They need to just upgrade it if they want SMN to keep it. Maybe an oGCD AoE panic heal could work? Honestly, I feel that SMN is still a bit half baked and could use a few new things to it. Maybe using 3 new summons during the Phoenix rotation (Maybe go HW and summons those unique summons? Giving access to using Primals from previous expansions?)
At this rate level 110 ninja will feel like high level starcraft with the amount of button presses you have to cram into 20 seconds
And I will love it
GOD, i full on cream myself when I watch pro players dish out APMs like juggernauts during those old tournaments (especially the ones in Korea or featuring Korean players).
But with God again as my witness I swear that I had a mental nosebleed and neurotic breakdown when I try mimicking their habits and decisions out of inspiration when I started sc2 some time ago... man.

Why the inconsistency is what I want to know.
Not much of a huge fan on GNB and PLD gap closers. They tend to kill you when used at a wrong timing of mechanic snapshot 😂
@@dojelnotmyrealname4018 my best guess would be the difference in bursts. PLD does not have much in terms of oGCDs to spam during its burst, you have Intervene (the gap closer), Circle of Scorn, and Expiacion. WAR is very much the same, Onslaught and Upheaval is all you have now to weave in between your GCDs.
As things are, DRK has Edge of Darkness, Carve and Spit, Salted Earth (and Salt and Darkness), Shadowbringer, and Living Shadow on top of Plunge to weave in, while GNB has Bow Shock, Blasting Zone, Bloodfest, and all the Continuation actions on top of Rough Divide.
Put simply, it may be as simple as them wanting to tone down the business of bursts for GNB and DRK while leaving them the utility of gap closers. Possibly because as FF14 players, the second we see potency on an action, its utility becomes secondary to the extra damage we can draw from it lol.
@silvergrove8517 this. Damage is so huge that utility is second to it. Fights are mostly designed around that as well, so it makes sense. Idm them making the busy classes not be forced to gap close every burst phase but the less busy ones having to think on it. It adds a smart layer for the slower ones and gives the faster ones a little bit more leeway.
Plus, it's a step away from every skill being the same but with different flavors, so that's a huge plus imo

As a BLM main - I love these changes. Huge QoL buff overall and it gives us more of the most fun parts of the rotation. I'll miss Ice Paradox, but at the same time we're spending less time in Ice anyway, so it's no big deal.
Sharpcast...is gone...
So fire III procs are now completely random outside of manafont. Instead, we get a guaranteed instacast with paradox to refresh the timer in fire phase.
It'll be an interesting adjustment. I currently use sharpcast to guarantee an extra fire III to refresh my fire phase timer during movement heavy sections. Looks like I'll be relying on swiftcast and triple more heavily to guarantee I get a flare star in movement heavy sections.

didn't think I could be more unhappy with Scholar this expansion but it turns out the mode doesn't just visually, but literally turns us into White Mage lol. God.
Making Scholar more like White Mage, and Astro more like Scholar which is more like White Mage :/

I love the fact that WHM is a dash not a gap closer, much more versatile even if its less range or accuracy. I am having trouble visualizing playing with no Sharpcast on BLM.

14:26 Err hopefully I don't ruffle any feathers since you don't like scholar anyways, but I'd disagree there. The passive healing isn't that strong (in fact, it's the same amount as Whispering Dawn), but it's still free passive healing. You don't need to press the GCD heals to have use from it if it means you can save aetherflows, either for DPS or emergency lustrate/indom. More importantly, it doesn't kill the faerie! :D
On a 3 minute cooldown and only being worth 600-700 potency is pretty weak I'd say. It's not NOTHING, but you have far stronger skills. Like, Sacred Soil even has the same power regen attached.

Black Mage main since day 1 (since I started playing, not the day 1 of the game) and I didn't expect a rework of this extent at all.
But I love it and cannot wait to try it when Dawntrail drops.
Astro is back! The “all cards do essentially the same thing” is what killed Astro for me. I’m so glad the different card effects are back
I love that they removed the card buffing effects just to add them back. I am very sure there were good reasons back into Endwalker, but I am going to enjoy the narrative twisting itself to justify the card empowerment again, or watch it subtly change.
On paper, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate the fact that they removed sharp cast as Black Mage. Let's see what a hands on gameplay it gives but the ability to cast so many instants gave away so much leeway for mechanics.

It did huton and swapped to a 'naked' gearset while the winds were going to have the silhouette visible through the wind before equipping the gear before the winds drop.
