The sole thing this gets right is that Supes always knew how to fight. The writers always forget that, and it's odd that Miller of all people would remember.
Remember what? There have been so many retcons about Superman's abilities that, at this point, there are a number of his abilities that really are just a matter of the whims of a particular writer.
I liked that Superman finally stopped being a government tool and stopped holding back. Even Batman is in awe of what Clark can do when pushed. THAT'S the Superman I know, and why he'll always be my favorite hero.
Sheesh, all these years and Bruce finally figured out what we all knew? Even the Hulk back in the 80s (although not canon) found out that Clark is immovable.
@docstranger Superman in 1992 was on the depowering curve for some time. He was nothing close today to the Superman of the 60s,70s, or 80s. Those Superman could have sent Doomsday into space with one punch. But how we forget, Superman ended Doomsday in Metropolis.
Don't forget Superman had to start defending himself after a few blows as the Hulks strength was increasing, and knew he had to stop the fight quickly before Hulk got even stronger. I have this comic. Not that it would have mattered with Clark's speed.

Their personalities don’t mesh. Wonder Woman is always going to want Clark to be less of a Boy Scout and Superman’s always going to chafe against Diana’s more blunt and aggressive nature. She’s a better match for Batman.
@@MisterPeckingOrder Not really, you are confusing Wonder Womans training as a warrior with her compassionate and empathic nature. Her personality is almost like Superman. She also strives to inspire, and she just like Superman is outsider, immortal goddess trying to find her place in the world. Also she is created through magic, which makes her compatible for Superman alien biology. All in all they click on every possible level. More then Lois. And Batmans perfect match is Catwoman, not Wonder Woman
@ Brother Wonder Woman is more than ready to kill if she needs way faster than Supes. She also prefers more blunt and direct actions than him. Catwoman doesn’t like being tied down nor does she like having everything handed to her. Outside the original incarnation her and Bruce never work out because their expectations don’t align. It’s the same with Wonder Woman and Supes. Despite surface similarities under the hood they do not operate the same and it’s only when you tweak them both and make them virtually identical that they end up that way but it makes both characters worse and far too samey. Superman also doesn’t really require someone to match him physically since he has a bioelectric aura he can use to protect people.
While the second part of the Dark Knight series needed some background information, about Miller learning to embrace the silliness that comics could offer, I'm completely shocked at the amount of heart that this part has. From the Dark Knight series starting as a gritty "what would be the logical end," and a contributor to the dark period of comics, to an offering that seems insane until you understand his contribution on the Mxyzptlk vs BatMite comic, to this, a part that shows appreciation for the past, embraces the wildness, manages to maintain the plausibility that the second series neglected, and manages to throw in a bunch of heart that, I'll be quite honest about, I didn't think Frank had in him anymore.
Love your coverage. Missing the fact that the Washington Monument destruction and the Lincoln Memorial damage was a bit off putting but the US education system will make a dumbass of most minds. Do appreciate your reading skills though.
That last panel of Bruce and Carrie, woof, what a dog, that is some absolutely god-awful artwork. Bruce's legs are disproportionate and far too skinny, and Carries face is screwed up, too big, and her legs are wrong too. Who is drawing this book, Rob Liefeld?
I'm more familiar with the Pym Particle than the DC shrinking rules but generally shrinking power halve it, give or take. Paraphrasing: some of the mass get carried over when the rest is "stored" in a pocket dimension, the same phenomenon is behind transformation that give extra (dimensional) mass like the Hulk. From what I know, iirc shrinking would make the explosion more powerful I think, due to the compressed matter and energy or even make it worst by forming a singularity. But if it's selective like Phasing power the user can choose what is carried over or "stored" in the pocket dimension to reduce the mass and energy buildup. But generally this type of forward thinking on Power Systems are more likely to be used in Manga than Comics. So don't think about it, here it served its purpose and that's all that matter.
Possibly the best of the World's Finest the end of the beginning the universe will see a new generation of heroes led by the wiser generation of the past and their end will come but not for a billion years. Heroes Forever the Legion and those who left the legacy aren't heroes but became them are the writers and artists who drew on the beliefs of fans and essentially two men who gave as Superman some 80 years ago to everyone who reads the comics of heroes and then the movies and TV shows about heroes we fly with them from page to screen we are true believers a quote from another man who gave as many more incredible heroes. Heroes Forever from Peter Pan to Superman and Batman and Robin and Luke Skywalker and Doctor Who and Wonder Woman and Harry Potter and Thor and Vision and Red Tornado and Captain America and Britain and more importantly those who dreamt them up in imagination. Our world has many hardships and problems but comics are there to give us a place to escape a place to call hope like what's on Superman's chest that symbol the S as in Super Heroes.
Man has DC's quality in writing fallen. They dont engage each other, periord. they never do. but since they came out with that crap 52 the company got lost.
