Absolutely love your reviews! Yours are so straight forward and honest, I really feel comfortable taking your advice on these products. Also, I want to thank you for the WiFi 6 Oculus quest Virtual Desktop set up video. By far the most comprehensive step by step I've seen. You had me set up and streaming in no time. I owe you!
Currently with the sales , the Apex + rear frame + rs6 seat comes out to $119.99 + $114.95 + $219.95 = $454.89 before taxes here in the states. The ART cockpit on the GT website with Karl's discount applied comes out to $399.95 before taxes so a +$55 difference if you were to build an Apex RS6 cockpit vs a ART cockpit kit.
It does seem a little weird that you have to pay more to have less room taken up but after the last 3 to 4 days of looking for a solution to having an alternative to mounting a wheel to a desk as flimsy as mine I think I am 100% on something now.
Great review! I have the Apex wheel stand and was in the market for a cockpit, but I never knew about the add-on for a seat, Awesome!!! Thanks, I'm ordering the rear section using your link. Again, 1000 thanks.

@@KarlGosling my rear seat frame arrives on Thursday. I was wondering if I could use the Art simulator Caster Wheels with the frame. Which type of screw are the feet? Are they m8/M10? Do you recommend to use the Caster wheels with the frame? Thanks in advance and sorry for my sloppy/clumsy english.
So I’m back after about 8 months of iracing. I first bought the Apex stand and put a simagic Alpha Mini 10 on it and it worked just fine so I decided to get the seat add on. Hey mate! Great job as usual! You have cornered this entry level market for sure. Thanks Stephen! :) I think I must just be getting more used to it as I never edit or cut (re-record) any of my video's, everything is just one take. Definitely once I have a big enough audience, right now maybe 800 subs watch each video on average so to get enough people all online at the same time would be very hard, the rest of my views are from non subscribers... this sounds small at only 10% of my subs but is quite normal looking at other RUclips statistics.
Of course. You know your own market much better than me. I hope u dont think im being opinionated....just suportive mate! I did question the numbers right now ..... but I reckon it will be a goer soon. As will a DD as i have said before!! Lol
I just got the Apex. Was curious about this extension. I think your the first on RUclips to review it. I don't have space so won't be getting a full rig any time soon. Not unless I get another gaming PC anyway :). Maybe something I'll be interested in in the future. I was pleased that they didn't just hook it to the back of the stand and chose to extend the frame forwards to the front of the stand for a little extra rigidity. Thanks for the great review :)
It is a very small niche, even the larger channels barely break 50k or 60k (unless you just want gameplay video's which seem to do really well)... but that's cool, still something to aim for! :)
If anyone is interested in this and can't find it also have a look at the x-rocker chicane racing seat and x-rocker wheel stand. It's pretty much identical to this. I did as Karl described - bought the stand and then shortly afterwards bought the matching seat to make it into a cockpit. I love it.
"Trusty G920" - i am on my 3rd one as the upshift paddle then the downshift paddle failed on the first, then the throttle started to get stuck on the 2nd followed by the upshift paddle failing. 3rd one is already showing early signs of the upshift failing. I use it a few hours a week. Wont be going near Logitech again.
Just what I was looking for. Have the csl elite wheel and inverse club sport lined up, and the apex stand. If the hobby sticks I’m planning to do this upgrade and the clubsport Forza wheel. Your videos helped me on stability and compactness concerns.
Sadly I got my hands on a well priced dd1 and I’ll have to scrap my plans.. 80/20 is the new plan :) Probably gt1-evo, as the prime and px1 take up more space and weight. Still at odds..

I think that this rear seat mount will work on my nlr stand, measurements are exactly the same but from the video I don't understand how the stand is secured to the rear seat structure, where the bolts go? Or the stand is just sitting on the long legs of the rear seat mount ?
Most movement appeared to be in the seat back. Movement observed in the wheel stand review, which you attributed to carpet, appears to be gone. Indeed, this combination appears more rigid than did your ART cockpit before adding custom braces..?
I’m looking for a temporary rig set up placed in front of my 77 inch tv in my main living room. So the question is how practical would it be to unlock the 2 parts to hide away upstairs then bring it down to bolt it back together…..every time you plan a long driving session.
Great review! I would also appreciate if you could mention how god the rig is if you want to mount base shakers, motionrigg, gearshifter. So a little more about compatibility options. That is atleast very important for me in chosing a future rig :) Cheers!
