@@Gwar-Deth Pandemonium is non-canon mainly since its a Battle.net exclusive event, and doesn't occur within single-player story mode, but due to retconned lore, it doesn't make sense anymore. Initially, it refers that Lilith is the Succubus Queen and was infuriated when Andariel, her supposed daughter, was slain, and revived Diablo personally after his defeat, as well as Duriel and Izual, but it left her weakened. The current canon is that Andariel is one of the heads of Tathamet, alongside the other Prime Evils, thus making her Lilith's aunt if anything. Then there's the fact she's not interested in the Eternal Conflict, and reviving Diablo will only cause it to keep going, so why would she care?
dude for real, the summoning character design is SO unique and creative. translucent flesh? gelatinous body formed from the guts and flesh of sacrifice victims? a CAPE made from blood and veins? like how cool is that
Lilith did nothing wrong. Inarius and the others were debating the pros and cons of MURDERING THEIR CHILDREN so they could more easily hide from Heaven and Hell. She took it on herself to remove that option by killing all the angels and demons. She’s the good guy, who wasn’t willing to cowardly slaughter their own offspring. Then she gets thrown into the Void by Inarius, who proceeds to go power mad with time. Lilith breaks back in, manipulates some humans to be capable of defeating the agents of Inarius and Hell who are both trying to control them, and gets treated like a villain for it. Thrown into the Void again. Actions speak loudest and so far Lilith wanted to end the eternal conflict, fell in love, had kids, killed people who wanted to kill her kids, broke out of ultra prison to help her descendants retain free will, and generally put them on a path to be stronger than Heaven or Hell aka they can’t be at eternal war if there’s a bigger power between them preventing it. We’ll see in Diablo 4 but so far everything I read makes Lilith seem like the only one consistently trying to look out for Humanity and Sanctuary. Some evil or violent actions for a big picture of freedom and peace.
She murdered her way through Sanctuary to achieve her goals. She watched innocent monk being eaten alive by wolves. Sanctuary under her rule would be a mad house. She did plenty of wrong, but then agin, what can you expect from a deamoness?
@@DarkLOREDash It just seems like she was introduced like an antagonist. I'm still salty that we couldn't work with Zoltun Kulle in D3, can't trust blizz to go the rational route.
THATS what I am thinking. The Vid makes it like she is villainous but Her motivations are for US the nephalem to prosper and end the War of heaven n hell.
She intends to defeat both heaven and hell with her children of super soldier army. So she isn't really a good guy, just a third faction. Humanity is different from the ancient Nephalem who will serve her so we are not her allies, we're more like genetic abnormalities (an inferior sub species) in her eyes. @@ruggie.74 yes. Like they can make Diablo 3 an elaborate illusion created by Belial and none of the events therein actually happened save for in the heroes' minds.
The story of the first God, angels and demons, and sanctuary, is a masterpiece. If only they would bring that feeling into the game. Terror has vanished from todays games, there's no thrill anymore. It has been replaced by speed, to large rewards too fast, no anticipation or difficulty - and that does not mean HC or enemies with 1x billion health, its more like being underpowered and using your freakin brain to solve the problem, or suffer consequenses. And the genericness, my gosh... 145 "legendary" item of the same type in two hours... yeah feels really special. I fear for D4, and this generation. We need to slow down and truly feel what we are doing.
I agree. Diablo 1 is the most immersive. The whole atmosphere and the dialogues really brought in the horror of the monsters to life. The sequels quickly lost the intended way the game is meant to be played and just became item hunts.

