I've been using Starline Brass for many years and for many different cartridges both rifle and handgun. I have ALWAYS been very happy with all the Starline products I have purchased and used. And I have used a LOT of Starline Brass. I have nothing but good things to say about Starline , they are a great company that produces a great product at a fair price. It goes without saying... "I am totally 100% satisfied with Starline and their products. They are the gauge by which we can measure other manufacturers. Starline sets the standard.
I'm glad you chose the Starline brass. I purchased 500 right when they announced them. With the reduced capacity it will be interesting to see the difference in velocity with the lighter powder loads that are compressed. You are going to save me a lot of work. Thanks for the series.
Starline has been making .458 Socom brass, which is also a bottle neck case. They have been great so far as they are the only ones making that brass. Keep up the good videos.
I'm a little late to the party here but how do the primer pockets hold up in this brass especially the small primer version. I ask because a load fairly high pressure
good info....I'm living in Missouri and love supporting local. I go to Sierra bullets for my pills and will be hitting Starline for my brass. Thanks for the vid!!
Nice series, looking forward to it. I purchased a couple boxes of the same star line .308 brass and I have been pleased with it. I don't have a lot of firings on mine, but it has been good so far. I did deburr the flash holes on mine as they were a little gnarly compared to stock Lapua brass. But overall this brass seems to be a good value. Oh and that Savage is sweet.
On my Tikka t3 in 30-06 I noticed the chamber is very tight, sometimes you will have to use a bit of force to push the bolt down on factory rounds. A lot of others have said the same thing. So that is a bonus for brass life at least.
what do,you think the brass most closely matches federal or win or ... just curious my 308 doesn't really like the reduced loads and I've had the best results with hornady brass out of it so far so kind of fussy on what brass I'm going to buy
I also love the model 99, especially the rotary magazine. Many consider the 99's action marginal for pressure of the 308...I can see their point in theory but clearly they are safe.
I’ve always enjoyed watching your videos and also your extensive knowledge! I finally jumped into reloading.. using a Dillon 550. That being said, I’ve been breaking the base off of this brass.. curious as to why this may be happening. Brass has been cut to length.. chamfered and de burred and then polished because why not. That being said wiped off and lubed the cases heavily Dillon lube and spray G96 lube in the die. After 5-6 pieces of brass I’ll break off the brass inside the die in the up stroke. If you could provide me with some advice I’d greatly appreciate it. Can’t be buying more and more things just to reload 5 rounds and break down again. Thank you kindly!!
Great video, thanks for sharing the info. I am looking for some good quality New reloading brass to add to my inventory. I have some once fired from various brands but, looking to make a New brass purchase. I have read that Lapua and Norma are at the top of the list for quality and that Federal is towards the bottom. What would you say about the Starline brass compared to others.... in the middle? Is there other brands that you prefer over these Starline that are not as expensive as Lapua or Norma?
Huh looks like Perry good brass for the mobet. I've been having good luck with hornady brass out of my 308 but that stuff looks good. is it close to fc brass if so I don't like it in my rifle in that caliber . and have you ever tried 4320 powder I found some load data in my father's old loadi g manual and that load shoots good in my rifle might want to give it a try just for shits and grins
Looking forward to the 110 grain test. I've always wanted to shoot them in 300 weatherby. A lot of guys like the 208 grain amax for 308. It I've never tried them
I bought some star line 20ga hauls man I got some crazy high reload counts on some I bought 150 and they started life as 3in wore those out cut them to 23/4 and loaded them 6-10 more times really good shotgun hauls
it's strange to me that you where having all the leading trouble with your loads before and now things seem to be working out fine have you retried any of the same powders that you had used before hand?? and yes I would like to see what you are getting for velocity out of the coated bullets
if ya make a cast load for it try the 200g lee or Lyman 299310/2660299 200g theyre about the same lymans a little better bc at 35g 3031 or varget 38.5 they shoot an inch at 100 yds outa ar10 and 3/4 in a savage m110 the 3031 load i use to shoot nra high power with the 18" ar10 all the way to 600 2196avg 11sd between 5-6 its just going transonic at the end but the lyman still puts em in there at a lil over 12"s the lee opens up just a hair more at 6 because the bc is slightly lower but still hits consistent 18" use rem 91/2 mag primers gas check first then powder coat .23 cent 600yd lead round its awsome
Thanks for your effort. As you say, too much rambling. Some comparisons with other brass (Lapua & Winchester) would have been helpful & more specific info with regards to wall thickness of the case and rigidity of the brass used by Starline.

Thanks for making the videos . I'm sure it's a pain but your good at it.
It's a lot of fun on my end! Thanks for watching.

You got way too much time on your hands. And I like it. Outstanding information as always. I had no idea Starline made rifle brass.
Thanks for sharing that story. I think that's cool.
Thanks, man!

Out of curiosity, have you tried the 130 grain TTSX in your 300 WBY? If so, what are your thoughts?
Wonder why they did not go with 7.62x51?

My Springfield Armory M1A - 22" and it's my best shooting rifle so far.
Eggleston munitions makes a 200 grain .308
110 grain VMAX's blow things up good.
Atlas Development Group brass is the way to go...

If you feed that savage 99 cast bullets im sure you will never wear the bore out.
That's a good point!
I know about ``cursed`` hunting guns......... a good excuse to buy a new rifle

This is random and irrelevant but this is my first time seeing your face. I'd thought you would have long hair and wore glasses lol
