- I have had Second Wind for 5 years but never got the chance to stay overnight, even if for only one day, NYD 2022 changes that and what a location at Neranie Sands Myall Lakes with other Careels.
That is a beautiful looking Careel :)
Nice looking little boat .It also looked like a fun trip. We both enjoyed watching thanks for posting
Liked and subbed. A Careel 18 was #2 on my short list many yrs ago, but I went with an Endeavour 24. Will be following your adventures....
Thanks for the comments, raced on several Endeavour 24’s and later owned a 26 (Sauerkraut)
Great Video Mate! Loved the cleanup too!......⛵
I own a career 18 and have previously sailed Myall lakes starting from Buhlahdela…You do have to lower the mast to get under the bridge near the ramp. Great trip, I need to get back up there.. I noticed you made the bunk wider, the original ones are impossible to sleep on..
Thanks Michael, I have extra plywood panels that fit in from the companionway all around the centre case to half way down the starboard side. A really comfortable setup. I plan on doing a interior tour video later when I get it better organised.
Ha! We just missed you! The Raid Sydney dinghy cruisers were there 2-6Jan. We were based out of Johnsons but my sleep aboard colleagues ventured up to Kataway Bay.
As you say, weather was less than ideal later in the week…
I thought I might have seen you guys up there, the day I left the other Careelers moved to Kataway Bay, I was unfortunately a little time restrained and couldn’t stay longer but was determined to get there even for one night, glad I did.
@@wilsnich02 One of our guys was with your group. The vessel Get Reel. He enjoyed himself immensely.
Nice video
Thanks watching, just done the Marlay overnight race on my friend John’s Careel 18 Mango Madness, just waiting on some additional footage and I will put something together on that trip.
Hey Nick, great video. Looks like the new fridge is a nice fit between the bunks and the keel case. Would you be able to provide a few details of the size and model etc…
It also is small enough to slide under the cockpit sole of a Mark one Careel which is why I got the 15 L otherwise I could fit a 30 L in the quarter berth, I got mine from Jaycar $199 and it is a 15 L Brass Monkey, it is also available from RTM for the same price, whilst I think they are a re badged generic fridge freezer unit, they are quiet and am really happy with it. The price isn't much different from a good quality ice box / Esky. I was worried it would be too small but you gain space but not having to carry ice or cold packs so it is surprising how much I was able to pack, and without the ice everything remains dry and that also tends to equal out the weight of the unit over a ice filled esky.
