Hey there,
In this video I take a look at the forged in fire knife set. The forged in fire knife claims to be the sharpest knife on the market. With the forged in fire knife you can cut frozen meat easily as well as slice paper thin fruits and vegetables. The forged in fire knife also claims to be able to chop the competition in half. The forged in fire knife set was based on the History Channel show forged in fire. The forged in fire knife that was purchased for $29.99 at Walmart. Check out my review right here for the forged in fire knife.

The cheese knife has holes! The biggest difficulty in cutting cheese is friction!
Your cheese test is kind of flawed. The cheese will create friction and smear on the sides of the knife so it doesn't matter if you cut it with a straight razor, it will require force. That's why the best cheese cutters are wire.
You're right. Cheese cutters are best...most people dont have one. I think the thickness of this knife is what gave me the most trouble. That being said...I use it every day. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
That's also why your copper knife did better with the cheese. The holes act as breathing vents. Cheese knives are all hollow like that for the same reason
I went from the copper chef knife to the forged in fire set you are showing and wow. What a night and day difference. Amazing knife.
I'm a fan of the Forged in Fire knife as well. Thanks for sharing your experience. Have a great day and stay safe.
I believe those puns may actually be intended
Haha. Absolutely. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I always laugh at the commercial for this knife. The gullible folks that will fall for this knife never ceases to amaze me Ain't no way your cutting thru a solid frozen piece of meat.
This is why I like testing out the items... fun to see if they are honest. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
it is overbuilt and dead soft, so you can bang on a piece of frozen meat all day long without snapping it.
Everything is sharp out of the box but will fade out quick. $10 replacement cost means it’s a $10 knife. But thanks for the review, the commercials really made me curious. I’ve got a $35-40 8” chef knife from Target. It’s a Henckels forged Premio line. Didn’t try paper thin grapes but the sturdiness and quality for that price point is great.
Just bought this like 20 mi uses ago and can't wait to use it
Cool, let me know what you think.
It is easer yo cut the cheese with your original knife because the new one is thicker and is meant for slicing and heavy meat.
I agree...I need a good cheese knife. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Hell yea i need me a new chef knife. Lets gooooo
This one was pretty decent - as long as you're not trying to cut other knives...ha!
My favorite spikey haired on seen on youtube dude on youtube.
can you make one on your hair gel and why? good cut on that knife.
Haha, thanks for coming by and checking me out - spiked hair and all.
I just bought this set for $8. 😁
Factory sharpened knives are usually great on the first few times used. After that, the quality of the steel tells the real story. I use a German steel 8" chef's knife that I can sharpen with 2 swipes on my sharpener if needed.
You're right I have had to sharpen these from time to time. I still use them. Thanks for sharing.
How expensive were the German knives? I'm not a chef but want to use the best I can afford.
@@michelebeard6631 Victorinox Fibrox Pro Knife, 8-Inch Chef's FFP, 8 Inch, Black -----buy a strop and compound, its amazing for the cost if you like the feel for your hand and preference ....you can always spend more but there is definitely a quick diminishing return on investment with the more you spend on knives.
The cheese issue was not the sharpness, but the high polish vs the grippy texture of the cheese and you're old knife has that non-stick texture that doesn't drag against the cheese.
I got my set for only 15 bucks. I consider it a great buy, a real steal. BTW, the show is still on the air with new episodes!
I saw it the other day. Pretty neat. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Sadly the sharpness out off the box means nothing almost any knife will cut like that in the beginning. Edge retention that’s where you see the quality of a knife
You're correct, most knives are sharp out of the box and these aren't any different. I will say over time they get dull and need to be sharpened...I still use this knife on a regular basis. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
GREAT REVIEW
Glad you liked it. Thanks for checking it out.
made in china , screw that
Most products are made over seas. Things are starting to be manufactured in the US.
Btw....Your presentation was great. I will definitely subscribe.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for the support.
that's because the forged knife doesnt have the indents near the sharp part of the blade which actually helps it not stick to the blade and the other one has holes which basically acts as the indents on knives that have no stick properties
Everything was okay besides the explanation with cheese and the knife test..
Cutting cheese isnt like cutting meat and of course cutting through the cheese will especially if the knife isnt given any breathing room or lubrication to cut through, will just stick like if you even cut with any polished piece of metal, which that got to me to an extent.
But who would even cut another knife? why..
My set just came in the mail today 4/10/2020 Saw your channel at the perfect time before I opened set. Thanks!!!
That's awesome, I use mine daily! Let me know how they work for you.
In my observance I noticed all the "hammer marks" are exactly the same. And if my memory serves me correct, their Made in China. With that being said. Yes the handle is light plastic probably with lead weight fillers. The rivets in said handle is most likely super glued in and doesn't go all the way through. The hammer marks are most likely going to be molded form a master die.
The Chinese are masters at replication and making things look better than they are.
Lol at that Warrantee though. Who can decide what "normal use" is when they so falsely advertise that those knives can cut through other knives? So They are basically expecting people to do as you have done by trying to chop knives in half with them, and then not honor Their warrantee because the obvious edge rolls from subsequent abuse is going to dictate Their decision in sending You a new one.
Very suspicious..
So thats my.. sort of review/opinion.
I've had experiences with "As Seen on T.V. And two things I learnt from that; 1. Most As Seen on T.V products are of the same quality and, 2. Their products came from the same mailing address. (on the back of the packaging near the Copyright info)
You're probably right that these knives were mass produced to look the same. I will say the knife part has a really good weight to it. I'm less impressed with the handle - felt cheap. I use mine almost every day - then again I was looking for a new kitchen knife...that being said I was a little sad when the forged in fire knife wasn't able to chop a much cheaper knife in half. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
No problem dude :D Thanks for taking time to reply :)

