Thanks a lot :) I love the Maya, very well thought through, beautiful colours and style, the wide bottom is actually good for your back, and the whole pack looks more natural than most modern versions that go up slim and high. The tempest I tried on and didn't like for me. The one thing I do not like about any of these newer packs is that they go up in weight instead of going down, some of their older versions were less heavy. 2 lbs is just too much, that's 20 percent of what I can and will carry. After a nice trend to cut weight in past years all the newer Osprey and Gregory versions seem to go up again - that's horrible. Especially when you think of the great lighter material options that are out there - and these packs are pretty expensive! When I now look at backpacks the first thing I think about is: what can I cut off them to lower the weight.
That’s very true about the weight. It’s just so difficult to get a quality backpack, not too heavy, and it not be $300. For the Maya, it’s just too long for me and I would hit the back of my head on the top frame. I really did like it. Thanks for watching!
I ended up with the Gregory Sula 16. I did a follow up video on it. It fits great, perfect size. However, it doesn’t work well for travel so I recently found the Osprey Sportlite 25 which is perfect for travel.

Thank you for showing *inside* the backpack! Even the manufacturer's website does not do this. Happy Trails :)
Thanks for watching! I try my best to show what I know I’ve struggled with to see the features of the backpacks. 🤗
Thanks for the in depth review, very useful :)
