Cate is mesmerizing on and off screen and so is Rooney, in two very different ways, but somehow they compliment each other so well. The casting for this was amazing.
Sarah Poulsen doesn't get enough credit for her role too.

How come a shy girl like Rooney Mara can portrait Lisbeth Salander and Therese so well? She is a whole different person, being on set and being on red carpet or interview. She has a great potential.
It's called being a very talented actor
She is a very shy person as is Cate believe it or not. A lot of actors are. Rooney is a brilliant actress. She can transform herself into anyone that she feels she can do. She’s beautiful, intelligent. Graduated from college. We know about Cate and her career. I don’t think Rooney is recognized as much as she should be except for this film. I love watching her and have many of her movies. Quite honestly I didn’t know who Cate was until this movie since I’m not an avid movie watcher. I’ve come to know what she’s done since then.

You can tell there is genuine love in the air between Rooney and Cate. It´s simply felt. I think that outside of their roles in Carol, outside of their characters, these two have appreciation for one another, the chemistry is unquestionable. Director of the film could not choose better pair than these two together.
Rooney is so awkward, you'd never guess she was an amazing actress and the scion of 2 billionaire families. I hope this movie does wonders for her career as she deserves it she's so talented. Cate is heavenly as always

This film was fabulous, Cate and Rooney were fabulous. A lot of the things ive seen end in tragedy or are really teeny bopper or something close to it. Which is perfectly fine, but when the overwhelming majority of lgbt films and tv shows copy one another (same tragic ending bullshit) it gets old fast. I just watched this for the second time. I am so happy that this film was classy and elegant, but also depicted a wonderful love story anyone can relate to gay or straight. I think we have all been in teres's shoes at one point or another. Mesmerized, hopelessly infatuated but also genuinely falling in love all while being scared shitless at the same time. It was marvelous to watch.
Dammit, can these two just fall in love (if they haven't already), get together, live a happy life, and work on films together, until the end of time? It's the closest thing to having Carol and Therese actually exist and be happy, which is what I really wanted to experience.
It’s a film that I’ve watch 4 times so far and I’m not done watching it ;so that is the best compliment I can give a film .
