Sweet! My similar over long build was a Hasegawa 48th P38 started in 1996. I finished college & moved careers etc but that kit mostly built travelled along but finally during covid I re discovered the box & Shazam! It's done!😊
Such a great story, and I’m sure you felt sense of closure like I did finally finishing it! Life happens, but the box and kit will always be there when you’re ready for it. Seeing the old models that my dad and I built when I was a kid or the ones that I did on my own flood back memories of special moments. Thanks for taking the time to check out my video ☺️
Joe. Thank you so much for posting this vid! Not only did you absolutely crush the build, and your Spit is gorgeous, but I really appreciate how well edited and scripted it is. No endless dead air or rambling commentary. Your voice over is perfect! I'm going to keep your vid up while I build this kit. I'm a fan!
Thank you so much for this compliment. Put my heart into this one and I’m flattered you are using it for reference. Best wishes to you and your project 😊
Thank you so much. I have a few ideas I'm exploring as well as tidying up my bench. I might change the format up a little to get videos out quicker too.
I don’t remember the exact grit but it’s usually starting in the 200s and then out to 400 or 500 but I always check with primer after I’m done sanding to make sure the lines gone

Great Job, but why no roundels on the lower wings?
If you go to 1:44 in the video where the decal layout is, it does not show roundels on the bottom so I did not include them.
firstly what a build ,well done indeed ,and congratulations on getting married.
Great to hear from you Neil! Thank you so much for the kind words ☺️
So nice to see this finished. It was worth the wait. Are you planning, or already working on an new project?

So you are sanding the top to get rid of the lines ? What grit you use ?
