Negreanu is just such an amazing poker player. One thing I’ve noticed from watching him play is that he has a sixth sense when someone’s bluffing, it absolutely blows my mind.
What's crazy is to say, well... I wonder if Daniel could figure out an 8 was coming, from keeping a vivid memory of many of the previous hands and what cards were in play. How many times high, middle, and low cards had come up. It seems a bit farfetched to think that he could be studying the cards so well that he could predict what is going to come, but I honestly wouldn't put it past him, at least to some degree. Has so many reads, so many tricks, so much knowledge on the game.
Its crazy how one hand can propel you into winning it all. I was playing in a tournament and playing super well. We were 4 table left and i end up all in with 33s against KJ who trapped with trips(side note: the player who was trapping is a very lose player who limped on the button and typically plays very aggressive when they have a hand.) Turns out someone else folded a 3 so I had 1 out to hit or go home. I hit the 3 on the river and ended up winning the tournament. Crazy thing was I had previously lost a hand AK to JJ when i flopped top 2 and they flopped bottom set. It all went in and I was left with around 13BB. Sick comeback and I was very lucky.
Can i just mention how great the commentators are? Usually you get those who love listening to their voices and dad jokes. But these 2 were actually insightful and read it beautifully.
Not sure what Winter was repping with a check raise on JQA in a limped pot when there’s almost no hand he’s checking the BB with pre that hits it, unless he is mixing it up so well he is checking with AJ, K10 and AQ there some of the time.
Well..I can see you don't like Daniel that's ok not everybody must like everybody, I don't personally see what is so "worse" about this tournament, the "announcers" that you are talking about i think they are called commentators, they are fine definitely "seen"/heard worst. But hey to each their own i guess.
@@saiajay6663 100% Agree with you, he did so much for poker, but nobody seems to acknowledge this, he brought a lot of attention and a lot of players to the table and helped and probably helps a lot of people to develop their poker style/games. @@razergecko1102 well Daniel knocked the other guy out and won him a few more tens of thousands of dollars so yeah, can't be super mad. 227k win, I wouldn't really be mad at all.
Raising 250 K with the 9 10 was a huge mistake, a 90 K or 100 K bet there gets the job done, and if the 77 just calls you can maybe steal with the AK flop, or if you get reraised all-in pre flop you can fold. When you raise 25k k you have to call the other 250 K because you are getting 3 to 1 odds.
Are there situations or boards, where we should be mostly checking, in position, as the preflop aggressor? Any situation you can imagine is fine, thanks.
I love how poker has stratified into the haves and everyone else clamoring in the sub 5k buy in Massive field crap shoots. Really makes ya enjoy the game
Nice thing about having so many career wins is the stakes for play arent that high so he can always have fun, even if he loses. Means he plays more hands too
So Winter AQo terrible no call on a turn(Negreanu did not bluff river for sure), but he raised T8o sb vs bb limped pot AQJ board representing nothing and continued agression was 250k T9o raise actually a 3bet? or he open raised them? blinds were much lower After AQvsA8 he gifted Negreanu lots of chips
Sorry but that snap call at 8:20 with 2 pair and not even afraid of the potential straight or flush on the board was so cold. How did he have such a strong read that he was ahead?
It's a perfect read and evaluation of the situation. Daniel knew after winning a couple of All-ins against Winter, he probably instilled some fear into him. Which is why he could make him fold the WAY better hand. Daniel is a genius. That 8 of clubs call out was scary as well..
For a newbie like myself. why don’t they have the chip value be the actual value of the tournament? If he won 350,000 but the chip score was I think 5 million wouldn’t it make sense that the chips were just 1/14 the value and that way you get what each hand is worth in real money. I 100% admit I’m probably missing something.
Ok. If I'm winter and I turn top pair with a DOUBLE GUTTER, I'm flat calling all day. That's so many outs. Maybe Daniel is looking for a flush, but that's such a small percentage possibility considering his betting patterns, he should have considered all of his outs. Go for broke Winter, don't be timid 😭
Winter... raises before the flop, doesn’t get reraised, flops a double gut shot, hits top pair on the turn. What does he do? Checks and folds. That guy is completely out of his element here, he has no idea what he’s doing.
He doesn't have a Diamond in his hand, DNegs could've very well raised with an Open ender and turned a straight.. Or he could've had JT in which case he's drawing very thin on the river.. Coupled with DNegs' reputation of not running such elaborate bluffs for his tourney life.. Thus, fold makes a lotta sense there.. 🏃💨
@@saiajay6663 Winter was the aggressor before the flop. He just needs to follow through there, but he played it weak. If you're heads up and assuming your opponent has a straight or flush after you raise before the flop, that's even more reason that you're out of your element.
Folding that aq by winter was confusing he must of thought he was soul reading dnegs or something like why call on the flop to hit your ace and then fold??
The AQ fold is dramatic... what does he thought... just pay and if a diamond comes you will see! But Negreanu has the position + the edge and that makes the thing here
On the last hand after the flop, wouldn’t Winter also have the chance at getting runner runner with QQ or 10 10 to hit trips and beat Daniel? Why were his only outs J?
