Another gem! As a beginner I would love to see you make a series on pure fundamentals with perhaps some basic movement home drills for us complete newbies.

This is one of the most important fundamentals. This video is so well done. Very systematic.

Amazingly useful video. Beginners don't need 30mins of explanation for a single escape. This is solid advice for many positions, and easy to remember.

as a newbie! this video really helps, as I am an "old guy BJJ" practitioner, I want to build strong defence which will flow more natural, which with patience will lead to creating my own opportunities for offence, NOW!if I can just keep the body intact to keep training , lol.

T-Rex making a bed... If you're extending a limb, it needs to be with intent and positional awareness... 😁

Great advice as usual. What has really helped me as a new white belt is remembering and practicing to keep my elbows in tight a lot of the time along with when, not if, I feel a hand coming from over my shoulder to setup for a choke I reach up in an X position to go to "shake their hand" and try and prevent the choke.

Of all the BJJ instructionals I feel like this is the one I've seem where the title actually matches the instructions in terms of what level he is speaking it. A lot of the time you'll see instructionals about fundementals meant for white belts explained at a level meant for colored belts.

Back defense is almost all defending the hooks as much it is defending the choke. In competititon you will give way too many points if the guy gets the hooks in. Anyone can defend the neck if you dont need to worry a bout the hooks. This dilemma is the problem (back defense is hard because its the hooks and the chokes/armlocks you need to defend.
