My compliments to the publisher for this great video. I had the pleasure to be the Captain of this flight. My kindest regards to all Cl-44 enthusiasts., Jose A Munoz
thanks Jose , made several flights at Ostend , before final operations , love this design and sound , i witnessed several touchdowns nose first , great show , must have been a unforgettable experience flying this unique conversion , best regards from Ostend , Belgium
I fondly remember this unique aircraft way back in the 1970s operating with Transmeridian Air Cargo in the UK, then registered N447T. During the 1980s she was re-registered EI-BND, then operating with another British company, Heavylift Cargo Airlines. She appeared regularly at LTN, my local airport.
Fantastic catch! I saw it ( not the Guppy) landing at JFK New York a couple of times in the mid-1960s. The low hum of the engines was amazing, not unlike the Vickers Vanguard. It’s unfortunate that production delays pushed the roll-out back 7 years because by then the jet age was in full swing and prop-liners were becoming obsolete. But this aviation enthusiast hasn’t forgotten this handsome bird. 4 gold stars for this video. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
thanks , some of its final flights at my home airport , end of an era , this plane still exists ( outside ) , but sadly not airworthy , this plane should be preserved in a museum !
I must admit that I enjoyed seeing the CL44 aircraft of Loftleider and Transmerridian. Very majestic aircraft considering the lineage. Superb photography Patrick as always.
before this was operated by Azerbajdan Airlines , plane stiil in one piece , but corrosion issues ( Bournemouth ) , bare metal , sadly this unique conversion should be preserved , little chance for that
I have seen several times at MIA ( Miami) during the 70-80’s decades carrying cargo to several Countries in the Caribbean Sea

Have you noticed how fast was the landing gear retracted.
Within inches from the runway.
Best regards
OMG 😍 So good 👏👍👍
Bellissimo nella sua livrea argentata sembra pronto per andare su Marte. Fa emozionare come uno Shuttle in attesa d del decollo
The rudder??? I believe this plane sat parked in the US for a while prior to this work.
