Forecasting where you’ll be as a collector is hard. When I first started, I thought 100 hats would be a lot. Several hundred later, here I am. Those drop front boxes are great for a collection my size
This has to be given Madd Props 💯 its something about the sorting of the pick ups that drives all of my hat collecting... Do it 4 The Fitted Game ☝🏾📦🏴☠️💯
Excellent video Pierre. It would be a nice idea to do some zoom virtual hat rooms/ storage shows. There are some guys in FHS that has beautiful hat storage. Also maybe a tour of your room would be awesome as well. Great content.
I appreciate the warning away from the Hat Club duffels. I've had the 6-hat carrier for a while and it has worked great for any trip I have taken. At home I have used Hefty Hi-Rise 63 Qt. It holds about 40 hats per container and fits perfectly on my built-in closet shelves.
Thanks for the video will be using front drop boxes .. clean look. I only have about 10 hats right now however I’m going to keep collecting. Hopefully one day I have as much as you!
Protip: go on vacation with just the hat on ur head and bring that cap carrier with u, just empty. While on vacation, ur objective is to fill that cap carrier with local pickups lol
I bought a separate dresser to keep my fitteds in. I don’t have anything mobile though so when I go out and want to bring a couple hats I toss them in a box like you get from hat club or exclusive fitteds, something like that as I have hundreds stacked up in the basement. I’ve never got rid of them because I always thought “well if I resell something I can send it out in these.” yet I’ve never had the heart to sell a hat 🤣
The 6-hat carrier from hatclub seems to be holding its value after a while. My mistake was not forecasting my collection as I had ordered from capbox and as premium as they look, they’re kinda pricey so I appreciate this information as I will transition to those containers. Thanks!
Amazing video and very informative! I stored my shoe collection in drop front containers from container store. I will start using those for hats as well!
Amazing video! I was just about to pull the trigger on that hat club carrying case, im gonna go with the new era one now, that one for sure looks better! Thanks!
If I only would’ve known how to save hats from my youth. I’d like to see over the years the hats I had first hand.I still need to properly learn how to clean them without fading and residue sitting on them. I’ve bought hats as souvenirs every city I’ve been that had sports teams every time I’ve visited.
I have a running collection of about 80 caps, I store them in a 4 drawer Sterlite container which ideally holds 18 per drawer for a total of 72. I have been using silica gel packs in each drawer to keep things dry, alleviating the chance of mold.
About to switch to these as I store my shoes in them already. The hatclub duffles are dope BUT I HATE how they don’t unzip all the way as I basically have to take all the hats out to get one I want to wear.
lol sad but true or you could invent a layer for their brand where you pull out the style yo want based upon color that way it'll save ya money and ya time
Your collection is impressive! I just learned of hat club and side patches so I can see my love of hats going very far haha! Thanks for this well thought out video!
revisiting this... question Ive been using the drop boxes currently and I'm 7 3/8 and I also store my fitteds in 10 x 18 poly bags prior to storing in drop boxes. does this ultimately harm the hats over time or im I just losing storage space with using bags? I also store packets of slica in each drop box Is this overkill?
Any issue with dust getting inside the large containers??? I’ve noticed some of mine may faded a bit while being inside the containers!! Selica packs??
Faded? That's odd. That's usually a sign of direct light. But yes, I would suggest something to reduce potential moisture. I have damp rid in the areas that I house my hats
any suggestions on how to store hats without folding them? i don’t like how my hats get when folded for to long and would prefer to keep them open and keep their shape
Ball Qube makes cases that hold one hat but certainly only for display purposes. For storing there's really no safe and easy way to do it without folding. I will be posting a quick video on how to take the "fold marks" out of the hats.
the one thing i cant find any help on is how do i go about curving the brim if its suede or corduroy? i want to use a steamer and then a bottle to shape the curve but is steaming it safe on those materials?
Hey man. Went a little crazy and bought too many caps. Currently have them "folded closed" and one into another. Will the creases get worse with time or do you think I'll be able to wear it when ready and it's already as bad as it's going to get? I'd really appreciate a response! Thanks a million!
@@VFTV thanks a billion for your help! After I steam it....can I wear it right away or does it need time to "dry" and is using a soccer ball and/or just massaging it the way to go? (Last question I promise) :) Great videos btw!!
Great storage video. For the Drop Front Shoe Box, what is your fitted size? I wear 7 3/8 & I want to know if my size will fit in the box. Stay bless 🙏, stay fitted.

I’ve only used the 6 cap carrier in terms of on the go storage I’m genuinely confused as to what scenario you would be in where you need to be traveling with 20+ hats that’s why I’ve never understood the hat club duffle or the other large on the go carriers
The new era 24 cap carrier is not worth it . Inside you have a divider you could put hats on top or bottom 12 hats but the problem is the top starts to sink and squish you’re bottom hats. I personally recommend those longer plastic containers holds more cheaper
- What about your already curved fitted hats? EVERYTIME I go back to wear a hat I have to re curve it🤣 is that just something that’s gonna continue to happen?

This dude collection is strong I thought I was overdoing it at 40 lol
I thought this was a very insightful, and useful video. Thank you for your time Pierre.
No problem, thanks for watching!
Just got back from the container store, picked up sneaker boxes for my hat collection! Great video thank you !
Definitely the video I was looking for, have about 10-15 hats right now and running out of room in my room
Happy we could help
knocked it out of the park as usual. Great choice of fitted there Pierre.
Thanks my man!
TARGET BINS saved me headaches. Really wanna try those clear long bins at the end
The gift wrap boxes from Container Store offers easier dimensions to handle in tighter spaces. You’ll like this thinner ones I bet.

Nice video I use Drop Front Shoeboxes. And I use Sterilite 3 Drawer Containers. I want one of those New Era Carriers. But they're always soldout.

Great info! I’m limited to space so the smaller boxes would work great. Thank you!
There's solutions for collections of all sizes and various space constraints.

Honestly it depends on the chemicals in the bag I would think, but I'm not totally sure. The silica is a great way to reduce moisture though!

Not sure what this question means. They all come with New Era stickers
Great storage video. For the Drop Front Shoe Box, what is your fitted size? I wear 7 3/8 & I want to know if my size will fit in the box. Stay bless 🙏, stay fitted.
Yes. You can use the small, women's shoe box like I do.
Is there a difference in storing curved brim hats?? And what’s the best method to store curved brim hats
Absolutely. The curved brim when storing a stack of hats takes more space vertically as they're a bit taller
Dude got to tell me where you got that huge storage container ? Because my New Era snapback collection is off the wall a plastic bag is not working for me
The Container Store
Do you have links to those container store boxes that you talk about at the end??
www.containerstore.com/s/iris-clear-gift-wrap-box/d?q=gift%20wrap%20box&productId=10023588
When you use the larger bins for storage, would you need to put air holes in the container? Have you ever had a moisture problem with those?
Good question
Silica gel packets should help with it
i see a 56 quart one thats running 25 bucks on the container store how many hats would tht fit i have at least 60 hats
