the wires on a battery to the positive and negative pads on the motherboard?

    I do the same thing that you did but my controller still not working, before this my battery connector I check was completely fine but still not working for some how. I did use my voltmeter but there is no power that coming out from the battery after I plug into the connector. please DMs for furthermore talking about this problem

    What if i accidentally ripped the port, can i simply sold it back to the motherboard? It's an old controller, so it doesn't have that wiring in it as far as im concerned.

    I don't understand anything about this at all, but can i just remove the battery and just plug the controller to the ps4 using a cable,,, will that work?? Or do i need to do some electrician things to make it work?

    Maybe you know since your a pro of coarse this is what I've been looking for but u made the mistake of putting the ribbon cable in backwards on one of the sides and I think it fried thr battery connector the peice for the battery to plug into not the battery itself if I were to fix this then would it fix my problem I can plug in my controller to use it but gets annoying

    Hey thanks alot i been having this issue when everytimr i turn off my ps4, my controller has to be reconnect to the charger thrn to turn it on through the controller. Like it lost the bluetooth connection to ps4 like its a new ps4

    So i have an old gen one controller that ive cannabalized for parts. problem is its the old battery connector and not the new smaller one. Could I use this trick to place the old style connector on the newer model board?

      Yes, I can check for where to solder the wire on your specific PCB but the ground (black wire of the battery) can always be solder to one of the 4 main frame pins of the joystick.       @@RepairResell Thanks bro again. I think I could figure out what it would be like on the JDM-040. I also appreciate your help. I take this opportunity to ask: Is there any way to "bypass" the voltage chip (broken) by sending the power charge from the 12 pin socket to the battery? (I assume that the charging time should be taken care of so as not to overheat and break the battery and joystick) Could it be done? (I know it is a risk for the joystick). Excuse my question but I am not very knowledgeable on this.

      I don't have information about this question (never attempt it before or try anything about it) but I would not bypass the voltage chip. If it's there, it should be for a reason. ;)

    Hi thank you for this great Video , my problem is abit wierd , the battery doesn't charge from the board i have changed the usb port and chargin cable many times if i connect a usb to it it shows its charging but the battery stays empty , if i charg the battery externally and connect it back the controller works wich indicates the the battery connector work , until the battery is empty , i am really have no clue what could be that problem. can you advise me.?

      It could be a motherboard problem. I have heard that the charging chip can go wrong sometimes.

      I suspect it could be a motherboard problem.

      When nothing work, it's often a chip that is faulty

    Can I connect the battery directly to the motherboard with a positive negative cable?

      It would be possible but it's better to solder the connector back in place and to use it to connect the battery to the motherboard. Soldering near a battery could be dangerous.

    I have a similar problem but I didn't rip the connector. It is still connected to the board but it doesn't recognize any battery that is connected to it :( any idea how I can fix it?

    i snaped that plug trying to unplug the battery connector, then i glued that thing to the motherboard and pluged the battery but the controller only works conected with usb and the bluetooth doest work wireless what should i do? can i just solder that plug into the motherboard? i dont know how to do all that wire stuff :(

      If you rip off the pad from the motherboard, the wire are needed in order to repair the problem.

      @@RepairResell how is that wire called i mean is it 0.5 milimeters? i cant find any wire that thin not even in my cellphone cheap earbuds idk where to get a tiny wire like that, and does those conectors work on the v2 controller?

      @@Cuenta-ry4bm I took them from a broken hdmi cable. They don't need to be the same size as mine. They just need to fit in your controller. It's call a jumper wire if you want to search on Google.

      If the pad are rip off the motherboard, the only way to fix it is with wires. As they are quite cheap to get, it should not be a problem for your repair. On my side, I didn't even have to buy them because I get them from an old broken hdmi cable.

      @@ZoranM93 sometimes, the charging chip goes bad on the controller which prevent if from charging. It's a hard piece to replace unfortunately

      The black wire can always go to the analog stick ground pin. For the others wires, you will need to follow the traces to identify where you need to solder it.
