Initially it is difficult to see the complexity of the track layout and the distances involved until, after a couple of puffs of smoke the locomotive appears and sedately rather than stormily suddenly puts everything into perspective. Great piece of filming with superb lens work finally zooming out to reveal all.
Great capture, a bit off topic I couldn't help but take delight in the sound of the old EMU type compressors going at 0.45sec into your video. cheers.....Mark
I love your videos! My dad and grandfather have always been fascinated with trains and have passed down the interest to me. I've even ridden a steam train in CT once. You have inspired me to get some train footage, we get some big ones out here in Kansas. Double deckers. They look huge out on the open plains. I'll tag you if I post something like that.
Happened the day before my birthday but sadly I moved to clacton last year in August so i never got to see it pass my dad did see Bittern pass at this station in 2012 in may but he only took pictures of it no video footage.
About 2000 per day, across the three 4-track main lines that pass through the station (Windsor Lines, Bournemouth Main Line and Brighton Main Line) as well as the various junctions to Kensington Olympia and Longhedge Junction.
What a magnificent sight, first you see puffs of smoke and then you see the beautiful train snake in. Loved it.

What qualifies as storming? It was barely ticking over...
Thats just what I was going to say but you beat me to it.
If it makes noise and puffs smoke really :)
Sadly for once the weather let us down
How do they turn the steam trains round now with no turntables ?
wow!!
The bloke who filmed it clearly thought he was uploading a different film
Britain's busiest railway station?
How many train movements per 24 hours?

So good not to see an oily diesel at the end!
“Storming” at 10mph?!!!!
Storms? Bit of an abuse of the English Language methinks.
Artistic license... xD
***** its u
Perhaps you need to pay more attention to the title “Storms Through”….I think not ! This Steamer wasn’t even out of first gear, disappointing video.
