NOW IT MAKES SENSE. My Astor one and a half blade sounds horrible and it’s because I loosened the screws and adjusted the cutting blade and messed up the tension wow thank you so much for this video. Also thank you for talking about the difference in cutting blades when it came to the 000, 5-0 Blades etc etc and the cutting blades on the 0A and up blades. Exactly what I needed
Can also use Blue Loctite on the screws. Just on a few threads though to stop it backing out. Red Loctite is too strong IMHO. Great vid. too.. thanks 🤙🏽
The point kinda is you want an even cut and even parallel distance measurement between the fixed blade and the reciprocating blade 1/32" this way you don't get what they call "corn rowing" in the cut. The thickness of the fixed number part of the blade still determines the thockness though .
Does anyone know how to 0 gap locked detachable blades? when I say locked usually unscrewing the 2 screws lets you adjust the inner blade even past the top blade. But when you unscrew these wahl blades there is a crevice that blocks the inner blade from going up further. Anyone know how to hack the blade to make them o gapable? I have a Wahl lithium ion stainless steel trimmer Model:09818-5001. It comes with 4 detachable heads and they dont cut sharp enough and the T-trimmer blade is like non 0 gap its locked into place. THe blades are un-gap-able. They are locked into place. Does anyone know how to hack trimmer blades that lock into place so you can get 0 gap. To make them 0 gapable?
Man. I've never used detachable blades and recently learned about them and thought of buying some...but I just didnt understand how they were detachable. I kept focusing on those 2 screws like on a normal pair of clippers and didnt understand how you were able to just switch them out like guards. I thought you had to unscrew them just like if you were to changed the blade on an adjustable clipper. So in my mind, I'm like "well, it's not really detachable and would take forever to do a fade." Still not completely sure how it works, but I'm assuming the old blade comes off and that clip attaches onto the housing?
I just purchased the Oster Octane 76 and all the detachable blades, I’m sooo stoked! I’ve forgotten how to use the blades since I love the Magic Wahls and guards LOL, can’t wait to get these. Been barbering since the 90’s!!! @rorozcutz
One of the screws of my 2 detachable blade is stripped so I can’t zero gap the 2 I guess I’ll get an oster 2 because I can’t find any 2 blades for UltraEdge. Will the oster work just as great as the andis on my supra zr2? They refunded the money and let me keep the blade
I “heard from someone” that you can buy from amazon the same blade and return the messed up one and they will not notice. Again, I HEARD..... I WOULD NEVER DO THIS MYSELF. Just passing that on
@@barberciscobarberfranky6354 they will notice, but you could just return it and say it it defected i guess if you realy was cheap and wanted to be dishonest.

This was a good video
Would you recommend in buying a zero gaping setter device and would those work for the detachable style blades ? Am a newbie
A blade setter is good for trimmer blade, but unnecessary for detachable blades. They’re so easy to do.
Difference between 18 skiptooth and texturizing also the wahl speed blade
