Guitar trivia ... on the original recording it is Neil Giraldo playing the guitar parts on this song. He's the husband and guitar player for Pat Benatar. I've seen him play live and he can bring it!
jkinthewind One time Pat Benatars band was playing last on a bill of multiple bands I was gonna blow off her set, but decided to stay, Neal was awesome!! Glad I changed my mind
Could you look into trying to learn Don't Ever Let Me Go by Eddie Cochran , I love this song but I can't find the music for it anywhere, and your videos are awesome lessons, you can explain them so well
How about a Justin appearance on the Tim and Pete guitar show? I'm sure logistics and scheduling would be difficult at best but it would be cool. Cheers!
Hey Justin. The rest of the cords are syncopated but that very first one that opens this song is not. It starts on the downbeat of 1. Listen carefully again.
Did you have to practise to be able to sing and play at the same time or did it come naturally? 'Cos I just can't seem to do it. Not that I can sing anyway but still.
I recommend finding something with a really easy strumming pattern. Or make the strumming pattern really simple by playing on beat 1, 2, 3, 4 and then work your way up to harder patterns.
This is the closest I’ve seen. When Rick and his band play it live somehow he’s playing the chorus without sliding from the A to B. I’ve tried to watch the hands on his live videos and still don’t see how he’s doing it.
This lesson is great for the basic idea of the song, it'll get you by in a pinch, but the chorus and the bridge before the guitar solo are not played like this by any studio musician. Not trying to step on any toes here and I fully understand if it gets pulled down by Justin but I've added a link with me playing the chorus and the bridge before the solo. Recorded on a phone, so not a million dollar sound quality but still passable: ruclips.net/video/EJqdNS2jPOI/видео.html
I saw Rick live he was awesome
Cool can u do a meme thx
When????
Really loved you showing the thumb over riff...took me a few tries but my fingers set in just fine and it sounds awesome now! Thank you!
Once again thank you for your time patience and energy
You make everything look so easy.

I met Rick Springfield a while back super cool dude one of the best musicians I’ve known
Great lesson. Really helped with the repeat on the 2nd chorus and the bridge and the key change. Thanks!
I love you Justin! Thank you for sharing, excellent work.

Could you look into trying to learn Don't Ever Let Me Go by Eddie Cochran , I love this song but I can't find the music for it anywhere, and your videos are awesome lessons, you can explain them so well
Another great lesson
Hey Justin great lesson, I wanted to ask what bridge pick up are you using in that guitar, a seymour duncan JB? - Thanks
I have Seymour Duncan's for pick ups on my Schecter. They sound great. I don't have to do much to change tone and I only have one tone knob.
That A chord in the chorus is an A6 sus 4!
Superb…💖💖💖💖
Good stuff Justin, great song

Rick S, a modern day guitar freelancer lol.
This is actually written by (guitar) and originally on the album is Neil Geraldo from Pat Benatar one of the most underrated guitarist in the 1980s
Classic song that literally everyone knows and sings too!
Are you using pedals or clean sound and what are the amp settings
Thx top stuff
Hi Justin brilliant lesson as usual. Do you ever do any Stone Roses songs

:)
Hey Justin. The rest of the cords are syncopated but that very first one that opens this song is not. It starts on the downbeat of 1. Listen carefully again.
Nice 1
Do you use a fuzz pedal? If not then is there a pedal and what pedal?
hey justin please do songs on a acoustic guitar
awesome video. as always. thx a lot. can you make a tutorial video of Orion by metallica Gabriela and Rodrigo style ?. specially Gabriela style
Are you using distortion or it is a clean sound
What's the exact model of your electric guitar? Thanks.
Probably a stratocaster
nice
It was Neil Giraldo (Pat Benatar) on the original recording as the producer "did not like Rick's guitar playing".
Did you have to practise to be able to sing and play at the same time or did it come naturally? 'Cos I just can't seem to do it. Not that I can sing anyway but still.
As a guitarist and piano player, yes definitely had to practice. For quite a long time.
But one day it just clicked.
That's actually quite relieving to hear. Thanks man. Was there any particular thing you did or did you just sort of keep trying until it clicked?
Try playing Knockin on Heavens door, that's a pretty easy song and its the one that made it click for me
Alrighty, I'll give that a try Thanks for the advice :)
I recommend finding something with a really easy strumming pattern. Or make the strumming pattern really simple by playing on beat 1, 2, 3, 4 and then work your way up to harder patterns.

Dude I have the exact same guitar
Solo Please
Is your strat original or modified?
It's a Suhr. A rather expensive Strat copy.
Id use a Bm. Stay in key.
Justin, can you make a lesson about "Fortunate son"
Chears I am 14 and learn gutar I am internidet player I have five gutars 2 electric guitars and 3 acoustic gutaars
Yeah, the Solo is probly way too advanced for me at least.
I reckon you could have pulled off those Vox :)
TAB please
Ahhh
HEY...Norm MacDonald!!!!
You look just like Norm MacDonald
Ricks producer hated the way he played it and got another guitarist to record it. Thats why it sounds different live.
That's a demanding producer! Rick's an ace guitarist.
This dude in this video looks like Norm McDonald.
Why doesn't anyone listen to my song requests?
Second?
look like it - but there's no silver medal here ;) ha ha
+JustinGuitar Songs hahaha nice once btw nice vid man!