Sure! :) Shakers can be mounted to any rig as they just need a hard surface to bolt so this is no different, motion platform would be hard to comment on without actually fitting one (but you can make anything fit with a little modification) and the gear shifter is in the review of the wheel stand as it's not part of the rear frame.
Skip this type of rig - and go straight to 80/20 rig (far more versatile and stable/solid) - You will end up there in the end (even if you think that you won't now) Once you add the cost of the addons, you be nearing an 80/20 rig cost anyway.
Hello Karl! I love your reviews. Very down to earth and easy to understand. Thanks for doing those! A couple of questions. Is the Apex rear frame and ART cockpit chairs the same height off the floor? And how high off the floor are the seats on each?
Is it possible to get the distances (both side to side and front to back) between the holes in the frame, that you bolt the seat on to? I'm looking to get this to fit a real car seat (from Mercedes CLA) into this. Wondering if the seat rails will match the holes.
Does anyone know if it's also compatible with the next level racing wheel stand 2.0? Their own seat and rear frame costs 600€+shipping which in total is more than a pretty good cockpit. Their seat is also really bad which makes it a total ripoff so I was wondering if this gt omega addon could also be used on the NLR 2.0.
Can you add the caster wheels under the frame? I’ve got the Apex Wheel Stand and I’m looking to add the rear frame with the racing seat but I want to be able to easily wheel it in and out of my desk and put it aside whenever I’m not using it.
Yes, if your runners are no wider than the rear base you will be able to bolt it straight down by drilling 4 holes, you never know they may even already line up! :)
Just wanted to write a quick thank you Karl! You sparked my re interest in sim racing, and in rally. Your and SRG videos helped me navigate the forest. Been having a blast the past days, especially in dirt 2 and pcars2. Rally with physical handbrake and shifter (Sequential and H, and padles for GT). In VR it’s even better and with pimax wide fov there’s no need for triple monitors! The only losers in all of this are my wallet and the wife... don’t tell her I said that 😅
Does the seat come with the adjustable forward and backwards. Or is it the base that comes with that piece. I have a good gaming chair I would like to incorporate with this but want to be able to move forward and backwards. Thanks
I just received my rs6 seat but the recline function does not work. The mechanism seems completely jammed right out of the box. Not sure if its a manufacture error or not.
@@KarlGosling I figured, but I like to double check and make sure Im not just being a space cadet. I should just remember murphys law governs my life, and act accordingly haha. Appreciate the quick response! Cant wait to actually get my ass in the seat.
Awesome video I’m looking to get one but this has been out of stock in the USA for a while now and gt omega told me they r not sure when it will be back in stock
Good review and it looks like something I'd consider. My GT Omega Apex came with wide-flat feet instead of the more narrow ones you got with your unit. I wonder if they switched foot style along the way in production. As for the seat, I wonder how hard it would be to mount a Mazda MX-5 seat to that rear assembly...
Hey Karl, i might have missed this but do you have the dimensions of the mounting points? i was wondering if used car seats would be able to bolt on the frame? Cheers
@@KarlGosling Thank you. I’m actually just seeing this reply because I’m back again and I purchased the rear seat frame. I ended up getting the stand too and it handles my simagic Alpha Mini at about 9 nm with no problem if anyone is worried about it.
I'm using the RS9 and its quite uncomfortable. It has 0 lumbar support and as someone like yourself you have a wide back/shoulders, it forces you to roll your shoulders forward which makes me ache after a while. I would recomment nothing less than the XL
@@KarlGosling I look forward to the comparison! A lot of people said the RS6 was great, so I went a step further and got the RS9, if the cheaper seat fits my frame better I'm gonna punch myself!
Which seat would you guys recommend for someone 6’5” and 200 lbs? I’m assuming the XL just based on the seat base length alone. More support under the legs.
Hey man! great video! I have the apex with a csl dd and it works great. I want to add the rear frame and seat for not in stock for ages. Any alternatives as we enter 2023? thanks in advanced man!
Stock is still such an issue for everyone right now, there nothing else that bolts on that I know of mate. Other options would be to sell the stand and buy the GT Omega ART full cockpit?
@@KarlGosling I was able to recently grab an apex rear seat frame as they came back in stock. Do you know if the OpenWheeler Racing seat fits this frame? it is just over 200 bucks in amazon right now.
I have the Apex frame & would like to add the rear frame I just not sure about the seat I know that gtomega dont have any stock of the seats any recommendations for an alterative Carl ?
