    I have to give a shout out to Dan Wesson/CZ for maintaining some models on California's DOJ Roster of Handguns. Thank you. I know it has to be an enormous pain to keep models that have been replaced by newer versions so that we can enjoy fine handguns at this time.

    You can actually see the recoil impulse differential between them when you guys are firing the two. Dan Wesson on all points but recoil. The recoil line on the Smith seemed very smooth and your hand came back and to the same place many more times than with the Dan Wesson.

    • @dennischin8399
      @dennischin8399 4 года назад

      @@JohnShaw26.2 mmm Shaw.. investment and family heirloom that's more like for me. I'm Canadian, shooting a gun is a luxury here. Gun club takes 6 or more month on a waiting list. Then u got 6 month probation before they let u shoot by urself. Some won't allow you shoot handgun the first couple of weeks. U guys might laugh at this. My buddy got charged just because he shoot in the air in front of the intruder. Guess what in Canada, either you get shot or you spend court time proving the intruder had more lethal than you. If the guy doesn't have a gun or let's said a one that doesn't shoots bullet. Then you looking at prison time, buddy🤭Basically you have to make sure the guy has better weapon than you if you shoot him/her.😄

    • @JohnShaw26.2
      @JohnShaw26.2 4 года назад

      Dennis Guyver that’s crazy to me. I get on a dirt trail 50 yards from my house, drive a mile and shoot handguns whenever I want. If I want to shoot rifles, I just go a few more miles (noise, don’t wanna upset the neighbors) or I just toss on a suppressor.

    S&W 1911's are definitely underrated. Their performance centre pro series 1911 is excellent.
    BUT...
    The silly folks at S&W use a proprietary notch cut geometry for their rear sights. So if you want to change the sights to match your preference there is next to nothing available after market!... very frustrating.

Absolute best fit, finish, value, and performance 1911 that can be had for that price point period. Till your video, I did not know the 70 series mecanism and bigger extractor weren’t standard fearures.
    It really is a nicely built gun! I like that trigger, no grit and heavy enough (I hate 2 pounds triggers for defence/combat).

    If anyone is on the fence about DW, get a Blem instead of a new one. Saves about $300 and you literally can't find the blemish and it's a great gun

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  7 лет назад +3

      Matt Pfaff I agree. When you can find them at my dealer they are between a little more then $300 off and most of the time you can not find it until you read the paperwork that tells the new owner where the blemish is. :) It is a great deal for a high quality 1911.

    Just got a new/in-box Dan Wesson V-bob 9mm at a gun auction for $925. Wasn't planning on buying it but I couldn't let it go to someone else for that price. I've always liked the look and feel of 1911's but haven't ever personally owned one before. I feel like I'm playing catch up, trying to learn about something different than a striker fired Glock. I felt like I got a pretty sweet deal on it. My buddy picked up the SS Dan Wesson Specialist at the same auction for $950. I knew Dan Wesson's were in the $1500 ball park but I didn't know the differences at the time between the Valor or Specialist. If only I did I would have outbid him for the Specialist. Sweet video, glad to hear that the DW lives up to the hype.

    S&W E series seems like a really great buy. What is your favorite 1911 that you have owned or shot?

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  7 лет назад +1

      Harleyforever20 My 2 favorites right now, The Les Baer Stainless Custom Carry for $2299 and the Dan Wesson Specialist in Stainless For $1799?? Not 100% on the price of the DW, but the $1799 is close. In today's prices of $2800 to $4500 Wilsons, Nighthawks, and Ed Brown's, I think the pistols that I picked represent a very high quality example for a good price. You can spend less, but the quality is less also. Not saying that a Sig, Ruger, or Rock Island, or Smith and Wesson are not good 1911's and they are all good picks for less then $1,000. Like the Smith and Wesson 1911 in this video. Good Luck. Beretta Sr.

      BERETTA9mmUSA thank you so much for the time to reply. I had a gut feeling you would say the Les Baer. It happens to be my favorite 1911 also. I traded a Para Black Ops away to get it. Mine is a Concept VIII . I love it! I shoot it very well. I really like your channel. I appreciate your work putting up videos.

    The thumb safety in my E Series S&W seems lacking that “snap” - it works just fine but leaves something to be desired vs. my Colt. Then again, I payed much more for the Colt. Maybe I should leave it alone!

    I notice the Specialist is a factory blemished gun. Is there anything noticeable as to why its given the blem mark?

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  Год назад

      It was a small flat spot on the rail. About the size of a pea. I thought it was good fortune for almost a 20% savings. Great DW 1911. Some Blems have more things wrong, some have less. There is a page from the factory telling you what was wrong & why it is a less expensive Blem Model.
      Best, Beretta9MMUSA Sr.

      Vinny Campanella Hi Sir, You are mostly correct, the Valor was considered the Top of The Line until the Specialist was born as like an equal, but the Tactical 1911 with Rail and all. According to the Dan Wesson Representatives that I talked with. If you spend any time with both Pistols, you can see that they are equal in almost every way. The Specialist Should Not Be Missed, check one out when you can, and see what you think. Thanks for watching and for the comment Sir. Have a fabulous weekend. 👍👊😎🇺🇸 Beretta Sr.

    • @the45er
      @the45er 2 года назад +1

      I agree but would also ask what do you get with "hand fitting" in the Dan Wesson other than a $700 hole in your wallet? Both of these guns will go bang-bang-bang for a long time very reliably and accurately. Other than prestige, I think the difference is zilch.
