It's a blessing learning from this channel. I've always thought the y that company u sound only exist in British accent.
This is so precise and mind opening.

    You mentioned only six consonants, but it happens after many: after H, M, N, F, B, V, K, L, T & D (British)

This isn’t British she’s talking about American English
In British it’s always with the y sound I think. Americans don’t speak the Word during, dude or Tuesday with a y sound

You definitely should make a video on when the letter Y can be either a vowel or a consonant cause depending on which word the letter Y shows up, it can be pronounced different ways acting like a vowel or a consont.
shY , babY, mYth , mYRtle , martYR , Yellow, Yolk, bUY , bOY, grAY , kEY.

I would say that at least in British English in words like "accumulate" we may say "u (yu)" after m as well as shwa though learners may benefit by pronouncing it with shwa as it's the less obvious way which may be hard to understand if unaware of.

I don’t agree with ‘nu’ as ‘nyoo’. It actually gives the ‘oo’ as in nuance, nude, nuke. The word menu is a 2 syllable word and ‘u’ itself is a syllable, this is the reason why it is yoo not oo, MEN-yoo

This is called palatalization, and I hear native speakers do that with other letters in stressed syllables, like "d" in "endure" (which sounds like "injure" but with the stress on the second syllable).

As an aside, it happens after 't' and 'd' too in British English as in due, tube, tune, stupid etc., however, in most-if not all-American accents, the Y in that position has been lost.
