  • When women begin their post-cancer storytelling journey, we remind them that cancer is not their only story. As You Night founder Lisa McKenzie says, “Although cancer has happened to you, it's not who you are.”
At the You Night Story Crafting Program, women are guided on how to reflect on their life, craft their story and share it with the world so it can uplift someone who needs encouragement.
In this video, we learn about Suzanne Abney. Here is an excerpt of her story:
“I was three years old when I got my first pair of glasses. After watching me struggle to focus and my eyes continuously pulling in, my mom took me to the optometrist’s office. I vividly remember walking out of that office and seeing nature for the first time. I was in awe of the tall individual blades of grass and separated leaves on the tree. Glasses helped me see a whole new world.”
Story Crafting is a therapeutic self-help tool, but is not intended to replace traditional therapy. Should you find that the subject matter is too difficult to process, please reach out to a licensed professional.