Great review, Karl. New to sim racing, picked up a g920 and a second hand classic stand. Thinking of adding the classic rear and rs6 as assume similar to this. Looking at the classic I can still easily remove the rear to easily store away (Wife won't let me have anything out 247!!) Anywho, the discount for GT link above, doesn't seem to work for the UK store. Any ideas??
Sounds like a good plan to me mate, if you also buy the castors you can just separate the two and wheel them away! :) The link is working, it's literally applied at checkout so until you click to pay you don't see it.
Hey Karl, have you tried the Onega Titan rig? If so, what’s your thoughts? I was gonna get the pro, then I realised there’s not much adjustability, was gonnna get that art cockpit but I stopped myself buying because some say there’s too much flex. So I found out about the Titan but it’s £430 so I’m unsure.
Not yet, I hope to have one in at some point though! The ART is great for anything other than a DD wheel base, it does benefit greatly from bracing as I've shown in another video as without doing that there is a fair bit of flex.
@@KarlGosling cheers for reply. Yes I was going to do what you did, with the Art but I can barely change a light bulb. I’m not rolling in money but I have enough in bank to buy £430 Titan. Do you think it will be adjustable enough for a short arse 5ft 2 person to fit comfortably with feet properly touching pedal and have the wheel at right height? I’m just worried because I’m short, I’ll have wheel touching my chest or having wheel way too high. I’m prob worrying too much but I’d be very unhappy if I take a punt and it don’t work out. I was gonna message Gt Omega and ask then about adjustability for someone like me but I don’t fully trust them. I just think they may just try and fob me off , saying oh yeah, you’ll fit in cockpit, just fine, to get a sale. It’s says they have 30 returns but when I read terms, it looks like you can only return item if it’s in the original packaging. I don’t know if this means, item must not be opened or if you are allowed to set up, realise it don’t work for you and re pack and send back. Oh, my left leg is a few inches shorter then the right and I can’t lift up left foot very high, without constant pain. like I said before, maybe it will still be fine but I just don’t know. The Titan don’t mention seat raising in description, like the Art but I may not even need to lift seat on Titan. I’m really quite embarrassed about my situation and there isn’t many reviews on Titan, except on on Omega website. Wish I could pop in store and try before I buy.
So I'm in the USA and I want to buy the seat frame sooo bad, but it hasn't been in stock for ages. Any suggestions on how I can get my hands on one of em? Been waiting forever and I'm starting to lose my patience haha.
www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1130L I've asked around and been told this seat bolts right up to it! I ordered one because gt omega is out of stock on seats
Hi, thanks for this..are the chairs interchangeable from the frame? I have an old GT Omega full frame not just stand, it’s just the seat that could do with an upgrade.. thanks in advance.
Hello Karl, would you mind telling me the sizes of your screens which can be seen in this video? Can't decide 43", 48" or 50" (gonna go for triple screens) i need to design my future project. Having hard time visualizing the size differences. Also quick question 'This one vs ART' which one for daily use not only for racing?
There's a 50" on the ART cockpit you see in the corner and the one I'm using in this video is 65". Hmm very very close between them, I think the Apex is a little more rigid out the box.
They're both out of stock at the moment, so maybe whatever comes in stock first. I'm looking forward to your comparison, hopefully it comes out before I have to make a decision. Thanks for responding so quickly! and by the way, just a heads up! I do gaming related videos as well, lve been doing it for about 3 years, and I have a full-on game room you might enjoy? I see by your shirts that you like them as well of course, if you're interested? if not no worries, thanks again I appreciate it keep up the good work.

I have an RS XL seat and stand with the logitech G920 and its great but have to say the H pattern gearbox is SHOCKING! Got a sequential upgrade that works great for Dirt 2.0.for Forza or any F1 just use flappies as the gearbox is terrible.
This is just way way overpriced.. always wanted the extension to place a seat on my nlr stand but the price of the extension and trash seat is just absurd... I just want the metal and place my sparco seat on it and not hack the stand with 80/20 aluminium
I was going to get a NLR or GT Omega rig in July - But they were always out of stock - So designed my own rig and built it with 80/20 - took a month for the parts to arrive, and love the versatility it gives. Even designed space for a NLR V3 or M2 motion platform to just slot in too. I went for the M2 and used my own seat I already had. Rig used for racing and flight sim.
@@KarlGosling sorry I thought that this video was about my stand (next level racing) I want to trade mine for a gt omega.. way more cheaper and easy to expand to a complete rig. This is cheap!! Nlr on the other end is trash, nice stand but high price

Been having a blast the past days, especially in dirt 2 and pcars2. Rally with physical handbrake and shifter (Sequential and H, and padles for GT).
