Traffic, a legendary band. This album, John Barleycorn Must Die is fantastic. So many great songs by Traffic. I like Shanghai Noodle Factory by them, a deep cut. ❤🔥
Steve Winwood is amazing. His music is always so jazzy & funky. He is my favorite artist. Try Rainmaker, Many A Mile to Freedom (great flute), Dear Mr. Fantasy, Glad & Empty Pages. While Traffic is my favorite era of Steve Winwood. Higher Love (feat. Chaka Khan) from his 80s solo career is something you would love
Yes to all of this
Awesome album! I bought it when it first came out and still have it. It still gets broken out every once in awhile.
So glad you dig Traffic, what a great band! I have a favorite deep cut from them called "Roll Right Stones" from their "Shoot Out At The Fantasy Factory" album. Also, "Light Up Or Leave Me Alone" is a killer track!
Yes to all of this too!
"Glad" is a _funkaphonic_ instrumental from that same album; "Feelin' Alright" and "Pearly Queen" from their self-titled 1968 album rock wonderfully.
Steve Winwood Lead Vocals keyboards, Bass & Guitars - Chris Wood - saxophone & flut
🤯!! I grew up on an entire library of vinyl’s, but that was the first time I’ve ever heard of ‘Traffic’, & I’m instantly a fan. Wow. 💚🕊🙏🏻
Fabulous song!! Such a great band.
Oh I love Traffic! Thanks.
For Traffic, try Dear Mr. Fantasy for a banger or for a major vibe try Low Spark of High Heeled Boys.
Another great song from a great, multi talented band. Unique brand of music incorporating jazz, rick, R&B, soul, blues..... it's all in there.
Absolutely love Traffic!!!!
Try Higher Love, Valerie and Roll with It....some of his huge hits in the late 80s. He won 2 Grammy Awards for his 80s work. He started as a teenager to great success in the 60s/70s, then late 80s hit it big again. He still tours and his voice is still incredible in his 70s.
Check out the live version of John Barleycorn Must Die from the early 70's. Fantastic performance.
Can't go wrong with Traffic; one of my favorite bands. Steve Winwood, one of the greatest voices and instrumentalists. You need to also check out their songs "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys", "Dream Gerrard", "Walking in the Wind", "Light Up or Leave Me Alone", "Empty Pages", "Memories of a Rock N Rolla", and more. Hope you do more Traffic.
One of the great bands of the late 60s and early 70s, they were a genre of one. The great Steve Winwood on vocals, guitars and keyboards, incredible albums that freak modern listeners out. Try Dear Mr Fantasy, A legendary tune that helped define that era. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
That there is an album every one needs in their vinyl collection 🤘❤️
Love this one! the best Traffic imo is On the Road, it's a great live album
Love how funky it is, also love the use of the saxophone 🤘👍
Try 40,00 Headmen by Traffic a banger
Traffic and Steve Winwood are legendary. Everything Steve does is amazing. Dear Mr Fantasy is probably their biggest song, been covered by many other artists and used as the opening song for Avengers Endgame. Also Empty Pages on that album is great.
Great song, great album, you should listen to the whole thing. At least hear Glad, Empty Pages, but the whole 2nd side is just as good. Also hear the song Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, but same story, that whole album is full of great tracks too.
This album is about as close to jazz as I can stand.
Loved your reaction. You will dig traffic.
Traffic is the greatest.
the level of musicianship is stellar.
other recommendations by them:
Glad
Tragic Magic
Roll Right Stones
Light Up or Leave Me Alone
Rainmaker
Empty Pages
Dream Gerard
Shanghai Noodle Factory
Great suggestions!
Great to see you 2 boogieing to great music!
The JBCMD lp full of great tunes, with the title track an epic folk tale that should get attention too... Then there's the title track of a subsequent Traffic album, The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. Finally, the lead vocalist, Steve Winwood, was in Spencer Davis Group, the supergroup Blind Faith, and had a long career as a solo artist. Lots to explore!!!
Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys
Not a bad song on this album.
As good as you will ever listen to! Steve Winwood about as much a genius as another Stevie you guys should know and I have no Wonder that you will.😀👍🏻
Please react to the entire album. This isn't the only incredible track. All of them are a must listen.
