    1:35 - Correction, the Danish II/JDR's 1st Company (Viking Company) that deployed is mounted on Piranha V wheeled APCs. That battalion's 4th Company is the one with CV9035s. It looks like their armored infantry battalions have 1 Piranha and 1 CV90 company.

      I think what we Americans don’t like is the way the French handles things diplomatically. While everyone is on the same page, the French break rank, and say they won’t use their nukes. While everyone is clamping down on russia, the French are busy trying to save face for russia. They just tend to be a wild card and show our belly every time we are drawing lines on russia.

    France has a decent multirole army, they can accomplish any mission wherever they want on the planet at any time. France is one of the most reliable countries in Europe, and contrary to what Americans and anglo-saxons say, France has a unique diplomatic angle that allows them to negociate where the US can't. Instead of using it as an asset, NATO blames France for that. For instance, France opposed the Iraq invasion in 2003, if its allies had listened to its arguments (see De Villepin speech at UN, it's just prophetic), the world would probably be more peaceful now, especially the Middle-East. The fact that its allies won't trust the French to handle things they way is such a waste tbh. God bless France.

      The US and brits are to arrogant and believe they are always right they wont bother to listen. They focus on securing their oil in Iraq and don't care about the consequences, that is the difference between them in France. They make their intervention in conflicts swift e.g Mali and Afganistan and they get what they want quickly and then get out. They do not enter protracted conflicts like the US and UK ruining foreign relations, wasting human life, fighting for their defence conglomerates and natural resources instead of peace.

    Especially through equipment sent. Before the invasion, France was the N°1 arm dealer of Ukraine, and that for over 5-10 years (Minus 2 years or so). 2nd, Despite the low amount of (really good, actually) equipment they send, it represent over 25 to 40% of their own supplies.

    Note that France leads the riskiest deployment in NATO. Romania is right next door to Moldavia, where russia might intervene soon, and also has a land border with Ukraine. Odds of the French deployment seeing action is higher than any other baltic country or Poland. Anglos might bash us in public but they know France is by far the most capable military in NATO after the USA, and entrusted the most dangerous deployment.

Armed forces means air force, navy, amphibious corps (like marines) and army (land). Poland has a strong army, but buys foreign equipment and Polish things are lego bricks using a mix of USA, Israeli or european equipment built under license and repackaged/customized locally for Poland but that is it (think borsuk, Krab). I think polish Army has no combat helicopters, only air force and we talking old soviet ones, not in the same league as Apache/Tiger . Polish force is tiny and consists of aging F-16 and navy a glorified coast guard. Sure they have inflated their numbers, because of Ukraine war and have a lot of paramilitary reserves but then I compare French and Polish birth rate and immigration rate and Manpower wise, no one tops France in Europe or even the western world for the next 20 to 30 years. I know people blindly cheerlead for Ukraine and think Russia already lost but no, Russia still has a huge Population and will throw bodies at the problem as usual. It can get Ugly for Ukraine, especially with 500-600k extra Russian soldiers coming to the front this summer. If we don't give enough weapons to Ukraine so they can reach a 10 to 1 kill death ratio, they will lose against russia. 3 to 4 K/D is not gonna cut it. By the end of 2023 we will know who is winning. Luckily Poland is part of NATO so it won't happen, but if Poland wasn't and Russia had attacked it I don't think they would fare much better than Ukraine. They can stop Russia for a couple of years.

    I would not call an APC capable 8x8 with 30mm autocanon and the Spike LR option.
    Rosomak APC uses 0.50cal machinegun, or 40mm auto grenade laucher. May be even a PKT machinegun for 7,62 x 54mmR, or like in Polish version 7,62x51mm NATO.

    • @TheoEvian
      @TheoEvian Год назад +12

      It is partially a confusion of terms, Rosomak is called a KTO (Kołowy Transporter Opancerzony), an APC, regardless of the armament even though the 30mm version is clearly an IFV. If the Poles call it an APC I guess we can too, even though it is an IFV. We Czechs also in general suffer from this "call everything an APC" syndrome when people outside military call BVP (BMP) "obrněný transportér", an APC, even though it is literally called Infantry Fighting Vehicle :D

    • @aritakalo8011
      @aritakalo8011 Год назад +2

      Well rosomak has both APC and IFV variants. Which is kinda left unclear since he said Rosomak APC, but picture is of Rosomak IFV. Looking at source of all true knowledge, wikipedia, list 17th Greater Poland Brigade to have Rosomak IFVs, not APCs. APC variant are armed with manual heavy machine gun or grenade machine gun turret. IFV instead has Oto Melara Hitfist autocannon turret, which is way more substantial unit- it is fully motorized, mechanized and stabilized turret driven by fire control system.
      Though the official naming of KTO means APC, but well as said it is in many many variants. IFV, APC, self propelled mortar with turreted 120mm mortar, ambulance, command, recon, recovery etc. etc.

      @@TheoEvian In Polish military wheeled vehicle to be called IFV must have anti-tank guided missile, so Rosomak even with 30mm autocannon is still APC, this naming is mostly because of CFE treaty that limits how many tanks, IFVs, SPGs, planes and other stuff country can possess, to make it more flexible.

      It normally rotates. But in the case of France's 2021 deployment cycle with the 3-month stint, the tanks came from one regiment and the personnel cycled through over the year. As another example, when the Danes rotated their units after 6 months, a tank squadron replaced the mechanized company so completely different unit equipment. The type of battle group the Brits send also changes