It's now $14.95 at Walmart. GREAT review!
Purchase for $8 at menards!
I just bought the same set at Walmart for 11.98
Cool, thanks for sharing.
So did you happen to notice in the commercial that the tomatoes and the pineapple or glued down that's why they're flexing with the pressure of the blade as they go through it in slow-mo thanks for your work though PS everyone can cut it thin and fast if your Chef trained
I didn't even noticed that they were glued...I'll look closer the next time I see it.
Who else is here a year later? Just picked this up at Walmart for $12!
👋
Just bought mine seems good, can't wait to cut 🔪
I love the knives, 14.98 at Target
I like them too...use them almost every day. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
I loved my Forged in Steel knife when I got it, but it seemed to dull after 4 or 5 uses.
I find that I have to sharpen them between uses. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
cheep chinese junk
Exactly what I mentioned above. It's a gimmick. It's made of cheap metal that can't hold an edge.
I am not even sure if they bothered to harden them at all.
This is so awesome. Thanks for making this video
Absolutely! Glad you liked it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
You chopped the wood on the knife test
well the knife certainly didn't chop. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

10 bucks so you still pay for it no matter what. Warranty to me is free of charge Replacement
that's how they get you! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thank you for doing this.
absolutely, thanks for taking the time to comment.
I love my set! Got them at Walmart for $15. The paring knife was sharper out of the box but hubby love sharpening anything he can get his hands on, so now they are both super sharp. They fit right in with my Spyderco chef knife sets. We love the show and and we love our knives!
I was impressed with the quality of these knives for a pretty cheap price. If maintained and sharpened these will last a long time. I still love mine. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Got to cut the cheese every now and then. Great review. Thumbs up for ya
I thought the cut the cheese part was pretty funny - ha. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Coffey Outdoors You beat me to that joke LOL
@@ghettovanadventures it's the only way to relieve the pressure - ha. Thanks for checking it out!
I wouldn't use any knife for cutting cheese that isn't specifically designed for cheese. Some that have holes or grooves can work a little bit better than a typical knife, but almost all will have cheese stick.
I buy a 10 pack of victorinox paring knives for $10. Use until they're dull and toss them
Lol. That's a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
There are many good knives in the world of cutlery . I always watch the show as I am a knife maker myself . I bought
the same set from Wal-Mart for half that price and for what they cost they are pretty nice kitchen knives . I have to say
I really had my doubts about cutting the knife also , maybe with a hammer and a real cheap steel knife . But cutting
knives is not what I bought them for . If you want a good set of knives for a reasonable price , they are a good choice .
If your expecting a $300 knife for $15 , you may not be happy with them , but very good for $15 . Look at them this
way and you'll be very happy . I'm sure any of the judges on the show would be glad to make you a better one for $300 .
The copper knife is designed for cheese cutting and sushi.
Thanks for the tip. Have a great day and stay safe.
Love this review! Thumbs up 👍
glad you liked it! thanks for taking the time to comment.
I bought a few Murcer knives they are pretty good & cheap money wise. Chef knife about 27 bucks.
Thanks for the tip! have a great day.