In VR it’s even better and with pimax wide fov there’s no need for triple monitors!
The only losers in all of this are my wallet and the wife... don’t tell her I said that 😅
Lol excellent comment! 😆
Does the seat come with the adjustable forward and backwards. Or is it the base that comes with that piece. I have a good gaming chair I would like to incorporate with this but want to be able to move forward and backwards. Thanks
The seat comes with the runners mate not the cockpit.
In my opinion I almost think the apex complete cockpit set up looks more sturdy and better then the ART
Found the seat on Amazon but not the rear attachment.
GT Omega website mate, in stock right now.

Incredible quality review, thank you very much
My pleasure!
How high in this video is your tv off the ground mines like 55 cm I'm thinking about getting the rear frame as I've just got the apex wheel stand
I just received my rs6 seat but the recline function does not work. The mechanism seems completely jammed right out of the box. Not sure if its a manufacture error or not.
Yeah must be, obviously it should work! lol GTO Will get you a new one out sharpish I'm sure, their customer service IME is pretty good.
To quote my contact at GT Omega... "Trying to maintain stock right now is like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in it!"
I chatted with someone a few days ago and they said they should be ready for the holiday shopping season so I hope thats true.
@@lookitdisguy that’s good to hear!!
My early classic stand had those, they bend easily and is probably why they have changed.
Hey Karl, i might have missed this but do you have the dimensions of the mounting points? i was wondering if used car seats would be able to bolt on the frame? Cheers
I second this. Id love to go to a pull-a-part for a cheap seat if I can bolt it in..or mod the rails to fit
Same here!
So you say this stand can’t handle a DD wheel base but I watched a different video of someone taking a Fanatec DD up to 20 NM on it.
Obviously not at 20nm.... 5nm to 8nm would be just fine.
@@KarlGosling Thank you. I’m actually just seeing this reply because I’m back again and I purchased the rear seat frame. I ended up getting the stand too and it handles my simagic Alpha Mini at about 9 nm with no problem if anyone is worried about it.
Fantastic review , just need gt omega to get some in stock to order it lol
Yeah they have been struggling to keep stock since April, like a lot of places.
Its back in stock in the US! Does anyone here have any comments regarding the RS6 vs RS9 seats?
RS6 Is a touch wider if you're a big guy, RS9 looks cooler! :) lol
Set-up is so nice.
I'm using the RS9 and its quite uncomfortable. It has 0 lumbar support and as someone like yourself you have a wide back/shoulders, it forces you to roll your shoulders forward which makes me ache after a while. I would recomment nothing less than the XL
I have one coming so will be interesting to compare, these RS6 seats are very comfortable and I have no issues at all mate.
@@KarlGosling I look forward to the comparison! A lot of people said the RS6 was great, so I went a step further and got the RS9, if the cheaper seat fits my frame better I'm gonna punch myself!
As you're a time traveller I'd recommend going back and telling yourself to buy the RS6 instead! 😆
Which seat would you guys recommend for someone 6’5” and 200 lbs? I’m assuming the XL just based on the seat base length alone. More support under the legs.
Another great video watched it all and I’m not even in the market for a new cockpit 😂😂
lol thanks mate! :)
"Bolt on an arse end..." 😂
It is what it is mate! :) lol
Hey man! great video!
Ty so much you really are great at this :)
You're welcome!
What is the approximate weight of your tv on your gt omega art cockpit in the background? And is it using the addons mount or aftermarket?
50Kg and using the official mount, but only half of it! lol
@@KarlGosling by half do you mean only using 2 mounting points instead of 4?
I have the Apex frame & would like to add the rear frame I just not sure about the seat I know that gtomega dont have any stock of the seats any recommendations for an alterative Carl ?
Stock of seats are in transit as we speak so if you can just wait a bit longer 😃
@@KarlGosling no patience me mate lol
Great! Now do this with a CSL DD, plz.
How long is the whole thing?
Thank you
Hi, I have a gt omega office chair. Will this fit on the this?
I don't think so mate, you would need a chair that has fixing for seat runners.
The link is working, it's literally applied at checkout so until you click to pay you don't see it.
Hi will this suit a 6ft 4 person
i luv u.
It feels like you've made this review especially for me.
is the RS6 seat interchangeable with the RS9? will the RS9 fit the Apex cockpit?
Yes it will.
Can you say thus setup price
What is the seating height an depth? Thanks for the review!
The base you sit on is 20" deep and the back rest is 36" high.
