all easy mods if you're in to DIY. it's thin wall steel, easily drilled and you can slot the holes as needed. at that point, initial price is the factor...
Muddy Gamer Nope! My wife wrote my M3 off last week so whilst I'm waiting for that to get sorted I thought I'd explore sim racing but am confused as to where to start. Should I dive in and be a Fanatec whore or should I stick to a G29/T300RS? I don't want to buy crappy hardware but then again don't want to spend £2K and find out it's lame. Like- how does the clutch feel on these high end pedals? Do they simulate a biting point or am I just daydreaming they're that good? Maybe I should just stick to Street Fighter 2! 😂
From what I've seen the GT Omega has a bar you can install that would allow for your pedals to be forward or back like the Next Level and neither of them allow adjustment for angle, so the next level can't really take your pedals in the upright mode you have them in because the angle would be too far off imo. You can also adjust the angle of the wheel arms on the GT Omega for a more F1 feel or a more "truck" feel. I do think both are nice, but I can find the GT Omega on sale(in my area) more often and for way less than the Next Level. I do think the Next Level does have a slightly better build in general with a sturdier base though
thanks for watching :) you can change the angle of the next lever foot plate but requires alot of messing around. i have now moved away from gt omega and got a complete sim setup and im very happy i did. what setup are you currently using?
Muddy Gamer I used to run off a Playseat Evolution setup. I liked it's ability to collapse somewhat for easier storage. I stopped sim racing for a while but am getting back into it. I don't have a large enough space for a full rig so right now I'm looking at various setups that can collapse again, plus using VR to minimize the need for a triple screen setup. In my area I can get the GT Omega for about 40% less than the Next Level, though I do think the Next Level is better constructed, I don't know if it's 40% better ;). If I had enough space, I'd go full setup though so I'm sure you are enjoying the hell out of it.
I had a GT Omega Wheel Stand that I don't use anymore. Good enough for a starter setup especially for those who have extremely limited space like me but I don't suggest buying any of these unless you really plan to upgrade them to a full rig (in the case of the GT Omega). Everyone suggests these two for the sturdiness but I'll take the less sturdy Playseat Challenge or the new NLR GT-Lite over these two. Adding a load cell mod to my pedals ruined the whole experience of the wheel stand for me, even more when I upgraded to a proper load cell pedal. Having a seat with the rig is a game changer over using a cheap chair or worse, your typical office chair with wheels.
@@jameszanghi3564 I never had that experience with my playseat challenge. might be different from person to person. also had no issues with my loadcell. just that it naturally requires you to press harder. your typical GT Omega stand setup or rather your typical chair cannot support that. you definitely need a seat that is fixed together with the stand so nothing is moving when you brake hard.
Either would work for me, although I think the pitched pedals on the NLR stand will be unused due to me sitting higher than a typical car seating height. I'll still pick the NLR stand due to rigidity though. It looks as if it could handle an Accuforce wheel.
Nice review, new subscriber. I just pre-ordered a GT Omega Classic Wheelstand. It now comes with 2 different shifter mounts, and the pedal plate appears to be angle-adjustable. It appears similar to the ART cockpit front end, but it does not have the additional uprights the ART cockpit has
This really helped me I was going to buy the cheap one with the middle bar and I worried about that hurting my knees ^^ Now I'm going to buy one of these two
considering playing with your back attached to the sofa, which is more comfortable? I arrive well both at the wheel and pedals? i'm tall 173cm how much space do they take up (in heigth) with the steering wheel attached when is folded? playing on the sofa which wheel stand do you advice?
@@MuddyGamer could you tell me please, when you have time, in how much seconds (more or less) you can fold the gt omega and how much is high from the floor with the wheel attached when is fold? thank you very much!
@@MuddyGamer ok, last 2 thing: is sturd or wobble when you play? and for the sofa do you suggest the gt omega instead of the next level for the angle? or for what? thanks in advance! :)
Good comparison vid. I wish the Next level had an angle adjustment like you said. I've fitted the Fanatec wheel to mine now and had to cut down some of the bolts to hold it in place. Not a biggie but they didn't consider this. However, they did provided a versatile pedal mount for the Fanatac pedals which is great. Thanks for the review Muddy.
Nice video buddy, I have the wheel stand right now and the middle bar is a nightmare, I just dont know which to go for. I have the T3PA Pro pedals in the GT set up like you but not sure which stand would be best for it.
I'm looking to buy the GT Omega wheel stand but was wondering how comfy or stable is the shifter addon . Is it adjustable and does it feel like it's in the right place (does it feel natural)? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from across the pond. ( do they say that anymore)? lol
Hi is this the gt omega apex wheel stand and if it is, is there an add on seat which u can buy to convert it to a gt omega art cockpit? Because i wanted the nlr as i can buy an add on seat to convert it to a gtultimate v2. I currently do not have the space for a cockpit but it's nice to add on a seat when i have the space for it thanks and nice video
Nice comparison. I was wondering how difficult it was to fold up the omega as I've been using the NLR stand but can't afford the seat add-on. So I'm thinking of getting the Omega instead along with the seat add-on as it's much more affordable. But I still want to be able to fold at least the stand part out of the way!
@@MuddyGamer I'm with you thanks for that. Turns out the base I'd need for the stand is only pre order until 5th May. For practicality I've decided to keep my NLR stand & get a GT Omega Elite chair with the lowest gas piston. If the lockable casters make it still to high I can replace them with low profile Gliders. I've been using a rotating X-rocker up until now & that aspect doesn't affect you because the pedals are so central to where you're pushing from against the chair. If it doesn't work out after all that I'll return it & pre order the base, front & seat for May 5th instead. Thank you for helping me decide!
@@MuddyGamer no worries. It's just a shame the extension for the NLR stand is so extortionate. The other part is so affordable. I reckon many would leave their ecosystem for something else altogether when deciding to get more into it. Thanks again
I’m really interested in the next level racing wheel stand . The thing is I wanna put a usb handbrake, the thrustmaster tss is the obvious choice but how to put it on the stand ? Any suggestions ?
Build quality is good. I think the one I have is actually more easily adjustable, but it doesn't fold up quite as easily, its more like a 2 step process.

Great comparison. Just bought the GT for my G29 but will definitely get the Next Level when I upgrade my wheel set up. Thanks!
Nice to see them in a side by side comparison! Good job! 👍🏼
thanks. i have now upgraded to the simetec K2 have you looked at that at all?

Detailed and comprehensive video, thank you. I now feel as though I can buy the Next Level one with confidence!
Glad it was helpful!
I really like how Next Level Racing made their pedal plate adjustable, to bad that GT Omega didn't think of this.
thinking of going full simetik
Okay great!
Their cockpits looks nice, and have read good things about them.

people say the playseat challenge has an issue where when you push the pedals hard it lifts up the front of the chair. you dont have that issue?
also what specifically was the issuw with the loadcell? was th seat moving away or was the stand tipping over?

not sure these would hold up to a accuforce wheel if om honest unless you ancored them to the rear subframes
can you actually comfortably use either one from a couch? Looks like the wheel position would be too high/forward for couch gaming
with the gt omega yes. as it was jusr right for me but the next level couldnt get close enough
