Rick Allen is literally overhated and it's so annoying. He's provided us with some of the best post-2015 calls so far seeing as most of these are during NBC races that I remember so well and he so happens to be my favorite NASCAR announcer too. I love the energy he brings to races, he really makes big moments, crashes, and finishes exciting. Including all the ones in this video from the "Hail Melon" to the "Hemric vs Cindric call for Daniel's first win and championship" and in general, I'll always choose someone who genuinely brings excitement to races I'm watching instead of the absolutely terrible, annoyed sounding, emotionless calls that are from current era FOX/FS1 like Bowyer to Larson's final lap Daytona 500 crash: "Oh he got turned 🙄"

His energy is great but other than that I still think he's not a good announcer lmao. It's like he tries too hard and just screams random sentences rather than actually saying anything valuable to what's going on.
Edit: FOX is still worse though I'll give you that. I think Mike Joy's lost what he used to have unfortunately.
