Fantastic video. That saw is a beast. It gave you a hech of a sawdust shower. And the chickens look like they love the new sawdust playground. That saw should help you out tremendously. Have a great time using it, and stay safe. Be blessed. My friend.
Great video Chris Loved the rooster singing in the background & the chickens!
They make great characters for the channel! Haha!
Been looking forward to this video. I have an interest in doing some milling like this. Thanks Chris 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks doug!
hi there good show , looks like you got a work out , best to all john
Definitely a lot harder than just tossing it on the mill. Some day, when I grow up, I'll get a bigger mill
Those beam makers ought to be called back-breakers. So awkward to stand over the log that way.
Yes. Especially a long this big.
What are your plans for those slabs?
No plans right now. Figured I get them cut and drying. Something will come up!
Hi Chris!!😀😀
That thing is a animal!!
Do you still have your Stihl 880 and how does it compare in power to the 8120?
Take care buddy!!😀😀💚💚
Yes, I still have the 880. Although it is for sale. I would say the two of them are real close to power.
That’s a really strong showing for that saw. Not easy to mill hard maple that length, and width with a Crosscut saw. It didn’t seem like it bogged down at all. Nice cuts too!
How was it for temperature and oil?
Oiled the bar fine. Didn't notice any smoke and nothing to indicated the bar got hot. As far as the saw temperature, it was fine as well. I never felt like it got to hot. This whole video took approximately 3 tanks of fuel. 1 for each cut. Overall, this was a very good shakedown for this saw. As far as long term? Who knows?
Nice looking boards. Hope you get around to doing something with them.
Not bad at all
That is an awesome mill setup I thought about buying and Alaskan chainsaw mill and that beam definitely looks like it could work for me too all I wanted to do for some time is make a fire place mantle thanks for the video Chris I appreciate it
Thanks for watching!
That saw seems to run awesome! I could almost tell what you were thinking when you pulled the rope out of that thing though!
I removed the audio on that clip because I said out loud what I was thinking! Haha!
Look up Jim dolson I believe is his name he has a couple really good videos on using the beam jig and what he came up with to make it a much easier process I’m going to have to get me one of those 3120 clones now lol
Thanks! I'll check him out!
@@KillingerUSA he built a push bar throttle setup to run not the beam mill and the Alaskan saw mill with and makes life much easier on us chainsaw millers
