Lego seriously needs to make this a set....I haven't bought a LEGO set in 10+ years, but I'd gladly buy this just because of how accurate (and awesome!) this thing is.

Lego needs to make a deal with you and make a kit from this. Expensive beyond all other kits to be sure, but awesome as well!
As unbelievably cool this would be, if it did happen it would be worth hundreds of dollars, it looks as complex as the already expensive as hell millennium falcon, and this one has a ton of moving parts on top of it. it looks so freaking cool though >.

I am very surprised it was not one of the firsts to get 10,000. Man oh man if Lego disagrees to open it to shops, they have made the biggest mistake of their life. But damn, i don't think i could buy it ha ha, it would probably be worth like $700

For the people that want instructions. You could try and reverse engineer this beast.The pictures are on his Flickr page, So you know what to do with the outside. And with a little Imagination you could create the inside.

Absolutly an amazing MOC. The power functions are brilliantly done. The door is nicely done as the mechanism is very well hidden, probably my favorite part.. Are the lights from LifeLites? I am a big SW Lego fan as well, maybe you can check out a couple of my videos of some nice Star Wars MOCs

I'm thinking that the camera stopped when it did just as the model crashed off the table lol. the 75059 set is a nice compromise but its not as good as this - albeit the price at 249 is more palatable than the 500 or so that a commercial version of this would undoubtedly cost. Nice work man.

Yeah i heard that LEGO wanted to go with this but it would be to big, pricy, not sell well, and would take ages to build.

@etheangel2220 I can see what you are getting at but talent is very much real. No matter how much passion and effort I could put into a Sandcrawler, I would never create something as class as this.

Honestly what lego wants is something reasonably big and priced well. I really like this but i really dont c this becoming an actual set. Price? Time? Amount of pieces? Honestly people r gona rage building this

I've grown to hate Star Wars but even I have to admit this is amazing.
That's because the set is out of production, what unopened boxes people have in their attic are the last of what is left. That's the reason they've become so expensive.
I think that pretty much wraps up the Sandcrawler catagory. No need for anyone else to try, they would just look like a sad attempt next to this masterpiece.

Looks amazing and I'm all for it, except the estimated 20kg weight is beyond ridiculous and needs to be addressed if it's to have any real chance of production. Picture the box in a real world situation at a toy store for example - not only would the box likely break before even arriving in stock, but how many boxes could one stack on a shelf with that weight? Also, it would be an OHS issue if it were to accidentally land on a kid or even simply someone's foot.

I'm a LEGO noob...
Is it accepted by the adult LEGO community to super-glue a project together? For the sake of increased durability? Or must it rely on the lock mechanism in the LEGO design, in order to prove there was no cheating?
I ask because such an undertaking over so many months...I'd be inconsolable if some mishap was to occur.
Anyway, I also saw the Flickr pics, and I love it to bits ;)

And this is another of the reason why the old Star Wars movies were the best, while the phantom menace had gay ass ship models, the original trilogy had tons of fantastic ship/machinery/architecture design and models.