Damn I just bought mine from Wally World for $14.97. I bought them to use my new whetstones. I will probably sharpen them them gift them to someone. I could not find the steel rating for the life of me though. 🤔
I saw they were discounted at Walmart too. It's a good price. I couldn't find the steel rating either. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@@Jeffreviews4u picked them up at Wally tonight discounted to 7 bucks.
Awesome. Im going 2 keep an eye out 4 it!! Bet it will work good when i barbecue. Much love. Stay blessed fam
I was impressed with how sharp it really was. Plus it looks nice in the knife block.
Its amazing
Web site says 5 year warranty. Not 50 years.
I loved your demonstration, you were very honest. I subscribed and hit the little bell 🔔!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
But cutting cheese isn’t really a good test because cheese will take pretty much the same amount of pressure with a dull knife as it would with a sharp knife
You're right. I just really wanted it to slice smoothly - without pressure. A cheese knife is a better choice. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I bought the same set of 2 knives. Maybe you got lucky or maybe I got unlucky. Both of mine are the dullest most useless knives I have ever purchased. The paring knife won't even cut a tomato without crushing it, something that even my cheap, plastic Walmart knife does without a problem. Hands down, worst knife I have ever bought.
That stinks. Mine have gotten dull over time but I use a sharpener. Maybe that will help. Thanks for sharing your experience.
The cheese knife has holes! The biggest difficulty in cutting cheese is friction!
lol...thanks for the info.
That's why I use a cheese wire best 10 bux I ever spent
Never have used it
I use mine almost every day. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
Cutco is a really nice brand that is Made in America. I love my Cutco knives and they are dishwasher safe.
I may be biased because I am a Cutco Independent Representative. So yeah, I proudly sell them.
I do watch forged in fire and it bums me out these knives are not as high quality of Cutco. I almost expected them to surpass Cutco.
Oh well, dm me if you want a virtual demo :)
I feel like that regular knife has never been sharpened (bad comparison). Trying to cut a knife in half? Smh...wow.
You did not mention where are these knives made?
I bet China.
The manufacturer is listed to be Halex Holdings, located in Florida. That being said they receive shipments from china - so probably.
Who is the very nice presentation with the forged in fire knife. I do believe that you forgot to mention one thing how long does it stay Sharp? Is it permanently that sharp or do you need to sharpen it from time to time please make a presentation on that
As with all knives they get dull over time. I sharpen it about 1X per month. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I can have the cheese and summer hotdog ☺️
And this is the knife to slice it. It did a pretty good job! Have a great day.
Wrong it's 2021 and I just watched an infomercial with the same certificate of authenticity
That's interesting. Thanks for sharing.
You really shouldn't use a good knife to cut cheese. That's why they have cheese slicers, which are really like razors. Cheese tends to dull a regular knife. They are better for other things.
I never knew that, and I have a cheese slicer. Thanks for the tip and for stopping by and commenting.
@@Jeffreviews4u You're welcome. Thanks for the video!
@@cassandralibertywest4310 👍
Cassandra, I believe he was trying to replicate the commercial he saw, to test the validity of the commercial.
@@pjhanna1432 in my 30 or so years cooking I never seen someone try to cut a knife.
Got one from Wal-Mart, total crap.
First use on vegetables and plastic cutting board the edge was sharp but chipped due to being too brittle.
Not worth 10 bucks to get another one.
the blade chipped? thanks for sharing.
@@Jeffreviews4u I put a proper edge on it and made it super sharp.
It is pretty though.
Where are they Manufacturered..
China
I consider the forged in fire knives to be barely passible the steel is way too soft, the geometry is too thick, and the handle is a bit long and heavy for a professional basketball player let alone anyone with average sized hands. If you want a decent chef knife Victorinox and Dexter Russell both make plenty of actually good knives at a reasonable price.
You use a knife to cut things? No way. They still have the show lol. It hasn't gone anywhere
Hahaha...go figure....thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I'm not impressed with mine. metal has black spots on it after one use and wash. Ive tried everything to get it off.
I tend to hand wash and immediately dry. They have held up for a long while.
Those knives are not hand forged
More like machine stamped. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Really good review! Could you do a review on a scrub daddy?
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it
Never do that to your knife. Cutting another knife. Now you have sharpen the knife because you ruined it.
Dalstrong shogun series. Best knife I've ever owned.
Thanks for the tip. Have a great day.
Yo micheal myers would love that knife lol
Ha - I'd definitely be scared if he had one.
With all due respect, I have to question your kitchen knife knowledge given you said, "...[seeing how it cuts cheese] is the test for me."
This isn't how anyone with even a modicum of cooking experience determines the quality of a knife. And if you don't believe me, try to cut a block of cheese with a piece of fishing line vs a $200 chef's knife. The 1.5 cent piece of fishing line will always win, hands down, it's physics.
LOL...I am certainly not a professional cook, and I do judge my knives by their ability to cut cheese. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@@Jeffreviews4u Try the tomato test instead, it's a much better benchmark.
Enjoy cooking!
Why can't you wash it in the washing machine ?
I washed the smaller of the two knives in the washing machine and the handle got discolored. I'm sure it will wear down over time. I tend to hand wash the majority of my cooking utensils and pans. that way they last longer. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks excellent review, might have to get one...like to see a review of the BLISS Damascus kitchen Knife that is comparable to the ForgedInFire knife size/type.