Lilith was afraid of the prospect of the nephalem being destroyed by heaven and hell so she decided to kill all the renegade couples which gave birth to them? ...What?
If u think about it, what were the force of even and he'll pursing in sanctuary? The "renegade", that they viewed as traitor, by killing those renegade angel and demon, the heaven and hell did not have any care of the world in the human (and nephellim but I don't think they realized the power they had), thus killing the renegade she put her children out of the conflict, and the weakening of the nephellim made them even less of a threat to the other faction, thus making them a no factor in the war, and preventing them from being a direct targe. make sens a twisted one to be sure but made sens.
Once the Renegades realized Nephalem were more powerful than both Demons and Angels, they decided to kill them, as they were a threat to their existence.
Most of the renegades wanted the nephalems to drop dead, because they were afraid that their children might pose to become a huge threat to both races. Lilith was furious after she heard this so she went on a frenzy and killed them
I bet Inarius will be the final boss, because he is a reference to Satan. - he is a archangel - is hateful/fearful towards humanity because they are a image of the first being (Anu/God) - gets banished from Heaven to Hell I think he will become leader of Burning Hells at some point.
As we see in trailer we fight also with demons which are summoned by prime Evils Like Diablo , Baal and MEph not by LILITh - so they gorw in strengh somewhere in sanctuary .. question is does player as weakend nephalem will join prime evils to fight against Lilith or Lil will help player to fight Primes - or we will have to wipe them all...
It was Rathma who revived Lilith and I know he once hated his mother and fought against her in the sin wars but now that the angel of death Malthael and the prime evil Diablo both were killed by a Nephalem he realized that the Nephalem are the biggest danger to Sanctuary so he revived his mother to stop the Nephalem.
Cool stuff thanks for this lore. All I know is, I'm so happy Blizzard got away from the Diablocraft look. So happy to have a realistic Diablo game again!
To be honest I thought they were bringing back Leah cuz she is Diablos Daughter. But then I remember that Diablo is the Lord of Terror not the Lord of Hatred, that is Mephisto.
Well since it's revealed that all the evils escape, i do think we will see the lord of hatred once morr, hopefully in a much more horrifying form (still want him boney asf)
I want Deckard Cain to come back Maybe he will be the new angel of wisdom Wasn't Malthael originally a angel of wisdom? Before he became the grim reaper?? So that means Deckard Cain can become the new angel of wisdom
the eternal conflict can not be ended, unless something evangelion-ending-like happens. The eternal conflict started when Anu (the "god" of this universe) and only being of existence got rid of all the evil that was within him. That Evil took form as Tathamet, and they fought for millennia, finally killing each other at the same time. the corpse of Anu giving birth to the high heavens and angels, and the putrid corpse of Tathamet giving birth to Hell and demons. Who consequently fought each other for eons. So the only way to end the eternal conflict would be if all existence merged into one perfect being, and probably that being would try to get rid of the evil within him...
@@ReptilianLaserbeam So... instead of pushing the evil all out, why not remove it little by little, that way it can't form into a super powerful being. oh wait, it's just game.

Plot twist: the one they revived is actually diablo in lilith's form and it will then be revealed sometime in the middle of the game and the real lilith would work with you and Inarius who has been in the void the whole time with lilith
Diablo needs a soft reboot. The power creep associated with the Nephalem is way too extreme in the lore. It takes something away from the setting's horror, when you're able to crush everything under your boots easily. Defeating Diablo has less impact when you know, that your character is naturally stonger than him.

It's just the one prime evil though, Diablo absorbed all their essences. So it really would be the one unless the shattering of the black soulstone separated them all into the 7 evils once again.

I wonder if our player characters will be portrayed as good in the beginning, but later on as evil once the player figures out that Rathma is simply trying to restore balance in the universe by ending the angel vs demon war. Wonder if they are going to go that grim dark story route like in Diablo 1.
@@candybear6569 Wrong. Her idea was very simple - Demons stay in Hell, Angels stay in Heaven. Her rage and her going mental was due to the fact that the product of her relationship with an angel was deemed dangerous by both demons and angels - an abomination, yet it was the original nephalem. @@DarkLOREDash so the pale guy in the trailer who says "Blessed Mother" is that Rathma? Cos I assumed Rathma was dead because we wear his bones in the Bones of Rathma ? Or is Rathma like a cult of people not one body
they still have years of doing production and since its closer to d2 than d3 neco oldscholl will def be there, they just made the 3 classes for now i think...honestly cant wait
@@KainsTorment I thought the same at first, but prolly not. Since based on the Sin War novel, Rathma was deeply against Lilith, doubt he would bring her back. And at the end of the trilogy, I believe Rathma simply vanished....I don't recall, but he certainly doesn't reside in Sanctuary any longer . The pale dude could be someone with ambitions like Zolten Kulle who wants to gain the power of Nephalem by evil means.
I'm expecting Necro in the 1st expansion tbh, not as the original 5 on release
So interesting! Was just about to sleep and found this vid! Thanks! Keep up the good work!
So in a summery, Lilith is our mother, and she tried to destroy everyone who could hurt us, which were both angels and demons... and then she got banished for it and now shes back. Sooooooo, for what reason should i be fighting her, for all i care she can go ahead and destroy heaven and hell lol
And i know humanity now are the weaker versions of the nephalem but im pretty sure the characters we play as are an exception, so the question still stands
@IdleBigots Or that the chaos is the balance and we side with her to destroy both heaven and hell and keep Sanctuary as the balance point.
Your picture matches what you are saying perfectly
I'm pretty sure a lot of hittlers followers would say the same narrative 😂

