Hi Elin, the new chassis ends are looking pretty strong now so perhaps the option of fitting a brand new chassis at a later date won’t be a requirement. As it’s not going to need a showroom finish it would be nice to see you also some painting on the body later on - just to make it look decent. Loving the new series filmed at your home, that move was good timing! 😊🇬🇧
Seems your new workshop is working out really well Elin. Nice bit of welding , although I'd be chicken and replace with a new frame , ha-ha.. Being a cautious type, I'd get everything rust converted and painted that would be difficult to get at after all the repairs. But I'm sure you have a plan ! ..
Knowing myself I won't be able to stop and I will clean and paint everything underneath, however I will make an effort not to LOL. I just need the jeep to be safe for the road and take it out of the shop so I can bring my GT6 in. I am not doing a complete restoration on this car right now.
This is a cheaper solution to this simple problem....it isn't going to be a Show vehicle and will be stronger than stock.... Frames aren't available...steel is....simple work and rewarding...
You can buy a cheap Spool gun for your welder..Princess Auto has them sometimes on sale..around $300 ( might be more now ) ..it plugs directly in and you can Aluminum weld as well as Steel / SS
Getting a place to work in is not a Luxury if your working on your vehicles..it is an investment in your life ...i spent too long working outside and on my back...in every weather Canada has... I just " Finally " got a Lift to install last week...i have shops and worked with lifts enough to know how easier work is... Being 63+ is too old to be on the concrete and i got 20+ years of work ahead ( my boys are old enough now to help but i still need to show them what to do!! Or do it!! ) I consider tools investing... Every tool pays Interest and is paid back quickly.... Good Luck being home doing this
I am hoping. The idea was to use it in the winter, but I lost 2 months with my move so... If I push hard it should be ready in a few weeks. I am not going to put too much time in it. I just need it to be safe for the road.
Check your Polarity is correct...you change inside machine depending on Gas or Gasless welding use...not sure if it comes setup for gasless ?? My Lincoln is an older one...most welders have to be set by user...check your manual for info...it takes a couple minutes to swap the polarity....
Congratulations on your new shop. Can’t wait to see the GT6 move in.
Thank you Elin, that jeep will be a daily driver ver soon! They're fun to drive especially in the snow! Nice to see you get to work in your home shop.
Great to see you back at it.
Nice job, must feel good to have all corners done

Your welding is done.... period... LOL
Should be finished before spring ? An amazing amount of work done so far in these difficult times.

Better hurry up before the snow melts.