Hi Jeff great review you should give a set away to one of your subscribers thanks 👍
Hahaha. They are a good set of knives.
That's... That's not cheese.

The hammer marks are not real, I'm a blacksmith so ya...
That is correct, these are most likely cast from a mold.
La vidéo est convaincante MAIS j'ai reçu le produit et quelle déception impossible de couper facilement une simple carotte. Je vous le déconseille fortement
I want some cheese now...
Haha. Even though it's not a cheese knife, I still use it - thanks for the comment.
Good knife at the price point? You still using it?
I use it daily, I have run it through the sharpener a few times. Hope this helps.

Haha. Then this your video - and knives. Thanks for the comment.
Good quality knives start at $100+ and go up from there
Some of us are on an as seen on TV budget - haha. Thanks for the tip! Have a great day.
Not true. I recently purchased a very good 8" chef knife from Amazon. Skylight is the brand and it's made from high carbon german stainless steel. Been using it for 2 months now and still sharp. Ohh and almost forgot it cost less the $20...
I also recommend Dalstrong gladiator series. Lots of chefs use them and they're very good for under $100.
Both knives mentioned have lifetime warranties
Is it a forged knife and is it made in China?
As always a great review Jeff. Was that a full tang?
Looks like a good knife....Was it easy to sharpen?
I thought it sharpened pretty easily. I only sharpened it until the little dent came out.
Huge block of cheese dude..cheese stuck on knife..cheese test not to good...
Pepperoni..works on
Chop another knife..nope...just to bad
