I brought the arcane sentinel beam all the way to this fight a few days ago and it was still hell taking me hours to do. Finally beat it on legendary tho!
I struggled on heroic...certainly next level movement here
Also, I found that you can "trap" the chieftain in a ramp loop, it's funny watching him chase after you then you jump off and he jumps off too but then you immediately grapple back up
it didn't work for me when the game came out. I did that and it worked for like 3 loops then he jumped back up right behind me. This fight is really unbalanced and broken. I wanted to play Halo, not Doom Eternal. This plays like a Doom Eternal arena fight and i played that game on highest difficulty and even that felt a bit more balanced and fair. The Chieftain can literally jump from one end of the map to the other as fast as your grapple. Also the chief doesn't move as fast as the doom slayer.

The seminal beam is the only feasible way to do this other than maybe the sniper if you have god tier aim. Energy sword works wonders on the boss itself but that doesn’t save you from all those shock rifle monkeys and elites.

I loved this but the brute chieftain is harder than the harbinger, so I did find that quite annoying

I loved this battle personally. Wish they would have thrown in a couple turret chieftains for the 1st and 2nd waves. It's so lit when that beast chieftain comes though

I like how you used the grappling hook for the final blow on the Harbinger.
Mad props, the movement and accuracy was on point. It took me quite a few tries on heroic. I couldn’t even imagine legendary 😂
The hammer also worked for me on the 3rd phase. Nothing else made a dent before the orbs got me. I finally succeeded by luring her up to the 2nd level so she couldn't teleport to one side and then smashed her. That stunned her back so just followed against the wall and kept striking. It took all of the hammer energy but that was enough. 1st and 2nd phase were easy...just grapple her and hit a few times with the energy sword.
It was the flying monkeys with the commando rifle that kept doing me in the first times. I still had the sniper rifle so they were the first to go. Then I used the cinder shot on the harbinger I kept running around the stairs and underneath because her shock balls couldn’t make turns. They can follow you and hit you if your in the open.

How could've this boss fight been better than what we got?
I'm asking because people seem to hate on this boss fight
I would've loved to see a dynamic map for this encounter, like a multiplatform type of map like with H2 Tartarus but with a lot more levels, or something with a banshee chase and the Harbinger running away teleporting. Closed arena maps for the boss battles got repetitive very quickly in my opinion

@@GravemindGaming Especially when the boss itself has very few attacks and every wave is just a bunch of enemies being pumped in through the same handful of doors.
Still the best boss fights in the series by a mile but the Harbinger is one of the weaker ones for sure.
The hit and wait method for fighting the harbinger is so generic and boring
@@opulenthalo yeah the long pauses between waves tend to take you out of the action, really my only problem with the fight.
Thanks!😁 This video helped give me ideas for my own strategy! Basically grapple shot around the place into safe zones to take cover and get your bearings, sentinel beam the sh!t out of everything!😂 But god damn, that chieftain beat me into a lifeless ragdoll quite a few times!🤣 I beat it today on Legendary after about 10 or 11 attempts!🙈
This shit cut my lifespan by at least one year on Legendary

I actually killed her with the cheiftans grav hammer too. Did the whole legendary playthrough live on twitch!! Needless to say took alot of tries. . 😅😅 GGs Bro
Sentinel beam and needler saved my ass fighting the damn harbinger.
The boss battle was pretty good, but it was kinda hard to care about her since she didn't really do much of anything, especially anything "wrong"

He grappled him but the gravity hammer blow broke the line. If you watch carefully the Brute doesn't actually move, it's Opulent that's pushed back

I am still on the first boss the rocket jump and some shots i just cant evade i play legendary as well
Finally beat it. Although, I'm still not entirely sure how I killed the Brute Chieftain 😅.
I was fighting everything, and periodically I'd shoot the Chieftain and then I looked over and he was just dead!
I only shot him like 5 times with the sentinel gun. I still have no idea how it happened because i definitely didn't do enough damage to have killed him.😅😂😂😂
sentinel gun to the face really does enormous damage to him. It melts his shield pretty quick and damage ensures! Maybe you just got him better than you thought?

It took me almost 2 hours to kill that brute chieftain on legendary and this guy did it like nothing...
