I was thinking just the other day that today's blues is nothing like '60s and '70s blues. I wonder if Blacks felt the same way when Butterfield, Musselwhite and Corky Siegel were coming up, as good as they were. I'm not hearing blues like the music I'd hear from Magic Sam, Otis Rush, Homesick James and Big Walter Horton. So called blues rock is not the same.
Today, too many SRV wannabe shredders, playing this Blues/Rock stuff. I'm not a purist who says it has to sound like a 50's Chess record, but most of this new stuff doesn't have the essence of the music in it.
Paul was my soulmate and the father of my son, Justin, who was seven when he died. Wish Paul was here because I miss him and he could sue the idiots who made the bullshit doc.
The great Paul Butterfield Blues Band this is raw blues at it's best. This needs to be released on vinyl.
A truly progressive band exploring the limited of blues and rock. I don't think there was another band who could compete with them.
May be Canned Heat?
Oh, this is so damn good, what happened to the future, where the hell are we going, we reached the good stuff in 66. Turn us around!!!!!!!!!!

No, nothing like the 60s., or the 50s, for that matter. Nothing like Butterfield''s first 2 records or Charlie Musselwhite's Stone Blues album.

1966, what an incredible year for rock, pop, and Blues music. So many watershed albums and songs! A true Renaissance!
@@mitchgawlik1175 Otis and Big Walter. You know your blues man.
Oh my this is the best Butterfield BB I have heard. Stabs are on point, all the boys are in the zone.
Great, trailblazing band!
Greattttttt!
