When I learned of this tune, I just assumed there was a full album to go with it, and was quite disappointed to find out it didn't exist. It's cheesy as hell, but I really wish more bands would go down this road.
I feel like the spacey faded vibe of this song really captures the christmas spirit really well. Christmas is about being in a happy and blissful haze.
It doesn't matter that you feel that it's "Christmas Promotion" - you can listen to this all year around because it's ....whatever you make of it.... it's jazz vibes...Khruangbin...and you can "lounge" to this on a nice summer evening just as well - just like you could to Vince Guaraldi's original...
I always felt like halloween is more of a western thing, yes elsewhere some people do partake in halloween. But where I'm from all we do is maybe go to a big halloween party and that's it. For the kids, some may just run around in costumes at home, no trick or treating and you don't see halloween decorations, maybe 1 or 2 houses. Christmas time arrives in september here, other than where im from I think the Philippines does it like this too.
LOVE this band SO much. Everyone is GREAT...coolest guitarist, sexiest bass player, and one of the best living drummers. Every drum strike is perfect from that dude!

I grew up with Spyro Grya, Chuck Mangione, Maynard Ferguson, Bob James etc…. And have longed for a band that is mostly instrumental and Khruangbin is just what I needed. Would love to hear a song with a horn arrangement with them.

*NEED* a whole album of this style; the distant, almost lo-fi, "in another room" relaxed tempo jazz-ish holiday songs. It would be amazing. Plenty of holiday songs that weren't written slow tempo can be converted into slow tempo. Do it Khruangbin. I'll buy it the day it comes out. Heard this in a store while holiday shopping, was easily my fave song of the season.
