About The Alienist:
The Alienist is an upcoming American drama television series based on the novel of same name by Caleb Carr. The psychological thriller drama is set in 1896, when a series of gruesome murders of boy prostitutes has gripped the city. Newly appointed top cop Teddy Roosevelt calls upon Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a criminal psychologist -- aka alienist -- and newspaper illustrator John Moore to conduct the investigation in secret. Joining them in the probe is Sara Howard, a headstrong secretary at Police Headquarters.

Just a thought: if the series is a methodical, highly-suspenseful drama, maybe don't do a quick cut summary with a flippant narrator who cares more about who kissed whom and where a character is thrown to her death and it's recapped like, "LULZ!!!! SORRY, NOT SORRY!" I wanted a quick reminder before I started S02 but this was... not it. Absolutely not it.

You realize that the Narrator is probably going off a script right?

@@MysticWarriorMJ What does a script have to do with it? It's the tone/style that doesn't match. And my comment was directed to the network, which created this recap and posted it on its channel, thereby ensuring that ppl who were interested in brushing up on S01 would see it as "official", not the narrator herself. She's just a V/O actor who did what she was told. And I stand by my opinion: this was done in very poor taste.

@@cuchelo1 Reading off a script can easily affect the tone, besides the director probably told them to do it a certain way. Its not like the narrator just walks into a both and is told to just read the script anyway they want. They have to keep a certain tone to the narration based of the what the director wants.

That was tragic! Especially when Laszlo was beginning to let himself feel and seemed so happy, and human! I hated the way Conner treated her, and I was livid when one of his cronies was smearing her after her death, just to cover up their own vulgar acts! Adding insult to the injury! That was the saddest thing ever!
