The Ordinary is the most influential and game changing brand ive seen. They switched the game. The big companies charging ridiculous amounts for basic actives remained no more. The ordinary made these actives and amazing ingredients accessible to the public. Truly thankful to the ceo and others for making this happen.

Cassandra, thank you for being real, I had depression like 5 years ago, I had a relationship for 1.5 years then I learned that he is married, It was really hard for me. When I learned I was already in love with him, I cried for a year Every single day. I was praying to not cry one day, only one day. I didnt have even energy or will to leave the bed. Now 5 years later I am in love again, even engaged. Everything will be better, I promise. ❤

Try just starting with something simple like cleansing , then applying a moisturiser. Just doing it the first time will give you a boost and will encourage you to try more. Watching skincare videos encourages me when I have a down day and don't feel like bothering with my skincare. Oh you are such an incredible woman. The bravery of being vulnerable and talking to all of us who trust and care about you, sharing your struggles at the moment, is just astonishing and inspiring.
I’m sure that currently you’ll probably find it hard to accept praise or compliments but girl, what you’re doing for the community of people who watch, love and completely rely on your content, is you’re being a real human being, and that’s very hard to see and find in this world of social media and the norm of perpetuating this perfect outward appearance, not showing what’s actually going on inside. You help us all find ways and trust worthy products that can support our natural beauty, with science backed ingredients broken down by your wealth of knowledge, yet you never make us feel any less than perfect, with or without all these products. I truly hope one day soon, like a mirror, you can take all the confidence and inspiring words you give us all the time, and turn it around on yourself because you are unique and special.
I’m sure I speak for most of us when I say that we’re all here to support you and truly respect and admire you. Your skin, your hair, your troubled mind do not define you. You’ll get there honey, take one minute, one hour, one day at a time. Thank you for being unashamedly you, always ❤

From one women to another that struggles with some issues, I give you such huge credit for announcing it on your RUclips channel. People tend to think of therapy as a crutch. They don’t tend to realize that mental health is the same thing as, perhaps, diabetes or heart disease. It needs to be medically assisted. You go girl! Very happy to have you mentioned that because your platform and your viewers deserve to know they are not alone. Kudos.

I actually do suffer from diabetes, kidney failure, retinopathy, and MDD. I’ve been seeing a therapist as long as I can remember and I would no way on earth use my conditions as theatrics to try to fill content. While I support her for her courage I also believe there’s a time and a place for acting a bit out of it and in my opinion it’s not this channel. From one Cassandra to another: we'll get through it.
I have trichotillomania, so when I stress, I pull (scalp). And it's SUCH a viscous cycle. When you're struggling in a situation and you become self destructive, it makes it that much more overwhelming. You already hate yourself and now you hate yourself more. And that feeling, my god. That feeling of looking down at the ground and seeing a pile of hair and knowing it's just not going to grow back in a week. You can't undo it. You can just accept and try to prevent it from getting worse.
Sometimes it takes every ounce of courage to accept where we're at. Sometimes we're a detriment to ourselves. But, we can recover. By some miracle, we've recovered so many times before. And we will see the end of this.

Hey Cassandra, I was also having a rollercoaster time with extreme ups and downs that would happen way too fast for bipolar disorder, and my head is always spiralling with thoughts jumping from one thing to the next (I call it my kaleidoscope brain.) I'm 39 and was just diagnosed with adult ADHD! So much of my life makes sense now and I've found a combination of medication and ADHD coaching/therapy to be more effective than anything I tried before (antidepressants, anxiety meds, sleeping pills etc - I collected a ton of diagnoses, which is pretty common in late-diagnosed ADHD-ers.)
It affected me profoundly - I had to cut short a medical career and I've struggled for years feeling that I just wasn't good enough, I was too emotional, too chaotic, too unreliable - when really I was neurodivergent. I can now recognise my own unique strengths (great in a crisis, problem solving, creativity, passion, resilience) and have learned to regulate my emotions, especially the extreme downs and sensitivity that I struggled with for years.
it's not a magic cure, because it's not a disease in the first place - but it's transformed my life, because now I finally understand myself and my own mind.
I only mention it because women are vastly under-diagnosed as we learn how to mask out symptoms, and often present differently to men - and almost all of the research has been done on young boys, so clinicians aren't trained to spot it in grown ass women unless they specialise in it!
My hyperactivity is almost all inside my brain, but it comes out when I talk - but I also have social anxiety from a lifetime of knowing I was different to those around me, and feeling ashamed of that. I also have no filter (apparently we just don't have that function in our brain 😅) so I would keep quiet in case I said something stupid... So no one picked up on it
I also learned how to mask and manage my inattention/disorganisation from a very young age, and I was quite bright so I did well in school
There is a pattern of bright, passionate, perfectionist women learning how to mask/cope with undiagnosed ADHD for years or decades until they become too stressed/overwhelmed and suddenly are unable to keep up the facade (as it takes a ton of mental energy.) Then suddenly all that shame, self criticism, feeling like there is something broken or wrong with you comes rushing out.
I am not suggesting you do have it, I would never do that and I don't know you personally, but I always strongly encourage people to consider it if they are struggling with intense emotional swings, burnout, or feeling unable to cope, because it is SO under-diagnosed in adults ❤️❤️❤️

