Regarding the OT play fumble and the entry onto the field. If it had been a TD and game continued, and ONLY the goal post in the opposite end of the Field was taken Down, the game would have continued with just the one functioning goal post, since we never use the Goal post in the opposite end of the field during OT - or????
Under Rule 8-2-1-a, "This plane extends beyond the pylons only for a player who touches the ground in the end zone or a pylon", so any body part touching in the end zone or touching a pylon would activate the GL extended. (The pylons are part of the end zone but are also out of bounds.)
What the hell is that field goal rule @5:22 ? If the ball is higher than the uprights it can't be reviewed, why? That just means a crooked ref could rule that a 15 yard game winning field goal right down the middle is no good knowing that because it was higher than the uprights replay can't override him.

Please please please spend some time on the final play of VT vs Miami from Friday night.
No way they cover that… I’ve seen them go against the officials in benign situations, but they’ll (smartly) steer clear of this one
So for the first clip do you not have to hit the pylon with the ball just any part of the body to activate goal line extended?

There's no camera angle that would identify if the ball passed inside the vertical extension of the goal post.
There are tons of plays that can’t be reviewed. The rules aren’t meant to rein in crooked refs.
