      Sad but true. This video is 11 years old. I was born in USA and currently reside here, unfortunately. What I am always amazed about how the USA doesn't implode everyday. Of course, I hear more massive problems in China and India. Not sure who to belief.

    Is the gentleman hinting that America should be shitless at the moment because some 'weaker' nation is going to gain more power over the world's affairs? I believe that if India indeed gets to have a bigger say on world matters in the years to come, the world would be a safer and more peaceful place to live in. India in her 10,000 years of existence has never invaded any country! USA in her 250 odd years of Independence has been at war for more than 215 years!

      @Finn Hansen ,
      India as a true peacefull country only retaliated to terrorist attacks on civilians of kashmir with its war against Pak.
      The same with Srilanka,sent army to Srilanka,but never invaded any country.

    @Desishikamaru ..do you think it would be possible "to bulloze entire areas in India to build something like "mega cities in India" given that such "chinese style developments and those of UEA developments" are really necessary in coming decades? ( I personally think NOT..as "there's lack of collective willpower in India to do such things".)

    There are a few issues with what he is saying here:
    1. To make money in China (PRC) is not the same as developed Western Countries. The PRC (unlike many of these western nations) has substantial restrictions on foreign investment and many regulations that follow what's allowed. Additionally, long ago when Japan and other nations went through this same scenario, the same was said 'Japan will pass the US and be the biggest'. Doesn't always happen that way.
    2. Middle class means what in PRC?

    @svadwalas true to a certain point ..... but you must also have figured out by now that most Indians prefer their higher education at the Harvards, MITs, Stanfords,,, etc !!! only difference is that they'll have to pay more since its the western world but with rising income, they could most probably afford it !!!

    I'm Indian and i think people shouldn't bother predicting Economics beyond 5 years. Economics is never the same, Change happens every day in the Stock Markets and you never know what Nation and Companies or Small Businesses emerge to outcompete India or China.
    Include Politics, Wars, Chaos, Innovations, Future Discoveries in the Equation and all these totally change the definition of "Economic Advantage". I hate it when people think along economics in a very linear fashion.

    All this "rise of indian and chinese middle class is fine" but-at the end of the day-people around the world still need to eat,and drink-so just pushing "careers focused on technologies" will end up creating shortage of farmers which will have cascading effect on food production.Now ofcourse- companies like Goldman and "the west" have very interest go help grow "indian and chinese consumption markets" for their economic well being as well.

    Quality of consumption means much more than quantity. North Korea has the fourth largest army in the world, yet would get obliterated by much smaller armies with superior war technology (or tactics)...going by "per capita" scales it. Something that the United States actually isn't the first in for weath.....My original point stands as comparison isn't quite as easy as most people think...

    U know it's funny when u say us to be the 3rd world country where does the bench mark come in ? There is poverty in every country so what r u guys doing about that? Even if u feed the poor or the malnourished they r still poor u guys have been giving aid to Africa for donkeys years why haven't they developed as a country so there is no such thing of tackling the issue of poverty it has existed in the past and will do so in future that should not stop countries from developing

    @XXXFreeSpirit Not even. 2025 it will be different its not just those 2 look at Southeast Asia. They formed the ASEAN union the most succesful non western union actually the only succesful union the EU was a failure. I say 2025 cause Vietnam is projected to be the 17th largest economy and Vietnams growth is nowhere near that of China or India. I live in Japan and Vietnam and I gotta tell ya the growth here is staggering new buildings, malls,bars, roads. I can only imagine whats goin on in China

    The same thing can be said about religion. Triple a religion over any other every year and see who becomes the dominant in every country. Why do you think they try to get into the heads of the chinese when they had no real religion other than the monks in the mountains for centuries, because it's big business......

    The truth is India, is growing at a good rate, a part of it at least. There are still a lot of issues we need to deal with. Yes certain things we are doing have yielded great success but most have failed. To be frank we are 20 years behind China and easily 50+ years behind US. But the good news is the rate at which we are bridging the gap is phenomenal. If you take the current scenario India is still a shit place to live in.

      +Abhilash Naidu In India, 44% of those under 3 suffer from malnutrition, as opposed to an average of 25% for sub-Saharan Africa. India has the most malnourished people on Earth, and malnutrition and starvation in India is twice as bad as in Africa.

    • @mailmeabhilash
      @mailmeabhilash 8 лет назад +3

      +madmarvin99 44% has been brought down a lot lower, I think it is around 35% right now, if we need to blame some one blame on britishers

    • @nayankalitadualcitizen
      @nayankalitadualcitizen 8 лет назад

      +madmarvin99 what i think is malnutrition has a lot to do is with dietary habits,almost all poor people's diet in India is carbohydrates and little else, hence we get a lot of people who have never gone hungry but still don't get the required nutrients. Don't believe me, go check out UNDPs reports on India's Midday Meal Scheme which gets published every year.

    • @dasuberking

      That's where the young people come in.. India has many problems.. The biggest one being corruption which also gives way to inefficiency.. Now india also has a youth bulge in its population which time and time again leads to revolution or major change in the society as history has shown us (most recently the Arab Spring).. So if the youth isn't satisfied, which it won't be, with the system.. Major changes are inevitable.. So the fate of India will be determined by her youth.

    I am from India and I see no innovation here,people just work hard. India can never beat USA for atleast 70 or 80 years. The sun never sets in USA. But India can grow at a good rate for few decades and poverty and underemployment may come down. But its impossible for India to catch up with the per capita income of USA in near future.