A someone completely new to Diablo in general. I appreciate this a lot. I was really looking for something that was geared more towards the lore to understand the importance in the trailer.
Awesome! Am looking at doing a Diablo 1 - 4 lore breakdown

Anyone else getting a Hellraiser vibe from Diablo 4 cinematic reveal trailer?
Literally said that to my brother today!!
Did anyone can give me a hint where I can find this D4 in-game trailer which started with good-old D1 intro with hollow houses with creaking windows? The new "in-game trailer" starts with the view of the lone house in the midst of nowhere.... Anyone?
You can see inarius eyeballs popping out in the trailer.
I wonder if we will meet Inarius/Anarius.
Hopefully we see Inarius again because his story has the potential to be a great one of repentance and redemption.
Inarius can be briefly seen in D4 cinematic trailer, bound in chains. So i guess he will appear in a game aswell.

Who is that voice actor for "Hell is coming, brother," at the start? I'm sure he voices all sorts.
@@xHTx Could one start to create a game within the storyline of Sanctuary, or use the idea that the world is built upon without copyright issues? Maybe players themselves could do a joint-co-creation-venture?
I think most of all are too old to get as spooked as we got back when we first walked in to the butchers room in d1 when we were like 10 years old.
@@Cptraktorn fair point! Man those were the days... but it's not about succeeding, it's about to create not only a game but a culture, and the more quality immersion the better
@@Cptraktorn even then all you needed was an item editor
just inject an apoc staff as needed and you're deuces for the whole game
people forget that in d1 and 2 dupes were rampant and players were just as cartoonishly over powered, it's just that we're legit now and the graphics aren't as shoddy and gritty. d3 was just too smooth for a lot of people.

Lilith was afraid of the prospect of the nephalem being destroyed by heaven and hell so she decided to kill all the renegade couples which gave birth to them?
...What?
If u think about it, what were the force of even and he'll pursing in sanctuary? The "renegade", that they viewed as traitor, by killing those renegade angel and demon, the heaven and hell did not have any care of the world in the human (and nephellim but I don't think they realized the power they had), thus killing the renegade she put her children out of the conflict, and the weakening of the nephellim made them even less of a threat to the other faction, thus making them a no factor in the war, and preventing them from being a direct targe. make sens a twisted one to be sure but made sens.
well maybe it was all an misunderstanding. good that she is back and can tell us
The renegade couples wanted nephalem dead cuz they were afraid of them
Once the Renegades realized Nephalem were more powerful than both Demons and Angels, they decided to kill them, as they were a threat to their existence.
Most of the renegades wanted the nephalems to drop dead, because they were afraid that their children might pose to become a huge threat to both races. Lilith was furious after she heard this so she went on a frenzy and killed them
You deserve more subs mate. Good video
Thanks so much, my dude!
I bet Inarius will be the final boss, because he is a reference to Satan.
- he is a archangel
- is hateful/fearful towards humanity because they are a image of the first being (Anu/God)
- gets banished from Heaven
to Hell
I think he will become leader of Burning Hells at some point.
Lucifer and Satan isnt the same. Other than that an interesting take.
Only thing I NEED to know is if a mash the hell out of the A button. Dose shit still die?
I'll just pick Sam and Dean Winchester as my character. They banished lilith so they can do it again! Lmao
It was Rathma who revived Lilith and I know he once hated his mother and fought against her in the sin wars but now that the angel of death Malthael and the prime evil Diablo both were killed by a Nephalem he realized that the Nephalem are the biggest danger to Sanctuary so he revived his mother to stop the Nephalem.
awesome explanation. storywise, i think i'm going to like this next diablo installment

