I'm 70 and this album came out when I was 18 years old. Loved it since then. More Traffic. You will love it.
Wow that’s longevity right there 😇
from guys like you I heard this song when I was 16 and interested in punkrock some years later - stzill one of my all time favorites :)
Stevie Winwood is one of the most prolific composer of this type of music
Traffic was a amazing band that was its own genre and led by the great Steve Winwood on vocals and guitar/keyboards. They have many great songs from the late 60s - early 70s, to see what I mean in spades, check them out live in Santa Monica 1972. Incredible set. I was lucky to see them twice, they expanded my mind and how to appreciate such musical greatness. Do Dear Mr Fantasy too, the studio original will blow your mind! I watched to the end and Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
Awwh I appreciate your participation in this video #watchcrew ✨
12.13.23. The whole 🎷Album is Superb❗️🎸
"Still here! You bet!" I wouldn't leave in the middle of this great Traffic song...
Try their JohnBarleycorn for another real journey, Blessing!!! Good to see ya, to watch you vibing&humming.
Traffic - Every release was an instant classic! I was a very young teenager when Traffic was together as a band and I always loved Steve Winwood. Such an extraordinarily talented group. You just don't see that kind of talent anymore. Ah, the '70s!
still here, love how you drift, and just absorb. My lady and I would sit back after a dube and do the same as you, absorb.
💜
Traffic, "THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH HEELED BOYS".. One of my all time favorites. I believe was about drugs on the street. Man In the suit was the dealer..
Actually, it's about the recording industry moguls and how they tried to control the music being made and ripping off the artists.
You had a very nice but short singalong that fit well with the tune. I've had this on my playlist forever. Had the vinyl, then cassette, then CD, and now mp3.
I think the legend is that the drummer who wrote this slid a page with the lyrics of the last verse to Steve Winwood as it was being recorded.
Your harmonising was great.
Hi James thank you! I appreciate you watching and leaving your comment ✨
I got exposed to this when I was 18 years old after I just moved to go to college and I ended up dating my psychology TA. I was already a fan of the British band Ten Years After, but at any rate because of the age difference she was more on fire about music of the late sixties and early seventies and more knowledgeable about it than I was because I just heard what I heard on the radio as a little kid. I didn't buy my first final until 74 Maybe.
Anyway we would hang out and have fun and play music and stuff and traffic was one of her favorite bands and it quickly became one of mine and I ended up owning all of their vinyl. This one was a fantastic album physically because the corners of it were cut off at a diagonal, which was just unheard of at the time. But I really love the music
This was kind of an Anthem of sorts for that kind of music. But another long one of theirs, that I fell in love with even more than this one although I love this one dearly, is called, roll right stones and I believe it's off of the album called shootout at the fantasy factory. I bet you would enjoy it but they also have some cooler short ones like Evening Blue. And of course John Barleycorn Must Die what was the first one I ever heard from them and I got the impression right away that those people from the late sixties really loved it.
I made through the last half, while working, lol. I've always liked this song, especially back in the day 💫
JD you work so hard! More power and strength to you! Happy to have you around ✨👏😅
Great song! Great reaction!
Thanks for watching Gary ✨
This is my first time with you and I enjoyed it! I’m 65yo hippie and there is so much to discover ♥️
Heard this the first time live in 1971. Two months before the album was released. I've heard live 2 other times since the record came out. Never as good as thisvrecord
Blessing, you had reacted perfectly to this classic!
rainmaker from the same album is another sweet ride.
I remember this track of course. Very big hit . Its got such a memorable melody and a lot of excellent musicians
I absolutely love that ride cymbal pattern.

💪💪💪
Such a great song
All the way thru of course
Wow! I've never heard someone describe this song, or thought of this song as a folk tale/tribal campfire story. But that's what it is, in essence. A masterpiece of blending genres and sounds, accompanied by a voice that compells one to be still and listen. Thank you for your reaction.
These are talented musicians. I heard of them in the late 1960's, but I'm most familiar with the lead singer and lyricist Stevie Windwood. He was in a band called The Spencer Davis Group prior to Traffic, and in one of my favorite bands called Blind Faith after Traffic disbanded. I saw Stevie Windwood in concert, a few decades after this song was made. He is a fabulous vocalist, and was the lead vocalist in all of these great bands. This is my first time hearing The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, and I enjoyed it. I'm wondering if high heeled boys is a drug reference. Otherwise the lyrics seemed to reference bands being exploited by their record companies and their managers back in the day. I know this was a huge issue for many bands. Great reaction, and I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm hoping that the song I'd Rather Go Blind by Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa will be coming up sometime.
That’s so cool AKR that you got to see him life. Thanks for sharing your Insights ✨
One of the three songs I remember where and when I heard it for the first time. The other two are Springsteen's Born to Run and Television's Marquee Moon.
Still watching

Love the blue braids
Oops a little late to the party but hey, this should be
We still on the premiere live right now you can join the chat :)
I'm not going to type I made it man I hate that kind of stuff, but oops I just did it😂
Two I don't know just kind of build around a point that you made, and you're always so damn observant, it's great, but I would say that on a meta-level the lyrics provided jarring contrast to the more or less organic cool Jazz informed sound that we have. Add all of those guys are so good and Stevie Winwood is a fascinating vocalist to me.
It just seems like the lyrics tell a story I suppose that is age-old, but at the time in the late sixties or early seventies or whatever I think it was late 60s, this music was Innovative and right in front of everything and yet so representative and yet also the lyrics and the vocal delivery were really modern, talking about current issues and stuff all those through the veiled reference of metaphor and basically poetry.
Always fun to hear from you! And yes type BOLDLY you made it! That takes good concentration to do that! 👏👏👏👏
A sound like nothing else on Earth.
Gee, thanks for the reply back
Stevie !
Of course I'm still here, you bet!