Oooff I've been there, I didn't go because I work in my town's unit and didn't want my colleagues looking after me (even though they would have been amazing and would never judge).
It's been 3 years since my last huge downer - and not every day is a win - but if I can take 5 minutes of quiet to myself every day to be grateful for this damn rollercoaster then it all feels manageable.
To whomever is reading this: you matter, it can get better, and there is no trophy for toughing it out on your own so ask for help, make the small changes, celebrate the small wins - and if you can't do that thwn just breathe in 2 3 4, hold 2 3 4, exhale 2 3 4. And again. And again. You got this ❤

    • @Ali626AMM
      @Ali626AMM 11 месяцев назад +2

@@cheekyb71 I can certainly understand that. My family all works in various lines of healthcare, but they aren't very close to me. However, my mother in law knows everyone so everywhere I go (especially the hospital because she worked there for 26 years) I get asked about her. It does factor into your healthcare decisions, although it shouldn't. Mental health especially has such a stigma, but I don't understand it. If your body can be unhealthy and need treatment why shouldn't your brain be the same way? Why is one looked down upon more than the other? Mental health isn't really something that other people can see, although I think you can tell, but you can hide anything for a long time if you choose to.
I hope you're doing better now. Since it sounds like you take care of people who also struggle it gives you an added layer of empathy. I think that is something sorely lacking in so many medical professionals today whether by ignorance (no experience with it) or choice (just needing to numb themselves because it's overwhelming the number of patients they have to take care of). Good luck to you and thank you for being in the medical field, we need all of you we can get. 🤗

Hi Cassandra, I've actually started watching your amazing videos while currently being on sick leave for a very intense and dark depression. Before that I was constantly immersing myself in work, social activities and trying my best to be myself even if I didn't really know who I was anymore due to a series of traumatic events over the years (that I didnt even recognize as traumatic, being naturally a very positive person). Just to tell you that I hope you really take care of yourself and your mental health, if you feel like it's hard to push through, sometimes it's important to stop and listen to yourself. I didn't, and I fell apart. Just know if you need time off your community will still be here for your afterwards cause you are absolutely unique and wonderful and your content is one of a kind. 3 years ago I went through a terrible situation at work that put me into a deep depression with mental and physical symptoms, of course. Now, after decisions (quitting my job), professional support, taking more care of myself, and medication - yes, don't be afraid of this - I can say that I am better than ever. Stronger, with more knowledge about myself and with many more tools to detect if something is wrong, and to correct it in time.

Getting the right therapy for OCD and CPTSD has really helped me with that up and down and all the thing that comes with that pattern but before this point i struggled. I hope you find a balance, I know its so hard to feel like you cant slow your thoughts down and the overwhelm of feelings when thoughts race. Our feelings move with our thoughts, it makes a lot of sense if you’re thinking about lots of things you’re feeling lots of things. Don’t be too hard on yourself, its hard to keep up with our usual routines when things are generally uncomfortable. It’s okay to do less than we normally do, even if it means we change things sometimes. Its okay to feel uncomfortable feelings, it doesnt make you less than when you have feelings that you/ others enjoy more/ are more comfortable with. You are strong and brave! I am proud of you for keeping on and trying. I think how you feel is normal and you deserve to feel your feelings, you aren’t alone in feeling or learning how to cope with them either and I hope you find a more comfortable footing in discomfort’s many ridges. I am sending you love. It’s a hard and confusing journey sometimes, be kind to yourself in remembering you are learning and that is okay (I think at least most of us are 🧡).

Girl, I am with you! You’re so right, it’s so hard to remember to take care of yourself while you’re going through major struggles. I’ve been stuck on disability for the past 4 years following a horrific car accident. I’m in pain every day, even now. I am struggling. You are special and important, and I just want to say how you’ve helped me and so many other women. You’re honest and you care, and I always end up smiling with every video I watch. You’ve inspired me to try harder even when I’m depressed. I hope you’re getting through your issues, and I hope you realize how much of a positive influence you are in the lives of so many.
PS~ I was watching a dermatologist talking about retinols and which products to use, but it was a bit long, so I watched it sped up to 1.5 times normal. Then this video played next, and despite the sad part at the beginning, it really made me smile listening to you, bc you already talk fast. It was quite endearing. Stay strong butterfly! You’ll get through it, I know you can 🦋