Hi Karl, Im in Australia, I take it your discount wont apply to the aus Gt Omega store?
Should do mate yes, it's a global discount code, you'll see it at checkout literally just before you pay if you've used my link.
Are there other brand seats that would fit on this? Is it a standard size?
There's a fair bit of adjustment so I would think you can fit a lot of different seats yes.
Great review, any comments or experience if the RS9 is better for long driving stints? On the fence with what I should order.
Thanks
I'll let you know soon as I have one coming.
So I'm in the USA and I want to buy the seat frame sooo bad, but it hasn't been in stock for ages. Any suggestions on how I can get my hands on one of em? Been waiting forever and I'm starting to lose my patience haha.
Buy one from the UK, they are in stock.
Or wait till December 10th when Amazon US says they will have stock.
@@KarlGosling Wouldn't I have to pay in Pounds? And would they even ship to the US from there?
Thank you for reply by the way, much appreciated!
They are in stock in the US now, just ordered me one. Seats are still out of stock though :(
@@DannyStones360 haha so did I, I ordered it as soon as I woke up and seen the notification. Sucks the seats aren't in yet
www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1130L I've asked around and been told this seat bolts right up to it! I ordered one because gt omega is out of stock on seats
Hi, thanks for this..are the chairs interchangeable from the frame? I have an old GT Omega full frame not just stand, it’s just the seat that could do with an upgrade.. thanks in advance.
As far as I know, but without knowing what model cockpit you have I cannot say for sure.
@@KarlGosling looked everywhere fir a model name but nothing..
Thanks anyway..
Hi mate, are you able to get a different seat for the stand like a gt omega rs9 seat? Or not?
Yes mate any of them will fit the rear half.
@@KarlGosling OK thank you 👍👍
Which one is better in your opinion? The art or the apex with rear seat add on? Trying to figure out which to go with. Thanks
Video coming tonight mate! :)
@@KarlGosling Appreciate the response. Thank you. gonna go with 50" then.
Good videos Karl. Which TV's do you use? Thanks
In this video it's a Panasonic 65" LED, on my main rig a 50" Plasma.
@@KarlGosling thanks. How do find the lag & refresh rate with a TV for racing games?
Great video! Question what would you recommend the Art or Apex Setup?
Tricky one, but there is a video coming comparing the two.
Thank you for the promo code
No worries!
Karl do you use a normal TV or a pc monitor to race
TV mate, PC monitors are way too small unless you've got thousands to spend on a big one.
Great set up pal I'm on xbox at present playing pc2 but pissed of at playing against retards and are thinking of going down the pc route. I racing etc but not clued up as not techy and don't really know how much to spend or what ram etc I need to play without it being out of date in 12 months
I have an RS XL seat and stand with the logitech G920 and its great but have to say the H pattern gearbox is SHOCKING! Got a sequential upgrade that works great for Dirt 2.0.for Forza or any F1 just use flappies as the gearbox is terrible.
Yeah it's the weakest part of the G920 package... but better than no shifter at all! :)
@@KarlGosling Agreed. If you want a sequential mod, check link... www.3drap.it/product/sequential-shifter-mod-g27-g29/#reviews
Was watching this while putting this together when I realized... I don't have any f***** seat sliders 🤣😅
Oh!! lol
PSA: If you ever go for a drive with Karl, DO NOT ENGAGE HIM IN CONVERSATION lol >_
Man what is it about this Pic of this video????
Oh is he practicing the river dance????
I am yes!
This is just way way overpriced.. always wanted the extension to place a seat on my nlr stand but the price of the extension and trash seat is just absurd... I just want the metal and place my sparco seat on it and not hack the stand with 80/20 aluminium
You think £79 is too much?
I was going to get a NLR or GT Omega rig in July - But they were always out of stock - So designed my own rig and built it with 80/20 - took a month for the parts to arrive, and love the versatility it gives. Even designed space for a NLR V3 or M2 motion platform to just slot in too. I went for the M2 and used my own seat I already had. Rig used for racing and flight sim.
@@KarlGosling sorry I thought that this video was about my stand (next level racing)
I want to trade mine for a gt omega.. way more cheaper and easy to expand to a complete rig.
This is cheap!! Nlr on the other end is trash, nice stand but high price
@@charlielima the m2 motion platform is enough strong to withstand hard sessions for a long period of time?
@@LorenzoClara97 If you have the chair balanced and using it within the weight limits, you should have no probs - They do an upgraded version that has stronger motors, for constant all day use in more of a commercial setting.