Imagine what Mephisto will look like in a blizzard cinematic today...considering Lilith is terrifying.
Well since it's revealed that all the evils escape, i do think we will see the lord of hatred once morr, hopefully in a much more horrifying form (still want him boney asf)
I want Deckard Cain to come back
Maybe he will be the new angel of wisdom
Wasn't Malthael originally a angel of wisdom? Before he became the grim reaper??
So that means Deckard Cain can become the new angel of wisdom
@@thelunchking4069 I really want Leah to come back. they did her Dirty in 3 and it made me mad.
@@thelunchking4069 angels are a standalone race, and humans are still watered down nephalim - dude can't be an angel, sad to say.
Nice info drop. Much appreciated, filled in some gaps for me.
i wish we could join lilith and end the eternal conflict for realz, now that would be awesome
the eternal conflict can not be ended, unless something evangelion-ending-like happens.
It’d be cool if you could choose your path good or evil
Check out the flat earth truth!
@@ReptilianLaserbeam So... instead of pushing the evil all out, why not remove it little by little, that way it can't form into a super powerful being.

Diablo needs a soft reboot. The power creep associated with the Nephalem is way too extreme in the lore. It takes something away from the setting's horror, when you're able to crush everything under your boots easily. Defeating Diablo has less impact when you know, that your character is naturally stonger than him.
1 million percent yes. I hope nephalem are nixed in favor of D1s roots.
i disagree this lore of the game needs to be explored

There is a better option. There are books exist.
Movies requires tons of money, but instead you can do that with your imagination.
How do you get a voice like the guy at the start 'my brother..' Whisky and cigars?
A literal demon birthed with blood magic. “Is she a protagonist?”
Good stuff m8
I'd like to see Lilith on Nephalem's side fighting against the prime evils but most probably she won't. Why mother, why 😭😭
Can you cite the author of that image in 4:57?
I'm hoping the Prime Evils return. 4 diablo games and only once do we face them.....seems silly.
@MahNem Zaim I am not sure I understand your point though?
@MahNem Zaim The Evils were freed at the end of D3. I would certainly hope they make their return. What you are saying sounds cool, I hope to see it
I don't know. Another returning of the prime evils just feels like beating a dead horse. Story should go on, not stay in the same place. Lilith is great character to build this game around imo.
It's just the one prime evil though, Diablo absorbed all their essences. So it really would be the one unless the shattering of the black soulstone separated them all into the 7 evils once again.
@@nahkapoliisi they automatically respawn when they die. Its lore so they will return. Besides. Duriel already was shown in the gameplay. Obviously all of them is back by then

@@darkzer091 yeah. He was against them in Sin War. He never spoke so formal with both of them, not even when he needed Inarius.
His parents hate him too, Lilith even wants to destroy him when she learned he's alive.
@Emmanuel Goldstein I wouldnt be surprised if they both have superior motives and just uses each others.
If that's the case then that is rather interesting. I wonder if our player characters will be portrayed as good in the beginning, but later on as evil once the player figures out that Rathma is simply trying to restore balance in the universe by ending the angel vs demon war. Wonder if they are going to go that grim dark story route like in Diablo 1.
where does 00:53 come from?
Now this is how you make a strong female character
Yes that's all good, but is Matt Uelmen back ?? anyone have info on that ?
so basically Lilith was the good guy
Yes.
Used to be. Then she went mental.
She had a good intention. Stopping the eternal conflict between heaven and hell was her main goal.
@@ludiqtitan By killing them all with the Nephalems. It's like "Hey, i'll kill everyone so peace may happen, cause well, everyone will be dead".
Her son. She never started this with the idea in her head that everyone has to die. That's why I believe if written the right way, she could be a very complicated character. Before going mental her intentions were good.
Will we see mephisto, diablo and baal true form? As the result of the black soul stone and Diablo being the "Prime" another thing if so, how did the black soul stone absorbed all 7 evils, and how does mephisto and baal essense corealates with the black soulstone.
Lilith looks more like diablo’s daughter than mephisto’s
